Young Unicorn and Fairy Friend

Young Unicorn and Fairy Friend

Unicorns and Fairies are almost always friendly with one another.  Both Fairies and Unicorns are sentient beings of light.  This young Unicorn is resting in the grass at an overlook.  She is paid a visit by her Fairy friend.  This is a Grass Fairy....notice her grass skirt.  Many Fairies wear clothing made of plants.

Did you know that Fairies can use their magic to miniaturize a Unicorn.  They do this sometimes so that the Unicorn can go into the Fairy Realm.  the Fairy Realm is usually underground and also usually under and partially IN a tree.  This Grass Fairy is about to magically miniaturize her friend so the Unicorn can come visit and stay a while in the Fairy village, underneath the tree.  In fact, the Fairy village is 3 feet or about 1 meter underneath the tree. . . underground.

The Unicorn is named Mae.   The Fairy is named Herbia...That Fairy name is from the Latin word for Grass.  Grass Fairies prefer to make their realm under a tree.   Sometimes, on the plains, a suitable tree is not avialable.  Then the Grass Fairies will make their village under the grass somewhere that is not too close to a river or lake.  This little overlook is 50 feet above the Colorado plains so it is very suitable.

By the way, if you see a grass Fairy, odds are that you will THINK you saw a butterfly.  If you see a Unicorn, odds are that you will think it is a feral horse.  That is a Mustang in North America and a Brumby in Australia.  Those are the names for Feral horses that I know.  I am sure that many other countries have names for local wild horses.

NOTE:  I am just now putting a printablle version of this drawing on this site.  It can be found by clicking on Fantasy Myths and Circus . . . or . . .  All Printables.  Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the drop menu or list for new drawings like this.  I apologize if you looked for it there before and did not find it.
