Pray for me please.

I’m having my tracheal stent replaced this morning so please include me (Robin Lyman) in your prayers.  My wife Laurel is also recovering from back surgery so please include her too.

Sorry I have not posted in a few days.  Here are some photos of some unposted drawings.  These will be scanned in and printable after my recovery.

Blue Whale coloring page

Today's new drawing on my free coloring pages blog is of a Blue Whale.

Credit goes to a little boy who I met at my grandson's Tai Kwon Do class.

This little boy wanted a drawing of a Blue Whale.  So I drew this.

Blue Whale

Blue Whales are the largest living animal on our planet.  Of course, they are ocean animals, so they are not the largest living thing on land.  Blue whales can get up to 110 feet long and they can weigh up to 150 tons. . . or 136 metric tons.  That is 33.5 meters long.  And the females are bigger than the males.

Blue whales are baleen whales so they are filter feeders.  They take a huge gulp of water into their mouth and then they squirt out the water and their baleen captures the plankton and especially krill.  So it is amazing the biggest animal living here on our planet eats some of the smallest living things. And krill is one of the smallest living animals.

This drawing includes a young Great White Shark and a Giant Squid.  Notice how much smaller they are than the Blue Whale.

Blue Whales are actually light blue-gray and have dappled gray spots that look like Bob Ross had a giant paintbrush that he was using to paint bushes and clouds on the Blue Whale.

Afrovenator the African Hunter Dinosuar coloring page (2nd post in English)

This is a re-posting of the English version of this page.

Today's new drawing is of a large Theropod dinosaur from Niger, Africa. It is called Afrovenator.

Welcome back to my free coloring pages blog!

Sorry I have not posted a lot lately.  I have been busy helping

my wife recover from some major surgery.

I have surgery next week so I guess I better post some drawings.

There is a backlog of drawings to post.

Since today's dinosaur was found in Niger, Africa I also posted it in French and Hausa.

Afrovenator the African Hunter Dinosaur

Afrovenator means African Hunter.  It was a large theropod that was somewhere between 25 and 30 feet long.  So maybe it was around 9 meters long.  It lived in what is now the country of Niger.  It most likely was the top predator of the region.  It lived in the Jurassic Period and possibly was a relative of Allosaurus. Allosaurus lived in North America, Europe, and Africa.  Afrovenator appears to only have lived in Africa.

The Pterosaurs flying in the background are Rhamphorhynchus.  It lived in Europe and Africa in the Jurassic Period, so it is correct to have Rhamphorhynchus in this drawing.  Rhamphorhynchus had a wingspan of around 4 feet or 1.8 meters.  The name "Rhamphorhynchus" means "beak snout" in Greek.

Afrovenator signifie Chasseur africain.

Alexawyn and Tomagorn Elf and Dunedain couple coloring page

Welcome or welcome back to my free coloring page blog.

I apologize for not posting new drawings for a while.

My wife had major surgery and then things went bad for a while.

She is recovering and doing better now so I am back to drawing and posting.

This drawing is of an Elf and her husband who is of the Dunedain.

Alexawyn and Tomagorn

Alexawyn was a member of the Elven Elite. She was also a warrior who helped defend the Elven city of Rivendell. She fell in love with Tomagorn, who was a ranger and a member of the part elf Dunedain.  She is seen here in non-armor but her husband, Tomagorn, is in Gondorian armor.  The city in the background is actually the city of Gondor.

Tomagorn had been raised in Rivendell but chose the life of a ranger where he could make a difference by helping the poor and downtrodden.  Plus he could help rid Middlearth of orcs, trolls & etc.  Since Elves are immortal if they are not killed in battle etc. Alexawyn is actually around 200 years old.  that is pretty young for an Elf maiden.  Her husband is a member of the long-lived Dunedain so he is only a oug 70 years old.   But of course, neither of them looks like what a human mortal would look like at those ages.

I want to note that when drawing a coloring page of such a handsome man and beautiful Elf it is very difficult to capture their true physical or non-physical beauty.  But I did my best.  Alexawyn was legendary for both her beauty and her compassion.  She was especially fond of animals. Tomagorn was also a kind person who loved animals but don't tell that to any of the orcs he has dispatched.

Loriah the Brine Fairy at the Great Salt Lake coloring page

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing is of a Brine Fairy named Loriah

Loriah the Brine Fairy at the Great Salt Lake

Brine Fairies live near Salt Lakes.  They care for the local environment and both flora and fauna that live in or near the lake.  This is a drawing of a beautiful Brine Fairy that lives near the Great Salt Lake near Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.  She is concerned about the shrinking levels of the lake.  The toxic dust clouds in places the lake is dried up also have her very concerned.

Brine Fairies have a unique ability to shrink to very small sizes.  In this drawing Loriah is mortal size.   Like all Fairies, she can change from Fairy size of about 5 inches tall to mortal size.  However, being a Brine Fairy she can go to the size of about 1/4 inch.  She does this to visit with the brine shrimp.  She knows that brine shrimp are very small invertebrates that have very limited intelligence.  To her, that is all the more reason to help protect them.  Brine Fairies can also breathe underwater.  That gives the ability to swim with the brine shrimp.  She can turn invisible to mortals... or at least appear to be another brine shrimp.  If you see a swarm of brine shrimp then there is probably a Brine Fairy they are trying to get close to.  Brine shrimp, even with their limited intelligence, know that Brine Fairies are safe and friendly.

Young Dragon Fairy calls a Mini Dragon coloring page

This is my free coloring pages blog.

I drew these drawings, with the exception of a few drawn by grandnieces or grandnephews.

I am not the world's greatest artist, but I use what talents I have to share with the world.

I estimate that there are over 2600 drawings on this blog so I am clearly a productive artist.

Today's new drawing is of a young male Dragon Fairy who is calling a Dragon.

Young Dragon Fairy calls a Mini Dragon

This is a drawing of a young male Dragon Fairy.  He is using his wand to call a Mini Dragon.  The wand is generating a sound signal that only the dragon hears.  This Dragon Fairy is named Drakalo.  He is obviously also a Mushroom Fairy.  Mini Dragons feed on fungi, like this mushroom that the young Drakalo is sitting on.

As a Dragon Fairy Drakalo helps take care of the Mini Dragons.  Mini Dragons are very rare and endangered.  The pollution that modern humans have put into the planted has been very toxic for all dragons, but especially for small dragons like this.  So Dragon Fairies help the Mini Dragons find uncontaminated mushrooms.

By the way, Mini Dragons can eat all fungi and even the toadstools that would kill most animals do not bother them at all.  In fact, they like the poisonous members of the fungi kingdom.  They find toadstools, for example, particularly spicey.  If you or I ate toadstools we would die of extreme liver failure.

One more thing, this Mini Dragon is not attacking Drakalo.  He is just coming for breakfast, in the form of a mushroom or toadstool.  And what called the dragon is a sound spell.  Notice that the light is coming from behind the Fairy and not from the wand.  Just look at the shadows.

NOTE:  To find the printable version of this first drawing and any fantasy drawings just click on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll to the bottom for this new drawing.  New drawings are always at the bottom of the list.  Below are some other drawings from previous posts with a similar theme.   These drawings are found further up the list since they are older drawings.
