Elm Tree Fairies coloring pages

Hi Everyone!  Sorry for not posting for a few days.

We were on vacation in Denver.

Today's drawing was inspired by a statue I saw there in the Denver area.

Tree Fairies - Ariana the American Elm Tree Fairy

American Elms is a hearty tree that grows in much of the Eastern half of North America.  This tree can grow to be up to around 140 feet tall.  That's 43 meters tall.  It is so tough that it can live through very cold winters with temperatures at -44 degrees Fahrenheit AKA -42 degrees Celsius.  American Elm trees can live for over 250 years.

Of course, this drawing depicts an American Elm Tree Fairy in the summer.  Ariana cares for American Elm Trees.  She especially uses her magic to dissuade people from cutting down the American Elm Trees.  She does need to defend against the disease carried by the bark beetle because American Elm trees are very susceptible to the Dutch Elm Disease.

Ariana is seen here at night.  She is "magically" changing the number of chromosomes in the cells of the tree.  I suppose you could it magic but remember that Fairies have powerful magic that is used with a high level of science and technology.  Ariana knows that if there are extra chromosomes in the cells the American Elm can resist the Dutch Elm Disease beetle.  The cells are easier to transform when it is cooler at night.  Hence this is Ariana doing her magic at night.

NOTE:  I had to pause putting this drawing into printable form under "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus.  My wife needed to borrow my computer for her Primary lesson. "Primary" is Sunday School for children in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  My wife teaches the four-year-olds.  I will next add some other Elm Tree Fairies from previous posts...

OK, now I have posted the printable page on "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus." So click on that button and scroll down to the bottom of the list. New drawings are always at the bottom of the correct list.  So, below are two Elm Tree Fairies from previous posts.

M-60 Patton Tank coloring page

This coloring page drawing will probably not be the last one I post today.

This is today's FIRST new coloring page drawing that will be available to print and color.

M-60 Patton Tank

The M-60 Patton Main Battle Tank was in service by the USA armed forces from 1960 to 1980.  It weighed around 20 tons and was a cold war tank.  It has been retired and if anything it is now used for target practice by the US Army.  It went through lots of upgrades over the 20 years of its service in the US military.

However, the M-60 Patton Main Battle tank is still the most widely used tank in the world.  Many of the allies of the USA still use this tank so it is NOT completely out of service.

The M-60 Patton Tank was named for General George S. Patton who was a commander of the Third Army in World War II.  He was a genius at tank warfare.  We had a book in our family library called When the Third Cracked Europe.  Ironically General Patton died in a car wreck shortly after the war ended.  He never rode in nor commanded a M-60 Patton Tank.

This is my grandson's plastic toy tank that I used to draw this tank. It IS based on an M-60 Patton Main Battle Tank.  I had the same type of toy when I was little.  It amazes me that they still use that same mold to make the plastic tank.

Marine Reptiles coloring pages

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog. Today I will be posting several new drawings.

THIS post is about some Marine Reptiles that lived at the same time as the dinosaurs.

But remember, Marine Reptiles were NOT swimming dinosaurs.

Later I will post other Marine Reptile drawings on this post, but I need to take my wife to the dentist.

I will also be posting other drawings even later today and tomorrow

in the Fantasy, Religious, Transportation etc. categories.

Huge New Ichthyosaur

Three gigantic Ichthyosaurs were found in the Alps at 9100 feet or 2800 meters above sea level.  Two were the size of Shonisaurus at around 15 and 20 meters long.  That is huge at 50-65 feet long.  The elevation of the find shows how much tectonic activity has moved the once bottom-of-the-sea that high altitude.

But what is even more exciting is the third specimen.  It consists of only a tooth from an Ichthyosaur.  The tooth was bigger than any other Ichthyosaur tooth ever found.  My wife and I did the math.  IF the tooth is the same proportional size as other Ichthyosaur teeth then that makes this new Ichthyosaur somewhere around 177 feet or 54 meters long!!!  There is some thought that maybe the tooth is from an Ichthyosaur that just had extra long teeth.  But if the tooth is the same proportional size as other Ichthyosaur teeth then this new animal was bigger than a blue whale.  If fact it would have been 77 feet longer than a blue whale and certainly heavier as well!

These animals were found in rock that came from sediment that was 205 million years ago.  Plus the rock was from sediment that was once a shallow part of the sea.  That was a new discovery from Ichthyosaurs.  Previously it was thought that Ichthyosaurs lived only in deep ocean water.

Notice the scuba diver in the drawing.  No, no humans were around 205 million years ago to “swim with the Ichthyosaurs.”  I added the scuba diver to help you appreciate the massive size of this as-yet-named Ichthyosaur.  I did measurements to get the scale correct but I may still have drawn the scuba diver too large!  Can ya BELIEVE the SIZE of this HUGE Ichthyosaur?!  Well, at least it is its POSSIBLE size.

Plesiosaur Mother & Calf

Mosasaur without an Eel-like Tail

Previously we thought all Mosasaurs had an ell-like tail.  But, more recent

discoveries indicate that the later or "derived" Mosasaurs had a tail fluke.

So here is pretty much the same drawing with a tail fluke.

NOTE:  To get to the printable versions of these new drawings just click on the "Paleontology" button on the top of the page.  Look for the "Mesozoic" section of the list.  Then scroll down to the bottom of that part of the list. New drawings are always at the bottom of the correct list.  In the list, you will find many other printable drawings of Marine Reptiles.  Those drawings are further up the list.

Jayrendil the Elf & Mintelian the Goldendoodle and other Doggy coloring pages

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog.  Or welcome back!

Today's new drawing is in honor of a great friendship of

a Goldendoodle and a young Elven Boy.

Jayrendil the Elf and Mintelian the Goldendoodle

Jayrendil is a young Elven Boy.  He was great friends with his Goldendoodle named Mintelian.  They would run and play together - along with Jayrendil's siblings - in the nearby woods.  They lived on a beautifully cared-for Elven farm that was actually located on the edge of the Shire.  So they were good friends with the hobbits.  Jayrendil and his family were actually Wood Elves who fell in love with the Shire on a visit.  So they chose to move there and start a farm that raised herbs for medicinal purposes, like Lavender.

Unfortunately, Mintelian got injured by a poisoned orc arrow and she fell very sick.  Even Jayrendil's Elven  Healer - Uncle Elrandian, could not save her.  So Mintelian crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  Her family was very sad, but they knew that dogs, like people, have a spirit, and thus when they pass on they go to the Spirit World.  My suspicion is that they go to live with their mortal family's ancestors.  In fact, I figure our past pets are now in the Spirit World with my mom and my mother-in-law - who both loved little animals.

This drawing is a tribute to Mintelian the Goldendoodle, who was a great family dog!

By the way, designer dogs were first invented by the Elves.  You may think that Elves are only a thing of the past.  But they can magically hide their pointed ears from mortals.  So Elves live among us in the modern world.  We mortals, are just clueless about their existence.

NOTE:  This drawing will be found, in printable form, by clicking on the button labeled:  Fantasy, Myths, and Circus.  Then scroll down to the bottom of the list to get the printable page.  Have fun coloring.  By the way, I also posted the printable drawing at the bottom of the "Animals" list and in the "Animals" section of "All Printables."   Below are some other pet drawings that I have done in the past.  They are found, in printable form, further up the "Animals" list.

Jesus Raises Lazarus coloring page

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing is of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

It is a drawing I did of Jesus raising his friend Lazarus from the dead.

Jesus raises Lazarus

Jesus received a message from his friends Mary and Martha.  The message said that their brother Lazarus was very sick and probably dying.  Jesus delayed leaving and when He finally arrived Lazarus was dead and buried.  But Jesus still comforted Mary and Martha and then He cried with them as well.  But next He cried out:  "Lazarus come forth!"

Lazarus returned from the grave.  He was wrapped in cloth strips - probably.  Jesus commanded that they loose Lazarus from the wrappings.  Jesus knew that Lazarus was about to come back to life yet he still honored Mary's and Martha's grief by crying with them.  Then Jesus commanded the men to remove the stone from the sepulcure before He, Jesus, said, "Lazarus come forth!"

The Jewish leaders were very annoyed at this public miracle.  They decided to kill Jesus AND Lazarus.

Piperia the Pet Fairy with Mookia the Doggy and other Pet Fairy coloring pages

Today's free coloring page is a tribute to

a sweet doggy that has crossed the Rainbow Bridge to Doggy Heaven.

The doggy is named Mookie, but I have "Fairyized" the name.

The little girl is "Mookia's" friend.

She is a Pet Fairy... in the drawing... and her name is Piperia.

Piperia the Pet Fairy with Mookia the Doggy

Piperia is a Pet Fairy. Like all Pet Fairies Piperia loves animals, particularly animals that humans and Fairies keep as pets.  There are actually Fairies with what we humans would think of as unusual pets.  One Pet Fairy named Laurentia had a Box Elder Bug as a pet.

In this drawing, you can see that Piperia the Pet Fairy is in human form.  All Fairies can change from their natural state of about 5 inches tall to human or mortal size.  Of course, you can see that Piperia is a little girl Fairy, so she would be, in her natural Fairy size, about 2 1/2 inches tall.  5 inches would be about the size of adult Fairies.  You should know that many Fairies choose to be clothed in plant-based clothing.  Hence Piperia is wearing a leaf dress.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the rather long list of drawings to get your printable version of this drawing.  Below are a few other Pet Fairies I have drawn in the past.  Remember that Fairies have unusual pets sometimes.  In fact, there are a lot of Bird Fairies that are also Pet Fairies. Please note that the below coloring page drawings are all in the Fantasy, Myths, and Circus section, but these older drawings will be further up the list of printables.  Have fun coloring!

This is actually a detailed drawing that I did a few years ago.  It is done in pastel chalk.

The Pet Fairy is named "Laurentia" and she is seen here with her pet Box Elder Beetle.

Majungasaurus near a Volcano and Majungasaurus the Unicorn Dinosaur coloring pages

This is my free coloring pages blog.

There are over 2700 drawings on this blog.

You can print the drawings for free and then color them.

Today's new drawing is of a Theropod carnivorous dinosaur

named Majungasaurus.

Majungasaurus near a Volcano

Majungasaurus was a mid-sized Theropod dinosaur from the island of Madagascar.  Madagascar is over 70 million years old and it is the oldest island on Earth.  So Madagascar was around during the Mesozoic Era when dinos ruled the Earth.  In fact, like Hawaii, Madagascar was formed by a deep hot spot. So a drawing of Madagascar with an active volcano is accurate for 71 million years ago. Although in the present day the volcanos are either dormant or extinct.  But the hot spot is not far away.

Majungasuarus was around 23 feet or 7 meters long but some bigger individuals may have been larger - up to 26 1/4 feet or 8 meters long.  So, the "regular-sized" Majungasaurus weighed 2400 lbs or a mass of 1100 kg.  It was the top predator of Madagascar 71 million years ago in the late Cretaceous.

Possessing a shorter snout than most Theropods it was still a deadly killer with a very powerful bite.  It had weak teeth that got replaced very frequently.  Its arms were even proportionally smaller than T. rex arms.  Majungasaurus's arms were pretty much useless.  It had a horn on its head so it has been called "The Unicorn Dinosaur" or "The Unicorn Theropod" because the horn was high on its skull (like where a unicorn's horn is located).

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, can be found by clicking on the Paleontology button and scrolling down.  New drawings are found at the bottom of the list.  But in the Paleontology list you need to scroll to the bottom of the "Mesozoic Life" section.  Below is an older drawing I did of Majungasaurus and it was posted previously on this blog.  It will be further up the list of printable Paleontology drawings.  To be honest, this older drawing probably has a longer snout than it should have.  But it is a pretty cool drawing!  Have fun coloring!!!

Singapore Dragon Fairy coloring page

Welcome or welcome back to my blog.

An especially warm welcome to those of you in Singapore.

I have had thousands of you people from Singapore checking out this

free coloring pages blog.  So I drew a Singapore Dragon Fairy.

Singapore Dragon Fairy

Singapore Dragon Fairies are particularly skilled at taming Dragons.  These Fairies have some of the most powerful magic in the Fairy Realm.  These Fairies are also very convincing when they reason with a Dragon.  Some people think that the reason Singapore Dragon Fairies are so successful is that Dragons appreciate and are more easily swayed by beauty.  Both female and male Singapore Fairies are known for their amazing appearance.  (I am planning on drawing more female Dragon Fairies and at least one male Dragon Fairy that are from Singapore at a later date.)

I want to point out that Fairies in general often have semi-symmetrical wings.  So this Fairy has wings that are similar but not exactly the same.  Can you see the differences?

Notice the two Dragons that are flying off in the distance.  These are actually very small dragons so they are flying just short ways behind Olea.  And Olea is in her natural 12.7 cm. size.  By the way, Olea is the name of this beautiful female Fairy.  She tames dragons to not hurt or eat humans or human's domesticated animals.  Kaida or mini-Dragons actually like olives so Olea trains the dragons to eat olives.  Yes, there ARE olive trees in Southeast Asia... although there are no olive trees in this drawing.

Kaida still like to have fun spouting flames rather often when they fly.  Of course, most mortals can't see the Dragon Fire but magical beings like Fairies can see the fire.  I should mention that mortals who are Fairykind are able to see the Dragons and the Dragon Fire.  To be Fairykind you need to be close friends with a Fairy... or married to a Fairy.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking the button labeled: "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll to the bottom of the list.  New drawings are always at the bottom of the correct list.
