Today's
new drawing
is a
Wildlife Fairy.
Tania the Wildlife Fairy
Tania is one of the Fairies that specializes in protecting the animals of Nature. She especially loves the wetlands or marshes. She is seen here near a river and we see several types of wild animals nearby. Most of the wildlife are birds and indeed Tania loves birds. The bird on the stump is a Common Grackle. The birds in the water include a Western Grebe and a Mallard Duck. The birds that are flying are Sandhill Cranes.
You might have noticed that Tania has on a flying belt. Many Fairies wear flying belts for flying further distances and for flying at great speed. Also, Tania is seen here in mortal size. She can, of course, change back to her natural Fairy size of 5 inches or 12.7 cm. Tania's wings are similar to bird wings. Some Fairies DO have bird-like wings. Tania can fly without the aid of the flying belt, but to keep a watch on the many forms of wildlife in the wetlands she often uses her flying belt. In fact, she has been know to fly up to 12,000 feet high and Tania likes to fly with large flocks from time to time. To do this she transforms herself into the size of a crane and uses a cloaking charm to make her look like a Sandhill Crane to mortal eyes. If you saw her flying with a swoop of Sandhill Cranes (and maybe you have) . . . you would not see her as a Fairy. You would see another Sandhill Crane flying in the swoop. Tania, like all Fairies, can transform herself to many different sizes. To be the size of a Sandhill Crane she goes to around 47 inches or 119 cm. long.
The above drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths and Circus." There are a few other Fairy drawings below. All are Fairies that are friendly with wildlife.
I am adding a Wildlife Fairy Family that was done AFTER the top drawing on this post.
