There was a game during Joseph Smith's day called Stick Pull or Pulling Sticks. To win you had to pull your opponent up from their sitting position. Joseph Smith was very good at this game.
I drew this based on a Liz Lemon Swindle painting. She is a brilliant Latter-Day Saint artists. I drew Joseph competing with an adolescent young man.
If you wonder about Joseph being depicted with scruffy beard stubble and in a non-dignified way, realize that he told people that basically even a prophet needs time off. And Brother Joseph loved the youth.
