Resurrected Jesus leaves the Tomb coloring page

Resurrected Jesus leaves the Tomb

Tonight the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square had a broadcast of Handel's Messiah.  I did this drawing during the broadcast.  (By the way it was not a live broadcast.)  On the other hand, Jesus' resurrection WAS live!  I mean when Jesus was resurrected it really was a great event in the history of Earth.

By the way, if you want to watch the streaming of Handel's Messiah, you can go to this site:
The streaming performance is also available on the Choir's YouTube channel.

Jesus was the literal son of God.  His mother was Mary and His father was our Heavenly Father.  If you have wondered how this works, it all goes back to our premortal life.  We lived with our Heavenly Parents before we came to Earth.  We were spirit children of our Heavenly Parents.  Heavenly Father sent us to Earth to be tested.   But He knew that we all would mess up by sinning.  To deal with that problem, Jesus volunteered to be our Savior.  So in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross, He suffered and died for our sins.  He paid the eternal price for our sins so that we can repent and be resurrected.

So Jesus broke the bonds of death by being resurrected.  He was the first and all Mankind will follow.  If we are good people and die before Jesus comes back to Earth in Glory, then we will be resurrected upon His return.  Wicked people who have not repented will have to wait for 1000 years after the Second Coming of Christ.  They have to wait that long before they get resurrected.

So, I am so grateful to our Savior for dying for MY sins.  I know that when I die I will be in the Spirit World with Him.  I expect to find many of my extended family there too.  Then I will go to work teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those spirits who have not heard it or not accepted it yet.

I am not expecting to die soon, but if I do, I know that the next life is real.  I know that we all live beyond this mortal existence.  With so many people dying from the COVID 19 virus, many of us have been fasting and praying today for relief and a return to normalcy.  This is what our prophet, President Russell M. Nelson has invited everyone to do.

I want to make a quick note on this top drawing.  It shows Jesus as he leaves the tomb after His resurrection.  You might notice that I gave Him a lower hairline.  Because He was around 33 years old when He died Jesus is often drawn with a receding hairline.  But the scriptures say that we will be resurrected and not so much as a hair of our head will be lost.  So I decided I could draw our resurrected Savior with all His hair. . . and with Him looking rather young.  Also, Jesus does not have a shadow because HE is the source of Light.

There are several more drawings of Jesus in Gethsemane and after His resurrection below.  These are older drawings.  The drawings can be found by clicking on the button up top labeled "Religious"  or clicking on "All Printables" or clicking on "Holidays."  Scroll down to see the title of drawings.  These are the Printable drawings in the lists.
