Katewynn the Elven Princess coloring page

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog!

Today's new drawing is of a beautiful Elven Princess.

Katewynn the Elven Princess

Katewynn is seen here relaxing near her home.  She is a beautiful and kind young Elven princess. But don't be fooled.  If you know about Elven longevity then you know that they can live almost indefinitely - if they are not killed in war or battle.  So although young by Elven standards, she is around 400 years old.  But for an Elf that is very young.

You should also not be fooled by her leisure wear dress.  She is a fierce warrior when it is necessary.

Elven princesses usually marry between 500 and 700 years of age.  They continue to appear to be in their 20s to the mortal eye.  It is not until an Elf reaches over 1000 years old that they even begin to look older than a young adult.

McKayliah the Unicorn Fairy coloring page

Today's new drawing that I have done for this free coloring page blog is of

McKayliah a Unicorn Fairy.

McKayliah the Unicorn Fairy

McKayliah is a Unicorn Fairy.  This means that she is very friendly with Unicorns.  Actually, almost all Fairies get along with Unicorns but some Fairies specialize in Unicorns.  McKayliah is one of those types of Fairies.

Not surprising is that she gets along with horses as well.  She knows that some Unicorns will run with the wild horses sometimes.  MOST mortals only see a horse but Fairies and a select few mortals can see Unicorns among the herd of "horses."

Unicorns are incredibly intelligent.  Horses are also more intelligent than most people are aware of.   But Unicorns are actually so intelligent that they are sentient beings like humans, Fairies, Dwarfs, Elves, and Merpeople.  You can include some Dragons in that list of sentient beings.

McKayliah likes to teach mortals about horses.  Sometimes she goes to mortal size and internalizes her wings to teach mortals how to ride and care for horses.  Because she is so kind, this includes helping mortals who have had traumatic experiences, etc. Riding horses helps them find some peace.  Once in a while, the mortals who are particularly traumatized are riding a Unicorn.  Unicorns are very kind and have lots of white magic so they really help soothe the souls of traumatized mortals.  Of course, the mortal rarely is aware that he or she is riding a Unicorn.

The Unicorn uses his or her magic to hide their horn.  The Unicorns actually can talk telepathically to Fairies and to a very few humans. Being empaths, the Unicorns can sense the troubled spirit of a mortal a Fairy, or any other sentient being.  Then while being ridden the Unicorn can telepathically soothe the troubled feelings of their rider.  The mortals really are unaware but they benefit greatly.

Many horses are part Unicorn.  But the offspring of a Unicorn and a horse rarely have a horn.  However, the offspring DO get a lot of their Unicorn parent's intelligence.  These part Unicorn horses are the type of horse that bonds strongly to the human (or Fairy) that is their particular friend.  I once had an experience with one of these part Unicorn horses.  She was a filly.  She was not quite big enough to ride.  She was owned by my niece.  More appropriately she was the particular friend of my niece. When the other horses were taken to be ridden by my brother-in-law and my daughter, Suzie the filly started to cry.  She laid her chin on my shoulder and I heard the words in my head, "They left me behind!"  She basically cried on my shoulder for quite some time.  Her happiness was restored when the other horses returned.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Scroll down to the bottom of the list of titles to get to this new drawing. Have fun coloring.  By the way, there are several Unicorn Fairy drawings in the Fantasy, Myths, and Unicorns list. Goliath vs David... and Goliath is about to LOSE! coloring page

It is Sunday so I drew a drawing from the Holy Bible.

I have drawn David and Goliath many times.

But I love drawing from that story.

So here is another one of my free coloring pages.

It is called "Goliath vs David."

Goliath vs David

This is a depiction of David using his sling to take out Goliath.  I drew them very close together.  IF David let Goliath get this close then the stone from David's sling would have maximum velocity and be the most deadly.  So maybe this drawing makes sense.

Notice the symbolism of the birds.  The giant has vultures on his side of the drawing and the shepherd boy has a dove on his side of the drawing.  This represents what was about to happen.  In fact, Goliath told David, "Come to me and I will give thy flesh to the birds of the air and beasts of the field!"

In fact, the opposite happened.  DAVID is the one who fed GOLIATH'S flesh to the birds etc.  It is not usually portrayed in kid movies of this event but David used Goliath's own sword to behead the giant.  What is always portrayed is David's verbal and non-verbal answers to the Philistine.   But not all of his answer is included in most of the David and Goliath movies.

David said, with great faith in the Lord, "...I come to thee in the name of the God of the armies of Israel whom thou has defied!  This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thy head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day to the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel."

David actually did do what he said he would do... with the help of the Lord.  Whatever age David was and whatever skill he had with a sling, it did take some divine intervention to help David knock Goliath out.  Then David took Goliath's own sword and beheaded the arrogant Philistine giant.

This story tells how great faith can accomplish miracles.  But I also think that David had prepared himself.  He most certainly had long hours to practice with his sling while watching the sheep.  So, in my opinion, God had some good material to work with.  David was close to God.  He was brave.  In fact, David had killed both a lion and a bear that tried to kill some of David's father's sheep.

David probably was in his teens when he slew Goliath.  But it still was a miracle.   No one really thought that David had a chance against an armed and possibly 9-foot-tall giant that was wearing armor over most of his body.

I forgot to mention that the dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit AKA the Holy Ghost.  So the dove is on David’s side of the drawing because David certainly had the Holy Spirit with him when he faced off against Goliath.

So as the prophet Brigham Young said, "Pray as if everything depended on God and work as if everything depended on you."

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the "Religious" button.  Then scroll down to the bottom of the "Old Testament" section for this title.  By the way, the Old Testament section has several drawings of David and Goliath.  May you, your child, or the children around you enjoy coloring this drawing.  May ANY adult who likes coloring also enjoy the coloring pages that I have drawn.

Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis teaching Chick to Hunt dinosaur coloring page

Today's new drawing on this free coloring pages blog is

a Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis mother teaching her young to hunt.

Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis teaching Chick to Hunt

As previously mentioned in a previous post, T. macraeensis was a large Tyrannosaur that preceded the arrival of the T. rex.  T. mcraeensis was about the same size but had smaller teeth and a smaller more narrow mouth.  It was still the top predator of its day... in the Late Cretaceous.  Here we see a Tyrannosaurus macraeensis teaching her surviving chick how to hunt.  Young Theropods like Tyrannosaurs are often called chicks.  And Tyrnnosaur chicks certainly had predators like Quetzalcoatlus.  Also, mammals probably plundered the dinosaur nests.

NOTE:  This drawing is found in printable form by clicking on the Paleontology button and scrolling down to the bottom of the Mesozoic Life section. Have fun coloring!

Afua the African Mushroom coloring page

You have found my free coloring pages blog.

Here there are over 2800 drawings that I have drawn.

The drawings are all available for you to print and color.

Today's new drawing is of an African Fairy.

Afua the African Mushroom Fairy

You may ask yourself, "Why is Afua not a Dragonfly Fairy?  The answer is that she has butterfly-style wings.  True Dragonfly Fairies have lacewings like a dragonfly.

About Afua.  She is a beautiful African Mushroom Fairy.  The mushroom she is standing on is found only in Africa.  Her wings are also from an African butterfly.  So since she is clearly standing on a mushroom she is most likely a Mushroom Fairy.  She gathers mushrooms for her village.  Fairies know which mushrooms are good for gourmet eating and which mushrooms have medicinal value.

Although Afua is not a Dragonfly Fairy I want to tell you about this pretty dragonfly.  It is a new species to Science.  The dragonfly is a Polychrome Jewel Butterfly.  It has an iridescent dark green or black thorax and a red-orange and yellow or blue abdomen with a black tip on the end.

A New Armored Sauropod from India Tharosaurus indicus - dinosaur coloring page

You have found my free coloring pages blog.

There are many many drawings here that I have drawn and you can download them for free!

Today's new drawing is of a new Sauropod from India.

New Armored Sauropod from India Tharosaurus indicus

Today's new dinosaur is a bit of a game-changer.  Sauropods were the biggest land animals to ever walk on Earth.  This new discovery is of a somewhat early Sauropod that was found in India. There is even thought that perhaps the early prosauropods or other common ancestors originated in what is now India.  It seems to have lived there when India was still part of Pangea.  It or its ancestors radiated throughout the world.  Then the huge Sauropods went on to evolve on every single continent.

Tharosaurus was a type of Diplodocus and is the earliest known to science. It is the first found in India.  Tharosaurus indicus was about half as big as its later cousin Diplodocus.  It was about 43 feet long or around 13 meters.  It had a mass of around 26 metric tonnes or about 56 tons.  That would be about 112,000 pounds.

Shannonia the Lake Fairy with Mallard Ducks coloring page

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today the new drawing for printing and coloring

is of a Lake Fairy named Shannonia.

Shannonia the Lake Fairy with Mallard Ducks

Shannonia is a Lake Fairy.  She technically is also a Bird Fairy who loves and cares for Mallard Ducks. Lake Fairies are a type of Water Fairy.   Some Water Fairies have fin-like wings for swimming in the water.  Of course, they can still fly with their wings.   This Lake Fairy is about 3 feet tall.  She can easily transform to her natural Fairy size of 5 inches or even transform to full mortal size. Like nearly all Fairies, Shannonia is wearing her flying belt or Balteaus Volantum.  This allows her to fly at great speed and for great distances.  Without it, she would probably not be able to fly with the Mallards.  Of course, all Fairies with wings can fly without the flying belt, however, they just can't fly as far or as fast when they don't have a flying belt. It may come as a surprise to you, but Fairies actually have high tech.

She is the protector and even friend of waterfowl that come to her lake.  She speaks their languages and she can and does fly with them... sometimes on their migrations.  However, she only flies about 100 miles from the lake she calls home.  Sometimes Shannonia will fly upriver and downriver of the river that connects to her lake.  Lake Fairies are also often called River Fairies.  I suppose some River Fairies prefer the faster-moving water so they are exclusively River Fairies.  Maybe it would be best to call these two types of Fairies "Fresh Water Fairies."  After all, rivers and lakes are both fresh water.

By the way, the Mallard Ducks that are in this drawing are the most common ducks in North America.  The males have an iridescent green or almost blue-green head and are called "greenheads."

I should also mention that the name "Shannonia" means lake or wetlands or wise river or even possessor of wisdom.  But a shanonia is a wetland with grasses, reeds, and other herbaceous plants.  Since there is a palm tree or cycad tree you know this wetland area is probably somewhere in Southern North America... like Florida or maybe parts of Mexico.  If you want feel free to draw more plants in this drawing.  There is plenty of room for more plants.

Mermaid named Reagan with Frigate Birds coloring page

Today's new drawing, on this free coloring pages blog,

is a drawing I did of a Mermaid.

Mermaid named Reagania with Frigate Birds

Mermaids are often friendly with other ocean creatures, such as these Frigate Birds.  Did you know that a Frigate Bird can fly without landing for 2 months?

This Mermaid is named Reagania.  She is a beautiful blonde Mermaid who is seen here brushing her hair.  Mermaids will brush their hair both underwater and while sitting on a rock or the seashore.

Jesus Christ in the Americas coloring page

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog...

or welcome back!

While watching our church today I drew a picture of Jesus Christ.

I was watching an online Zoom feed of church instead of attending in person

because we still are getting over COVID-19.

Jesus Christ in the Americas

In the Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ, we read of

the resurrected Savior visiting His people in the Americas.  He taught them His

Gospel of Faith, Repentance, and Baptism plus the Laying on of Hands

for the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

NOTE:  This drawing is basically a portrait so it kinda fades out at the bottom.

To get to the printable version of this drawing you need to click on the

"Religious" button and scroll down to the bottom of the

"Restoration or Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint topics...

including the Book of Mormon drawings" section.

Then click on the title that says "Jesus Christ in the Americas"

and you will get the printable version of this drawing.

Please know that some of the first drawings on the long lists require

permission to print.  It will automatically send me a request for permission

to print.  However, this is only for the first few drawings.  Google put in

a security update that caused this problem, however, most of my drawings can

be printed automatically and don't need special permission.

Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis from New Mexico - and Ancestor of T. rex coloring page

Welcome or welcome back.

This is a free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing that you can print and color

is of a new type of Tyrannosaurus called

Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis

Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis

This large dinosaur was found in New Mexico.  It was as large as T. rex or about 40-44 feet long.

It was an ancestor to the T. rex that appeared later.  Tyrannosaurus macraeensis lived 72- 73 million years ago.  Tyrannosaurus rex appeared around a million years ago.  Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis had a narrower snout - especially it had a narrower jaw.  It also had smaller teeth than T. rex.  But since it had a clear overbite, its top teeth probably were visible when the mouth was closed.

Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis was still clearly the top predator of its day in Western North America.

Tyrannosaurus mcraensis fossils were found several years ago but only recently has it been identified as a unique species.  It was found in the state of New Mexico in the United States of America.  There is another unique thing about this new to-science species.  It lived around 100 miles from the nearest ocean.  Most if not all other large Tyrannosaurs appear to have lived within 10-50 miles from the coast.

There were actually several known species of large Tyrannosaurids.  These include Albertosaurus, Daspletosaurus, Gorgosaurus, Lythronax, and Tarbosaurus - to name a few.  There were other smaller ancestral Tyrannosaurids.  This new find, Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis, was actually fully as big as Tyrannosaurus rex, and that is probably the most surprising find.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, can be found by clicking on the button labeled "Paleontology."  Then scroll to the bottom of the "Mesozoic Life" part of the Paleontology list.  New drawings are found at the bottom of the list.  Of course, this will only be a new drawing now... in early January 2024.  If you are accessing this page at a later date then the printable drawing's title will be further up the list of Mesozoic Life drawings.  Below is an older drawing of a large Tyrannosaurid.  This smaller Tyrannosaurid is from what is now the state of Utah, USA.  This drawing is from a previous post.  So the printable version of this drawing is found further up the list of Mesozoic drawings that are on the Paleontology page.

Lexionia the Healer Fairy rescues a Lost Goldendoodle coloring page

This is my free coloring pages blog.

There are almost 3000 drawings that you can print and color.

Since I am feeling better after round 3 of COVID-19

I have been doing some detailed drawings of people.

Of course, these real people are being drawn as Fantasy Characters.

Yesterday's drawing and today's drawing are of Fairies.

Lexionia the Healer Fairy

Lexionia is one of those Fairies who internalizes her wings and works in the mortal world among us.  She actually works as a dog groomer.  Her OTHER job, in the Fairy Realm, is rescuing lost pets.  She has a particular affinity for finding lost doggies.  Here Lexionia is rescuing a lost Goldendoodle puppy.

You can see that Lexionia (Lexi for short) is coming in for a landing.  Since the Goldendoodle puppy is small you should know that Lexi is not in full human size.  Like all Fairies, Lexi can transform from her 5-inch tall Fairy size to about 5'5" mortal size.  Here she is about three feet tall.  She can actually transform to any size between five inches and six feet tall.

NOTE:  This drawing is found, in printable form, by clicking on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths and Circus."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the list of drawings.  New drawings are always at the bottom fo the correct list.

Alexiadriah the Healer Fairy coloring page

This is a new drawing that was done in detail.

The model is one of the three people I agreed to draw... but I had not

done the drawings due to having COVID.  I am doing better now.

So, here is a drawing of a beautiful Healer Fairy named Alexiadriah.

Alexiadriah the Healer Fairy

Alexiadriah is a Healer Fairy.  She is seen here gathering watercress from a forest or mountain stream.  She is actually spectacularly beautiful!  But like many beautiful women (or female Fairies), she doesn't really know how beautiful she actually is.  She is a Healer Fairy and that should tell you that she has a good heart.  You could also say that she also has a kind heart.  So she is both beautiful and very kind.  And a healer also has to be very intelligent - so she is that too.  She works with older and injured Fairies.  Although Fairies can live for an incredibly long time, they DO get old eventually.

Alexiadriah is gathering watercress to use in Fairy Medicine and Fairy dishes.  Fairies actually have higher and more advanced technology than we mortals.  They can extract certain nutrients from the watercress.  Fairies also can fly using just their wings.  But they have advanced hovering technology that they use to allow them to fly at great speed & for great distances.  Alexiandriah is wearing a Balteum Volantes or flying belt.  This belt is what contains the hi-tech to fly so fast and so far.

So why is Alexiadriah gathering watercress?  Well, it is a superfood.  Watercress supports both vision and bone health.  It also is known to enhance athletic performance.  Plus watercress has a high nutrient density - especially in Vitamin K.  These nutrients help Fairies perform at a high athletic level when they are flying or doing anything really.  Some nutrients in watercress are particularly good for senior Faires... or senior humans.  Those ingredients include carotenoids, zinc. and Vitamin C.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled: "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the list to see the title of this new drawing.  Click on it and you will get the printable drawing.   Of course, if you are accessing this page way after Jan. 9, 2024, then you will find the drawing title further up the list.   Have fun coloring!

Carnotaurus with Stripes coloring page

This is the last of several ink drawings I did when I had COVID.

I will be working on some drawings of some people who agreed to be drawn.

To you three people, sorry about the delay.  COVID took away my motivation

and I could only get myself to draw simple ink drawings.

Those three fantasy character drawings of you three will be posted over the next few days.

This last drawing is of a Carnotaurus.

Carnotaurus with Stripes

Carnotaurus was a large but not huge Theropod dinosaur that lived in what is now Argentina, South America.  It lived in the Late Cretaceous.  It had two horns on its head that may have been for sexual display or to identify other Carnotaurs.

Although Carnotaurus bore a simple resemblance to a T. rex, it was quite a bit smaller.  T. rex could grow up to 44 feet long.  Carnotaurus was about 25 feet long.

In the excellent movie "Disney's Dinosaur" they call it "a Carnotaur" or "two Carnotaurs" The Carnotaurs are the top predators in the movie.  But, they are definitely drawn too big.  Iguanodon, in reality, was a 33-foot-long herbivore and Carnotuarus was only 25 feet long.  That is NOT how they are portrayed in the movie.  However, Carnotaurus was an Albelisaur and there WERE other somewhat larger Albelisaurs.  All Abelisaurs had shorter snouts and narrower snouts compared to most other Theropods.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Paleontology."  Then, scroll down to the bottom of the list.  Have fun coloring!

Mommy Rabbit and Baby Bunny coloring page

This is another ink drawing coloring page.

My 4-year-old granddaughter asked me to draw this picture.

Mommy Rabbit and Baby Bunny

Our granddaughter loves bunnies.  She especially likes a drawing of a bunny and her mommy.

Note:  This drawing is found, in printable form, by clicking on the Animals button.  Then scroll down to the bottom of the list of animal drawings.  Have fun coloring!

F-86 Sabrejet coloring page

Here is one more ink drawing.

Remember that these drawings are done in ink so

they have less detail than most of my more recent drawings.

These ink drawings are also less perfect.

But they will still be fun for kids to color.

By the way, there are three people I will work on drawing soon.

Sorry about the delay.  COVID really has cramped my style for 2 weeks.

All I could talk myself into doing were these simple ink drawings.

F-86 Sabre

The F-86 Saberjet was the primary USA high-altitude fighter jet of the Korean War.  It had a wingspan of 37.5.  It was 37l1 feet long.  The American fighter pilots were better trained than the Soviet, North Korean and Chinese pilots.  These pilots were flying the MIG-15 against the American F-86.

The F-86 could fly at a top speed of 685 mph.  It could climb at a rate of 9,850 feet per minute.  It had a combat range of over 1000 miles.  It first flew in October of 1947.  It had an armament of six .50 caliber machine guns.  9860 Sabrejets were built, of various versions.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Vehicles and Military Vehicles."  Then just scroll to the bottom of the list of vehicle drawings.  Have fun coloring!

Captian Moroni coloring page

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing is another quick ink drawing.

Don't be too critical of my ink drawings.

I can't fix errors so this drawing does have some problems.

Captain Moroni near a Nephite City

I have done drawings of Captain Moroni before.  He was a great Nephite general.  He believed in defending freedom and only fought wars to defend his people.  He was also a Christian who held to his beliefs.  On top of that, he was a very good general who believed in making preparations for war in case the enemy attacked... but not starting the war.  He also used strategy to deceive the enemy and win the battle and war.  He is described as a very good man who loved freedom but did not love war.

Note:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the "Religious" button and then scrolling down to the bottom of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints / Book of Mormon section.

Another Firefly Fairy coloring page

As I mentioned a few days ago, I have several drawings that were

done rather quickly in ink.  SOME pencil shading was done in

some of the drawings.  These drawings today are kind of

a sample from several categories of drawings

on this free coloring pages blog.

However, they are done faster than some of my better drawings.

I will continue to post these drawings, starting with a Firefly Fairy.

Please remember that these are fast drawings in ink so I

could not fix mistakes nor draw in great detail.

Firefly Fairy with Firefly by a River

Firefly Fairies are nocturnal and love to play with Fireflies.

In fact, Firefly Fairies are friendly to Fireflies. This drawing

shows the firefly near the water feature of a slow-moving river.

Fireflies love slow or stagnant water.

Triceratops near an erupting Volcano coloring page

Hi everyone. For my regular visitors, I apologize for not posting in a while.

We had COVID and I did not feel up to posting for a while.

Today our new post is of a Triceratops horridus

Triceratops near an erupting Volcano

Triceratops horridus was a 30-foot-long herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous Period at the same time as Tyrannosaurus rex.  It had huge brow horns for both defense and very likely for sexual selection... meaning to impress the females.

The Pterosaur in the drawing is a Pteranodon, a common Pterosaur from the late Cretaceous Period.  Pteranodon had an 18-foot or 5.6-meter wide wingspan.  It was a toothless fish eater that may have dived into the water to catch fish.

The erupting volcano in the distance is a growing stratovolcano.  It has clear lava flow evidence and it is in a large eruption with lava bombs and lava AND ash blowing out of the top.   Stratovolcanoes have ash eruptions and then lava eruptions that create a layered effect on the volcano.

You may have noticed no little spikes or triangular bones along the edge of the frill.  John Horner, the famous paleontologist, has a theory that those bones are absorbed into the frill as the adult Triceratops matures.  He also theorizes that the horns start pointing forward only in fully grown and sexually mature adults.

This is an ink drawing with some shading in pencil.  The ink part was drawn with a fine-point soft-tip pen.  To get to the printable version of the drawing just click on the button labeled "Paleontology" and scroll down to the bottom of the Mesozoic Life part of the list.  Have fun coloring!
