This is a free coloring pages blog. There are over 1,000 free to print drawings.
Today the new drawings are of a Welsh Dinosaur and a Welsh Dragon.
This is the first pair of drawings that have a Dinosaur or Pterosaur with a dragon name . . .
along with a type of dragon known from the legends or mythology of the nearby area.
I will be posting several more drawings with a Dragon and a Dinosaur or Pterosaur.
Each will be from a different part of the world.
I will post each of these pairs of drawings in English and then IF POSSIBLE I will also translate the post into the language of the local area for the dinosaur and dragon.
Dracoraptor a Welsh Dinosaur
Dracoraptor was an early raptor from the Early Jurassic. It lived in what is now Wales. Dracoraptor was probably about 9.8 feet or 3 meters long. The only known specimen was a juvenile. This type of dinosaur was a neoraptorid. That means it was an early raptor. It may have had feathers like we know later raptors had, but perhaps those feathers were just protofeathers. That is how I drew this Dracoraptor. You may also notice that it does not have the large killer toe claw like the more evolved raptors would have millions of years later. Dracoraptor means "Dragon Theif."
Below is the Welsh Dragon. The Welsh Dragon is on the flag of Wales. In the Welch language it is called "Y Ddraig Goch," and that means red dragon. So if you want to color this drawing red you would be accurate. By the way, I am half Welsh because my mother's side of my family immigrated to the USA from Wales.
NOTE: These drawings can be found, in printable form, by clicking on the correct button up top. The button takes you to a printable version of the drawings. Just scroll down to the bottom of the drop-down menu to get to the new drawing.
