Brother of Jared sees the Lord's Finger
(This is a new drawing.)
The Jaredites are a group of people who moved from the old world to the new world around 2,200 B.C. They were led away from the Tower of Bable by God. They eventually settled in the New World somewhere. There is speculation among members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints about where the Jaredites lived. There is also speculation about where the Nephites, Mulekites, and Lamanites lived. The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ tells of these groups of people who lived somewhere in the New World.
When the Jaredites were traveling in the Old World they arrived at the ocean and were commanded to build barges to cross the "great deep." The barges were peaked and could be sealed up tight. Then, their prophet, who was the Brother of Jared, asked God what to do so that they could have light in the barges. The Lord basically asked him, "What do you want me to do about it?"
Believing that God helps us after we had done all that we can, the Brother of Jared, also known as Mahonri Moriancumr, smelted 16 small stones (probably out of quartz) to make glass. The Brother of Jared then took the glass stones up to a mountain where he asked God to touch the stones to make them glow. That way his people could use the stones for light inside the barges.
God must have liked the idea because He reached out from in a cloud and touched each of the 16 stones and they began to glow. So the Brother of Jared made the light bulbs and God lit them up. The Lord then showed His entire Spirit Body to the Brother of Jared. This God was God the Son, or Jesus Christ. He had a Spirit Body before He came to Earth. Jesus, before He came to Earth, was also called Jehovah.
The Brother of Jared was shown amazing things about the Earth and the people of the Earth that included visions of the future. He wrote it all down but was commanded to seal it up. It is thought that we will get that record when Jesus returns to Earth and ushers in 1,000 years of peace. We call that time of peace "The Millenium." For 1,000 years there will be no wickedness, no disease, and no hate on our planet. I look forward to that day.
We also believe that those who have died in the Lord will return to Earth as resurrected beings. So there will still be mortals raising their kids during The Millenium, but there will also be righteous resurrected people living here on Earth. Jesus will also be living here and reigning. We believe that those who are sealed in God's Temple can be sealed for time and all eternity. So the righteous will be resurrected at the start of the Millenium, the wicked will have to wait 1,000 years for their chance to be resurrected. Also, we will be organized by families.
I should mention that those people who have already died now live in the Spirit World. They are organized by families there too. The righteous spirits who have accepted the Gospel of Jesus Christ endeavor to teach the other spirits about Jesus Christ and His atonement for our sins. The wicked suffer for their sins in the Spirit World.
I also should mention that the Jaredites became very wicked after around 1,600 years and eventually they were wiped out in a civil war that ended around 600 B.C. Their last king, Coriantamr, lived long enough to see one of the other groups possess the land. He died while living with the Mulekites.
