Alma baptizes in the Waters of Mormon coloring page

Alma was once an evil man.  He was one of King Noah's evil priests.  But instead of rejecting the teachings of the brave prophet, Abinadi, (like the other priest did), Alma accepted Abinadi's teachings.

Alma recognized that he was living an evil life.  (He was basically a party animal with the king and his other evil priests.)  But Alma felt bad for what he had done.

Alma even tried to defend Abinadi before King Noah.  Because of this the king threw Alma out and sent soldiers to kill Alma.  But Alma ran and hid in some trees by what must have been a beautiful body of water that the Nephites (and maybe Lamanites) called The Waters of Mormon.

Alma repented of his sins.  That means that he felt sorry for what he had done, asked God for forgiveness, asked any people he offended for forgiveness, and made a huge effort to not repeat his sinful behavior.

In fact, Alma began to teach the words of the Prophet Abinadi to King Noah's people.  But he, Alma, had to teach in secret because the king wanted to kill him.  Eventually Alma was able to baptize many converts to Christ in the Waters of Mormon.

But the king had spies who figured out what was going on and he sent his armies to kill the believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  So the Lord warned Alma and Alma and his converts fled King Noah and set up a new community (Helam) several days journey away.

NOTE:  I meant to draw and post this earlier.  It goes with the lesson for Sunday School for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  This drawing can be found, in printable form,  by clicking on the correct button.  New drawings are located at the bottom of the lists. I also am again posting the drawing from last week of Abainadi before King Noah.  Alma is the priest at the far right. So click on . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . .
