Today's new drawing is of a fight between Triceratops and T. rex.
The T. rex is losing in this fight.
T. rex loses to Triceratops
We know that fights like this took place because there have been coprolites found with Triceratops bones in it. In those fights obviously, T. rex won. But Triceratops and T. rex did coevolution which means that they evolved in an arms race. So as Tyrannosaurs got bigger then so did the Ceratopsians. Eventually the biggest Tyrannosaur, Tyrannosaurus rex had a length of around 42 feet and a weight of somewhere around 19,555 lbs. Conversely, Triceratops was up to 26,000 lbs or 11,793 kg... and was up to 30 feet or 0.14 meters long.
T. rex was armed with very powerful jaws that could even crush bone. It also had claws on its large feet and very powerful legs. Its hand claws probably were too small to be of any use in a fight. Triceratops had brow horns, or supraorbital horns, that were at least 3.3 feet or 1 meter long. The pivot joint that connects the head to the neck was a ball joint in a Triceratops so it could swing its head like a swordsman wielding two swords at once. Plus Triceratops had powerful muscles to swing its head and horns in its defense.
Some Paleontologists have said that Triceratops horridus would have nearly always lost to Tyrannosaurus rex. T. rex was powerful, but it was not invincible. Judging from the smaller size of this Triceratops, it is a sub-adult with an attitude!
