Today's new drawing is of a large Pterasaur called Ornthocheirus.
Nesting Ornithocheirus
Ornithocheirus lived in the Cretaceous Period. It was large but there is currently some controversy on exactly how big it was. Some estimates say up to 40 feet wide wingspan but other estimates say more like 15-20 feet wide. Either way, it was a large animal with a weight somewhere between 100 and 200 lbs. It is thought that it probably migrated like the modern albatross.
Ornitrhocheirus were fish eaters and yet had teeth that were less poked out than many other Pterosaurs. In other words, its teeth were more perpendicular to its jaw and skull. Ornithocheirus is featured in the Walking With Dinosaurs documentary in the Giant of the Sky episode.
