This is my free coloring pages blog.
Today I am posting several drawings or coloring pages that I have drawn.
These are all drawings of Fairies who are friendly with specific types of animals.
Click Beetles are a type of beetle that has parts that glow like a firefly. Bioluminescent Fairies are friendly with glowing animals. They include fireflies, click beetles, and glow worms. This Fairy, whose name is Lucia, is on a stump with a click beetle. By the way, Lucia can actually glow, but she also can do it, as seen here when she makes a glowing light with her wand to attract the click-beetle.
Desert Night Fairy with Kangaroo Rat
Since it is so hot in the desert of the Southwest United States, being nocturnal or active at night is an advantage. Kangaroo Rats are small rodents that can hop around 3 feet a jump and get all the water they need from the seeds they eat. Dania, the Desert Fairy is out at night so she can be called a Desert Night Fairy.
As you can see, Dania is at her natural size of around 5 inches tall. Like all Fairies, she can transform to mortal size but here she is in her natural state. By the way, Dania is friendly with several species of desert rodents, like voles, deer mice, etc.
Boy River Fairy with Praying Mantis
This young boy River Fairy likes insects, especially praying mantes. The praying mantis prey, but their name is "PRAYing" mantis because they look like they are praying. One of the weirdest things in Nature is the praying mantis mating. The female eats the male, starting at his head, when they are mating.
Mountain Fairy with American Pika
Mountain Fairies like high altitudes. The thin air and cold do not really bother them. This Mountian Fairy loves Pikas. Pikas are high-altitude tailless rodents. So, obviously, Altius, the name of this Fairy, is in her natural state or Fairy size of around 5 or so inches tall. This drawing depicts her and her freind-pika in the summer. But it's probably the early summer because there is still snow on the higher distant mountain peaks.
Dragon Fairy with Enchanted Knife
Dragon Fairies are powerful, even though Drakia here looks very unassuming. She has with her an enchanted knife that acts like a wand. Dragons often respect a knife or sword - even though a wand is just as powerful as an enchanted knife. The rather grumpy dragon is discovering that she can not harm the Fairy. Drakia (the Fairy) has cast a protective charm that the dragon fire cannot penetrate. Drakia is not even worried, in fact, she is amused.
Drakia will soon have the dragon under control and send it back out into the wild. It was preying on human livestock and a danger to the mortal kingdom's citizens. Dragon Fairies often helped mortal communities with dragons. They still do, but most dragons nowadays are more docile and prefer life in the wild away from mortals. So, this scene is from many centuries ago.
Night Mushroom Fairy with Fireflies and Moth
This is a reworked drawing. But it is of a Mushroom Fairy who is also a Night Fairy. She is seen here with a moth and a pair of fireflies. She uses her wand to attract the bioluminescence insects. She is in her natural size or state of about 5 inches tall or so. The Fairy is named Lunia.
I will be posting more of these Animal Fairy drawings over the next couple of hours and maybe even more tomorrow.
