Today's
new post is
Chica the
Paint Horse.
Chica is a Paint Horse and she is so beautiful that I took a photo (see below) and drew her. She belongs to a local family who are dear friends of ours. Our daughter married their son so we are kind of family. They certainly have welcomed us into their family.
Paint Horses were developed with American Quarter Horses and Spotted Horse. They also included Thoroughbred horses in developing the breed. Paint Horses have the light-dark spotted pattern of a pinto horse and the characteristics of an American Quarter Horse.
I have always considered Paint Horses to be very beautiful animals. Below is the photo I took of Chica. You can color the coloring page like her or in any other colors you wish. The printable drawing can be found by clicking on the button labeled "Animals" and scrolling down. New drawings are at the bottom of the list. There are also other horse drawings below the photo. These drawings are from previous posts or older posts that I will re-post today.

(This is now a tamed Mustang Horse. I have ridden him. He's owned by my nephew-in-law.)
(This horse, Tug, is from the Ranger's Apprentice series of books. I highly recommend the books.)
We went to Iceland a few years ago and I took some great pictures of the Icelandic Horses.
They are NOT ponies, but they are stocky and a beautiful and a very hearty breed.
Below are some of those drawings. . . although one drawn from
a refrigerator magnet.
