Desert Fairy

Desert Fairy with Kangaroo Rat
(New drawing so at bottom of All Printables list and Fantasy Myths and Circus lists.
Lists are found by clicking on buttons up top.)

Desert Fairies care for the desert.  They often are friends with Kangaroo Rats.  This Desert Fairy is with a young Kangaroo Rat who she has befriended.  The Desert Fairies live underground.  When the desert hardpan is very hard, it is no trouble for Desert Fairies.  They have magic technology that we mortals don't understand.  So they can dig out nice homes underground or even is solid rock.  We mortals rarely see Desert Fairies because they are active at night when it is hot in the day.  In cooler months they will also be active in the day.  The above Desert Fairy has the Lacewing type of wings.  She can flap her wings like bee at a rate of like 150 times a minute.  This helps her stay cool when it is warm.   A note about Kangaroo Rats. . . Did you know that they pretty much never drink.  They get the water they need from the seeds that they eat.  This one is eating some grass seed.

Desert Fairy
(This is an older drawing so it will be further up the printables list.)

THIS Desert Fairy has the Butterfly Wings type of wing.  She is holding a Dune Sunflower.  She is not in her tiny Fairy Size.  Like all Fairies, she can change to full mortal size when there is a need.
