Welcome to my free coloring pages blog.
Today's new drawing is of a Catalpa Tree Fairy.
Tree Fairies - Catalpa Tree Fairy
Tree Fairies love certain Genus or species of trees. This is a Catalpa Tree Fairy. Catalpa Tree Fairies live in Asia and North America. This Catalpa Tree Fairy is named Analia. She is seen here in small form but not in her smallest form. The majority of Fairies can change sizes from tiny to bigger than mortals. We know she is not in the typical Fairy size of 5 inches because Catalpa leaves are quite large. Catalpa leaves can be up to 12 inches or 30 cm long. That means that Analia, in this drawing, is choosing to be about 2 1/2 feet tall. That is around 76 cm. Maybe this is a good size for her to harvest the fruit in those long sword-like pods.
The Catalpa is a large and beautiful tree with heart shape green leaves that are some of the larger tree leaves out there. The fruit is in a long sharp pod.
There are two species of Catalpa native to the United States of America and two species native to China. Only one of the Chinese species has edible fruit and the fruit is still very bitter. Don't eat America Catalpa seeds.
Some herbalists use parts of some types of Catalpa to make medicinal teas. But don't do this unless you know what you are doing. Fairy Healers know how to use Catalpa for medicinal purposes.
