The Percy Jackson series is a very well written series. It combines ancient Greek Mythology with modern times. In the book series the hybrid or half-blood children of Greek gods and mortals are living on Earth. These children are faced with major problems in as much as the monsters are after them. The only "safe" place is Camp Half-Blood. There the gifted children train and live. They are gifted with special abilities based on who their "god" parent is. Percy has amazing powers with water. Guess who his father is.
I found that these books are very well done and I am planning on reading the next series that were written by Rick Riordan. The "new" series is called The Heroes of Olympus. I plan to start reading them this fall.
This drawing shows a cyclops named Tyson. He is with a hellhound named Mrs. O'Leary. Mrs. O'Leary is the only hellhound who is known to be friendly.
