Welcome to my free coloring pages blog!
Today's new drawing is of Jesus in Capernaum.
Jesus in Capernaum
Capernaum was a fishing village in Jesus' day. It is thought by some Biblical historians that Jesus may have even owned a home there. It is referred to as his own village. It had a population of about 1500 people. Capernaum was the central site of Jesus' ministry when he was near home. Capernaum was the home of the tax collector and Apostle Matthew.
Several miracles were performed in Capernaum. Peter's mother-in-law was healed in Capernaum. The paralytic was lowered through the roof to be healed by Jesus in this town. Jesus healed a man in Capernaum. This man was possessed. A servant of a Roman Centurion was healed in Capernaum.
We believe that Jesus is our Savior. He paid the price, the eternal price for our sins so that if we repent we can return to live with our Heavenly Parents. Jesus is our elder Spirit Brother. He volunteered to be the Savior and He paid the price for our sins. He also taught us to be kind to each other and to keep God's commandments. But when we mess up... His atonement can cleanse us. And we ALL mess up or sin at some point in our lives... (many times actually).
NOTE: This drawing, in printable form, can be found by clicking on the category button labeled "Religious." Then scroll down to the New Testament section. Then this drawing will be at the bottom of that section. By the way, although it was not on purpose, I think the eyes look a bit like Peter O'toole's eyes from the movie The Bible... where he played either an angel or the premortal Lord that visited Abraham.
