Pentaceratops

Pentaceratops in the Jungle

Pentaceratops was a relative of the better known Triceratops.  It was a Ceratopsian dinosaur with three horns like Triceratops, but with another cheek horn on either side of the face.  This dinosaur was found in New Mexico, USA, North America.  It weighed around 5 tons and was 20 feet or 6 meters long.  Since TRIceratops means three horned face.... Pentaceratops means.... you geussed it:
FIVE horned face.

Like all Certatopsians, Pentaceratops was an herbivore.  It ate plants.  It was probably more of a browser so it ate primarily leaves and probably not so much grass.  However, grass HAD evolved by the late Cretaceous and had even radiated to at least five species.

NOTE:  Unlike most my drawings, this one is done with a ball point pen.  My windshield was being replaced and I was without one of my felt fine point markers.  This new drawing is found in printable form by clicking on the correct button up top and scrolling down the drop down menu to the correct title of picture.  So click on the buttons labled either. . . . .
