Desert Fairy

Desert Fairy with Kangaroo Rat
(New drawing so at bottom of All Printables list and Fantasy Myths and Circus lists.
Lists are found by clicking on buttons up top.)

Desert Fairies care for the desert.  They often are friends with Kangaroo Rats.  This Desert Fairy is with a young Kangaroo Rat who she has befriended.  The Desert Fairies live underground.  When the desert hardpan is very hard, it is no trouble for Desert Fairies.  They have magic technology that we mortals don't understand.  So they can dig out nice homes underground or even is solid rock.  We mortals rarely see Desert Fairies because they are active at night when it is hot in the day.  In cooler months they will also be active in the day.  The above Desert Fairy has the Lacewing type of wings.  She can flap her wings like bee at a rate of like 150 times a minute.  This helps her stay cool when it is warm.   A note about Kangaroo Rats. . . Did you know that they pretty much never drink.  They get the water they need from the seeds that they eat.  This one is eating some grass seed.

Desert Fairy
(This is an older drawing so it will be further up the printables list.)

THIS Desert Fairy has the Butterfly Wings type of wing.  She is holding a Dune Sunflower.  She is not in her tiny Fairy Size.  Like all Fairies, she can change to full mortal size when there is a need.

Tree Fairy named Megan

Tree Fairy named Megan

Of course a Tree Fairy is also called a Dryad.  Dryads protect their tree.  Some are involved in protecting the forest as a whole.  Fairykind appreciate all body types.  They see beauty everywhere and everyone.  There is a lot we can learn from Fiary culture.

I can tell you that the model for this was at Wizarding Dayz.  She was clearly a very nice person with very pretty eyes.  I asked if I could draw her as a Fairy.  Of course it is impossible to capure an exact likeness with a fine point marker.  But I do my best.  Also, beautiful people are beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.  Unkind people who match their society's vesion of beautiful always lose that beauty in my opinion if they are not kind, nice people.  In fact, somethimes the most beautiful people are not aware of how beautiful they are.  No, OFTEN the most beautiful people are unaware of how beautiful they are.  I put my wife in that category.

Also, beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.  Some societies have views of beauty that are way different from your own view.  But that does not mean they are wrong.  Their views are just different.  I have come to realize that beauty really does come in many forms and shades and etc.  My wife feels the same way.  We know some elderly people who are so beautiful.  They may not be on the cover of Glamour Magazine, but they are beautiful.

I also see beautiful poeple, both male and female, everywhere.  The CNAs who work where we have a family member are so beautiful.  I think that is in part because from what I've seen, Certified Nursing Assistants are kind people who love to care for the elderly.  They also care about the residents.  That is true beauty.

River Fairy Relaxing

River Fairy Relaxing

River Fairies protect the river and the surrounding riparian area.  The River Fairies are particularly beautiful.  Some actually live underwater, like mermaids.  Some live on land near the river.  As I have said before, some River Fairies use their wings as fins when swimming underwater.  This River Fairy is the Terrestrial type of River Fairy.  She lives on land near the river.  Her outfit is made of riparian tree lieaves.  That would be cottonwoods, box elder trees, willows, and etc.

Artist's Note:  Compare this drawing with my other two River Fairy drawings.  The above drawing was drawn today.  The below drawings were drawn earlier.  I have been working on my drawing of people in my art class and I have been practicing at home.  I drew the Fairy from a photo of a human or mortal model.

Austroposeidon the Biggest Dinosaur from Brazil

Austroposeidon
(New drawing so at the bottom of the Cretaceous Period list under All Printables button)

Austroposeidon was one of the Titanosaurs.  But it was not from Argentina like many of the other South American Titanosaurs.  It lived in what is now Brazil.  It is estimated to have been 82 feet or 25 meters long.  It probably weighed between 28 and 58 metric tonnes.  That is 31 to 64 short tons.

This dinosaur was smaller than the other known gigantic South American Sauropods.  Still. . . it was huge.  It was way larger than any known land animal living today.  For comparison, Patagotitan was possbily 69 metric tonnes or 76 short tons.  76 short tons would be 152,000 lbs or 68,946 kg.
Argentinosaurus was possibly just smaller than Patagotitan.

The cycad tree that is about to be eaten, in the above drawing, would have to be awfully tall. . . that, or the dinosaur is an adolescent.  One more thing, the Pterosaur in the above drawing is also from South America and also from the Cretaceous Period.  It is called Aerotitan.

The below drawings are older drawings so they are higher up on the printables lists.  By the way, the Paleontology button and the All Printables button will get you the printable versions of the drawings.

Tree Fairy

Fairy leans on a Tree

A Tree Fairy is sometimes called a Dryad.  They are often connected with their tree.  Others protect many trees, but like to focus on one species.  This Tree Fairy or Dryad is the latter type.  Fairies use charms instead of spells, but they do indeed often carry wands.  They are far more peaceful than mortals (as they call us).  The Fairies can also change from diminutive size or be mortal size.  This Tree Fairy is mortal size.

Artist Note:  The model for this drawing is a beautiful and also nice young woman who works at a doctor's office.  Her beautiful mother also works in the same office.  I also intend to draw them together.  It is challenging to capture such beauty with a fine point marker, but I do the best I can.

Baby Goat

Farm Girl holding Baby Goat

Of course a baby goat is called a kid.  This drawing was inspired by my grandniece.  Her family raises goats.  Goats are amazing animals.  They provide milk, meat, fur, and they are very sure footed pack animals.

Fairy with Butterfly

Fairy on a Leaf with Butterfly and Caterpillar

This is a little girl Fairy.  She is hanging out with a butterly and her friend the caterpillar.  The Monarch Butterfly of North America is an amazing animal.  It has DNA memory and remembers where to migrate.  It takes several generations for them to make it up to Canada from Mexico.  But the ones in Canada fly all the way back to Mexico in one flight.

Artist Note:  This is my attempt at drawing a Monarch Butterfly and a Moncarch Caterpillar. I know they are not perfect,  but they are not terrible either.  The model for this was my granddaughter.  We went to the Butterfly Biosphere at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah, USA. The butterflies are awesome but the play area is even more fun for young kids.
