Today I am posting a simple portrait of Jesus Christ.
I draw religious pictures - mostly Jesus - when we are at Church.
Drawing helps my ADHD mind pay attention better, and I don't fall asleep.
Jesus is our older Spirit Brother. Before we came to Earth, we lived with Him and our Heavenly Parents in a pre-Earth life. This is sometimes called the "Preexistence." In this preexistence, we had billions of Spirit brothers and sisters. This time included us progressing and getting ready to come to Earth and receive physical bodies. There was also a war in Heaven. Lucifer or Satan fought against Jesus and our Heavenly Father. Satan lost, and he and 1/3 of the hosts of Heaven were cast down to Earth. They have not passed through the veil WE passed through at birth.
In the premortal life, Jesus volunteered to be our Savior. He agreed to come to Earth as the Son of God and pay the eternal price for our sins. This is called the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The Atonement makes it possible for us to repent. Without Jesus, we could not repent, and we could never return to live with our Heavenly Parents. So as they say, "Jesus is the answer."
In His time on Earth, Jesus taught us to be kind to one another and to believe in Him. He also taught about repentance and forgiveness. He suffered for our sins and died for us. Then He was resurrected three days later. Because He was resurrected, we all too will be resurrected one day - with immortal bodies. Then we will be able to also live with our spouse and family throughout the eternities as well. Of course, we all have to have faith in Christ, repent of our sins, and strive to do better.
