You have found my free coloring pages blog.
Today's drawings are all coloring pages that you can print for your kids or you to color.
The first ones were unpublished until tonight... Christmas Eve 2024.
Angel appears to Family of Shepherds
I got to thinking, what if it was a family of shepherds who were greeted by the angel? I recently learned that in that day female shepherds were watching out in the fields and caring for the flocks.
My wife found an ancient recipe for sugarplums AND I take my grandkids to the Nutcracker Ballet every Christmas season. Hence I decided to draw the Sugarplum Fairy with some sugarplums. Sugarplums or Sugar Plums are a type of hard spherical candy. The name came to mean any hard sugary small spherical candy.
This is a drawing of one of my young granddaughter's Christmas toys. In the wonderful 1964 TV special called Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Clarice is kind and has no problem with Rudolph's unique red nose. I was born with a birth defect and I have had a trach tube in my throat for much of my life. My friends growing up, Kurt, Mike, Greg, Doug, Richard, Shawn, and Jim never made my tracheotomy and other health issues a problem. Kudos to them! Everyone should have treated Rudolph like Clarice treated him. . . and like my friends treated me. By the way, I WAS bullied by others. I could always relate to Rudolph. I loved how he got to be the hero... and get the nice doe too!
Rudolph the Young Reindeer Fawn
This is a more realistic drawing of Rudolph. However, I don't know of any scientific evidence of reindeer doing bioluminescence with their nose. But many animals like fireflies do bioluminescence. So let's cut Rudolph some slack. After all, if his unique trait IS an advantage then it will be selectively bred into his descendants. It would not be evolution; it would be man-caused evolution or selective breeding. I would suspect that by now Santa has several if not all of his reindeer with shiny noses.
NOTE: To find the printable versions just click on the "Holidays" button and scroll down to the bottom part of the Christmas section. I have also posted other new drawings for this Christmas season. They are on that list so feel free to print and color them. By the way, there is no fee and there are no ads on this blog. I hope you have fun coloring these pictures and remember that our loved ones' presence and our presence are far more important than presents at Christmastime.
