Here you have found my free coloring pages blog.
There are over 3000 drawings that I did for you to print and color.
Today's new drawing is of a bird from Florida called
The Swallow-Tailed Kite.
Swallow-Tailed Kite
Swallow-tailed kites live all over Florida and along the coast of some of the SouthEast states of the United States of America. They once ranged along the Mississippi River valley as far north as Minnesota, but human logging, etc. have driven them out of those traditional ranges. It is a type of hawk that flies elegantly. It prefers to nest high in the trees of forests and forested mountains or swampland. With its pointed swept-back wings it looks like a fighter jet. It has an impressive wingspan of 47-54 inches.
This type of kite feeds on birds, dragonflies, and even reptiles that they pluck from the treetop branches. They can swoop down and scoop up a drink from open water as they fly. You usually see these birds soaring. You rarely see them flapping their wings.
NOTE: This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Birds" and then scroll down to the bottom of the list IF you are accessing this site in September 2024. Have fun coloring. Look up the color patterns online if you want an accurate picture when you color it.
