Fairy on Lily Pad
Fairies love hanging out on Lily Pads. They have a kind of cloaking magic that makes them look like a frog to us mortals. Only very special mortals get to see the true Fairy. Of course many frogs on lily pads really ARE frogs. But Fairies have a way to recognize how we artists look at things. . . so I, as an artist, have been able to see these fairies and hence all the Fairy drawings. The Fairies told me that I am not allowed to say too much about the Fairies I have known, but the a few months ago a delegation from the Fairy Queen let me know that I need to start sharing what I know in order to help out the planet. The Fairies are very concerned about how we mortals have abused the planet. They do not want to see the suffering that will come with runaway global warming so they are encouraging me to say more.
Fairies have more advacned technology than we do. They wear those fancey belts that you see on this Fairy because those are actually flying belts that use neutrino power to create anti-gravitiy. The beautiful Fariy wings are partly for steerning and some propulsion. But the belts are what really helps a Fairy to defy gravity.
Fairies have used this technology to do all they can to take care of our planet. It is their planet too. They care that we are more careful with our trash. They also want us to recognize the importance of curbing global warming. Fairies have been on Earth for many thousands of years before mortals. They can live for hundreds of years. So they have first hand knowledge of seeing what the mortal industrial revolution has done to the Earth.
This Fairy, named Clair, is monitoring the pond for pollution and temperature increases. She is particularly concerned about the global decrease of many frog and other amphibian populations. There are over 7,000 known species of amphibians and about a third of the species are in decline and therefore threatened.
