Four Fantasy Coloring Pages - Centaurs, Mermiad, Fairy, & Nymph

This is my free coloring pages blog.  I am a retired science teacher who draws a lot!  

There are around 3000 pages on this site.  I drew all of them except maybe 8. 

Those drawings were done by a grandniece and grandnephew. 

Today, since I am behind at posting due to scary health issues, I am posting 4 drawings.  

These are all Fantasy drawings.

Centaur Couple on Patrol by a Forest River

Centaurs are noble and intelligent. They prefer to live in forested areas away from Man.  They can defend themselves and the forest, but they do not seek out trouble with Man.  They have some magic that helps them stay hidden from prying human eyes.  I should note that these two Centaurs are the smaller class of Centaurs.  They are somewhat small compared to the larger Centaurs.  These Centarus  could be considered about the size of a pony.  But DON'T ever call any Centaur a horse term. 

Young Mermaid Swimming near a Coral Reef

Mermaids are also highly intelligent. They build hidden cities in the sea. I should add that Mermaids are female Merpeople and there are also Mermen. This Mermaid is named Avinia.  She is in a safe area near her Fairy Village at the edge of a coral reef so she is not armed with a mini-trident that many Merpeople carry. Notice the brain coral Avinia is swimming past.  I should also mention that Avinia has a more commonly seen horizontal tail fluke.  I have recently drawn the other kind of Mermaid - the type with the verticle tail fluke more like a fish.  But Merpoeple are mammals.  But they have special curtain lungs that allow them to breathe both air and water.  To be more specific their lungs can extract oxygen from both water and air.  Of course, they have some magic that helps them hide themselves and their undersea villages from mortal or human eyes.  Fairies, Nymphs, Centaurs, and Merpeople all have pointed ears.  

Mountain Butterfly Fairy

This Fairy is with a Rocky Mountain Parassian butterfly.  Notice that the Fairy has wings that mimic her butterfly friend. This is an ability that Butterfly Fairies have.  Mountain Butterfly Fairies live at a high elevation.  Their hidden villages are usually under an Aspen tree.  Since a stand of Aspen is all one plant, Rocky Mountain Fairies have the biggest villages of any Fairy in North America. 

Water Nymph or Naiad with Swan

The Water Nymph or Naiad is a benevolent AKA kind being.  They live in fresh water and are friendly to humans when they actually let a human see them.  They appear as beautiful young women.  The Naiads do not age like mortals do.  They are extremely long-lived and they look young almost to the day of their death hundreds and hundreds of years after their birth.  This is not widely known but there ARE male Nymphs and Naiads.  But the males prefer not to ever contact or interact with mortals.  You also should know that the female Naiads prefer to wear loose, flowing, and somewhat translucent dresses.  These thin dresses are easy to swim in. Naiads carry wands like Fairies do.  They do not carry a trident like many of their ocean-dwelling cousins the Sea Nymphs and Merpeople.

Jesus loved the little children.  I am sure this must have happened many times in Jesus' life. 

Jesus Ordains one of His 12 Apostles

Jesus ordained His 12 Apostles and gave them the Priesthood of God.  This is the power of God given to man to act for God on Earth.  Then Jesus sent His Apostles out into the world to do miracles and to teach about Him and His Gospel of Faith in Jesus, Repentance, Baptism, and the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  Of course these Apostles were serving their fellowmen.  

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

Jesus was near Jericho and a blind man called out to Him. Jesus asked Blind Bartimaeus what he wanted.  Bartimaeus asked to have his eyes opened. Jesus healed him.

Jesus greets a Little Girl in the Hills of Galilee

Jesus loved little children.  This scene is not in the New Testament but I am sure Jesus did this.  He must have greeted little children hundreds if not thousands of times in His mortal life.

Several of Jesus' disciples were fishermen.

Paul is reprimanded by the Resurrected Jesus for persecuting the Church of Christ

Paul was a Pharisee working against the Christian Church.  Jesus appeared to him while Paul was on his way to Damascus to arrest Christians.  Paul was struck blind.  But to Paul's credit, once he realized that Christianity was God's way Paul repented and became one of the greatest missionaries of Christianity in history. Paul traveled all over much of Europe.  Because he was a Roman citizen he could travel freely.

If you read certain passages in the New Testament you read that Jesus DID appear to Paul.  Paul talks about seeing a light and hearing a voice in Acts 9:4 but it is clarified in verse 27 that Paul actually DID see Jesus in his vision on the road to Damascus.

Elizawynn the Elven Princess coloring page

Elizawynn the Elven Princess

Elizawynn is an Elven Princess.  As such she has her duties leading the people.  This includes leading other Elves in defense of the Elven Realm.  But more often she has her more quiet and peaceful times.  Here the beautiful princess is seen in a dress in a time when her people dwelled in peace.

Utahceratops coloring pages

Utahceratops Cow and Calf

Utahceratops is a member of the Ceratopsian type of dinosaurs.  These are mostly horned dinosaurs that have a frill and a hooked mouth.  It was around 6 feet or about 2 meters tall at the shoulders.  It was around 22 feet or about 7 meters long.  It was considerably smaller than its more well-known cousin, Triceratops.   

Like Triceratops, Utahceratops had three horns.  But Utahceratops two brow horns curved outward to the sides.  It may have used those horns to defend itself by thrashing its head side-to-side.  The unique horn shape would certainly have also been important to identify members of the species to other members of the same species.  

As you probably guessed, Utahceratops is named after the state (Utah) where it was found.  It was actually found in Southern Utah.  It was found in 2019 in the Kaiparowits Plateau of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.  Other unique Ceratopsians have also been found there.

Four New Mermaid & Merman coloring pages

Hello, my name is Robin Lyman.  I am a retired science teacher.

I set up this free coloring pages blog a few years ago. 

All the drawings were done by me... except for a few done by a grandniece and grandnephew. 

There are around 3,000 drawings that can be printed to color. 

I have not posted in several days due to health issues. 

Today I am starting to post some new Merpeople coloring pages.  

This might take a couple of days to post all four... and maybe 5.

Mermaid & Merman in Love

Yes, there ARE both female and male Merpeople.  And Merepople are found in every ocean of the world.  Plus Merpeople are different sizes, with differing skin and hair colors.  Specific types of Merpeople have some particular traits similar to their chosen form of ocean life.  In fact, there are many different types of Merpeople.  Some are friendly with one type of sea life and other Merpeople are friendly with another type of ocean animal.  Below are some drawings of some specific types of Merpeople.  

Young Shark Merpeople

Although you usually see Mermaids and Mermen drawn with horizontal tails... this is not always the case.  Shark Merpeople actually tend to have a tail fluke that is similar to the asymmetrical tail of sharks.  But Shark Merpoeple have verticle tails.  Notice that these two Merpeople are youths.  They are not adults.  Yet, being Shark Merpeople, they are not afraid at all to swim with Reef Sharks and Great White Sharks.  By the way, the sharks in the drawing are also juveniles. The sharks are not full-sized adults.  There are two reef sharks and one Great White shark.  

Mother & Child Seal Mermaids with Harbor Seals

These Harbor Seals include a pup, an older juvenile, and an adult.  The Mermaids are a mother and her child.  They also are Mermaids with verticle tails.  

Spotted Mermaid on Patrol 

You have probably noticed that all these Merpeople are the type that have verticle tail flukes. This Mermaid is a Spotted Mermaid.  She is on patrol keeping the sea safe for her people.  Her trident is actually a type of wand that Merpeople often carry.
