Unicorn Wizard coloring page

It is 11:45 on Halloween night. I dressed as a wizard and greeted

Trick-or-treaters for 2+ hours... and I loved it.

I handed out mini coloring pages along with the candy.

Below is one of those pages.  I wanted to post it before the holiday is over.

It is of a Unicorn Wizard!

Unicorn Wizard

Unicorn Wizards have a special affinity and friendships with Unicorns.  In this drawing, Anderes the Unicorn Wizard is with a small Unicorn.  This Unicorn is not a juvenile.  It is a type of Unicorn that is smaller than many other types of Unicorns.

NOTE:  This new drawing is found by clicking on the "Holidays" button and scrolling down to the bottom part of the Halloween section.  I will also post it at the bottom of the "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus printable pages.  Have fun coloring!

Gentrinia the River Witch coloring page

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Today's Halloween drawing is probably the best

Witch drawing I have ever drawn.

She is a River Witch.

Gentrinia the River Witch

Gentrinia is a Good Witch and she is also a River Witch.  She is seen here brewing a brew to help take care of an algae bloom in the river.  She has a cat and she is friendly with toads... but to be clear, Gentrinia is NOT an ugly witch nor an evil witch.  She is quite the opposite.  In fact, her name means "Caretaker."

Gentrinia is actually caring for the river in this drawing.  The fumes from the brew will help restore the river to its pristine state.  Algae blooms are terrible for the other life living in the river.  Algae blooms can even make the water poisonous to animals that come to the river to drink.

I should mention that Gentrinia is also a wonderful caretaker of children.  The fact is that children need care far more than a river.  Or at the least, children need more constant care than a river.  Gentrinia will transform her clothing into mortal styles and help lost or endangered children.  She has been known to help adult mortals as well.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the "Holidays' button and scrolling down to the bottom of the Halloween section.  Click on the title and you will get the printable page.  This printable page is also found at the bottom of the "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus" seciton. Have fun coloring!

Nova the Dragon Witch coloring page

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Today's new drawing is a Dragon Witch with her Dragon friend.

This drawing is available to print so it can be colored.

Nova the Dragon Witch

If you have ever wondered why we modern mortals don't have to deal with dragons then I will tell you. Dragons used to lay waste to mortal lands and buildings.  But Good and Gifted Witches and Fairies tamed and befriended the dragons.  Those once-wild dragons now live in hidden sanctuaries that were created by Good Witches and Good Fairies.

Here we see Nova giving love to her Dragon Friend Drage.  He, Drage, is a Norwegian Dragon.  He is actually much more than a tame animal.  Dragons, like Fairies, are sentient beings.  His name, "Drage," is actually how you say dragon in Norway.  It is not pronounced "drayge."  It is pronounced "draw-geh."

Nova is actually armed.  She has her wand tucked into her dress's belt.  However, she does not need to be armed around Drage.  Drage is her dear friend and not her enemy.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, can be found by clicking on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll to the bottom of the list of titles to get this printable page.  Of course, you will need to click on the title's name.  This drawing is also found under the "Holidays" button.  You will need to scroll down to the bottom of the Halloween section.

Have fun coloring! By the way, there may be another witch tomorrow... and maybe a wizard too.

Another Barefoot Elf named Andreia coloring page

This is a free coloring pages blog.

There are over 2800 printable pictures for you to print and color.

Today's new drawing is another Barefoot Elf.

 Barefoot Elf named Andreia

The name Andreia means brave or protector.  That fits perfectly for Andreia the Barefoot Elf.  Barefoot Elves are a type of Wood Elf.  The Barefoot Elves are a bit shorter and can run at a surprising speed for their height.  Barefoot Elves are part Hobbit so they can hide very well - especially in the forest because they are part Wood Elf.  In fact, to be clear, I will reiterate that  Barefoot elves ARE a type of Wood Elf.

Barefoot Elves are often forest scouts for the Wood Elf Realm.  They have sharp eyesight and are also excellent shots with their bow or use of a sling.  Another thing they get from their Hobbit heritage is that they are great shots even at throwing rocks.

Andreia is actually a married Barefoot Elf.  She has children and yet she takes her shifts patrolling the forest of the Wood Elf Realm.  She is a great mother and yet also a fearsome warrior.  She teaches her children forest survival skills.  For instance, she teaches them to swim.  Swimming is a trait that most Hobbits do not have, but being a descendant of full-blooded Wood Elves, she IS an excellent swimmer.  She is not teaching her children to swim in this drawing because Andreia is working - on patrol.

Barefoot Elves wear limited armor because they sometimes hide IN the water.  Andreia is seen here near a forest river in her armor.  She has her bow and sword.  She can choose to swim in the river and her armor will not be a problem because it is made of mithril - a super light and strong form of silver.

I have to add that Andreia is a beautiful Barefoot Elf.  She had silverly hazel eyes and long wavy hair.  But don't be deceived by her looks.  As already mentioned, she is a dangerous warrior to enemies of the Elven Realm.  And yet at home, she is a caring mother and loving wife as well.

In my defense, it is impossible to catch the true physical beauty of someone with this medium of coloring page drawings.  Yet, believe me, Andreia is a beautiful person - especially since she is beautiful on the inside as well.

I should also add that a female Elf is sometimes called a She-Elf.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the list of titles.  Click on the title to get the printable coloring page.  By the way, there are several Wood Elf and Barefoot Elf drawings further up that list.

Unicorn & Fairies multiple coloring pages

Hi! This is my free coloring pages blog.  There are around 2800 drawings

that can be printed and colored.  I did all of the drawings except

for a handful done by a grandniece and grandnephew.

Today I am posting a set of drawings that are a theme of

a Unicorn with a Fairy.  In each coloring page drawing the Fairy is giving the Unicorn

an apple in every drawing.  Have fun coloring!

Unicorn & Fairy #1

Unicorns and Fairies are almost always friends.  This Fairy is a male Fairy with his friend who is a Unicorn Stallion.  Remember that Unicorns are sentient beings... that is, they are intelligent.  You will notice that there are many types of Fairies.  There are even (obviously) male Fairies.  The story that Fairies are born out of flowers is nonsense.  Fairies are essentially a type of human with some magical powers and very advanced technology.  Most of these Fairies are actually wearing flying belts.  These belts allow a Fairy to fly at high speed for long distances.  Of course, Fairies can fly without the flying belt, but they can fly further and faster when they are wearing their flying belt.

The printable versions of these drawings are in the "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus" section of this blog.  So click on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus" then scroll down to the bottom of the list of drawings and you will see these 11 titles.  Click on the desired title to get the printable drawing.

Torosaurus and Triceratops comparison coloring pages

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing is of a large Ceratopsian dinosaur called Torosaurus.

Torosaurus

(today's new drawing)

Torosaurus was a large three-horned Ceratopsian dinosaur.  It lived more or less at the same time as the similar dino we know as Triceratops.  Triceratops was larger at 30 feet or 9 meters long. Torosaurus was around 25-29. feet or 7.6 - 9 meters.  Torosaurus is thought to have weighed up to 13,000 lbs and Triceratops was up to 20,000 lbs.  So although the biggest Torosaurs were about as long as the biggest Triceratops, the Triceratops were much more heavily built.

Both of these Ceratopsian dinos lived in North America in the late Cretaceous Period.  They must have competed for territory and feeding grounds.  In a fight, Triceratops would have won due to its more massive mass or weight and therefore much more powerful muscles.

Some paleontologists have hypothesized that they represent the same species but there is a lot of evidence that they are separate species.  For another difference besides size, the Torosaurus have two large holes in their frill.  But Triceratops had a much thicker frill with no large holes.

Here is a Triceratops drawing I did previously.  Note that it has a shorted frill compared to Torosaurus. The frills are also different in shape. By the way, "Torosaurus" means "Bull  lizard."

Triceratops with forward-facing Horns

(older drawing)

NOTE:  The NEW drawing is found, in printable form, by clicking on the "Paleontology" button and scrolling down to the bottom of the Mesozoic part of the list.   The older drawing is found by searching further up the list but still in the Mesozoic section.  Below are a few other Triceratops drawings I have done over the years.  These drawings were all posted previously on this free coloring pages blog.  Also, notice the bulls-eye pattern on the Torosaurus and some of these Triceratops drawings. These bulls-eye patterns, especially the ones on the frill, are present in some modern animals so it is thought that the pattern may have been present in Ceratopsians to make the horned dinosaur look larger because the spots would look like big eyes.

Leah the Ghanaian Butterfly Fairy coloring page

Today's new drawing on this, my free coloring pages blog is of

an African Butterfly Fairy named Leah.

She is seen with a rare African butterfly

called an Edwards Forester.

 Leah the Ghanaian Butterfly Fairy

This is Leah.  She is from Ghana on the West Coast of Africa.  She is a Butterfly Fairy.  She is seen here with a butterfly called the Edwards Forester.  It is a rather rare butterfly found only on the African West Coast. If you look closely you will see that Leah and the butterfly have similar wings.  This is evidence of a type of magic that occurs with some Fairies.

For example, Leah's wings transformed when she chose to be a protector of the Edwards Forester butterfly.  He wings now resemble the wings of that butterfly species.  By the way, Leah is a very beautiful and caring Fairy.  She is a protector of Nature in general, like many African Fairies, but she specifically loves the Euphaedra edwardsii or the Edwards Forester butterfly.

The Edwards Forester butterfly has a wingspan of around 6.5 - 7.5 cm.  That is about 2.5 - 3 inches.  So if you look at this drawing you will see that Leah must be somewhere around 5-6 inches tall.  This is the natural size of most Fairies.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus" button and scrolling to the bottom of the list of drawings.  Have fun coloring this kind and beautiful Butterfly Fairy.  And remember that true beauty is in our personality.  Kind and good people are by far the most lovely people in the world.

Jesus in the Mountains coloring page

Today's new drawing on this free coloring pages blog is of

Jesus in the Mountains,

Jesus in the Mountains

When Jesus was on the Earth He liked to go up into the mountains and into nature to be with God... or to pray and commune with God.  He often went up alone.  The maintains were a sacred place of peace to Him.

I feel that the mountains are still a beautiful place where we can feel closer to God.  I know a skier who worked ski patrol and he felt close to God while he was up in the mountains skiing.  Of course, I still feel it is important to go to church and fellowship with my fellow Christians, and serve one another.  But I also think that here in Utah we forget about how beautiful it is up in our mountains.  I think we need to get up there more often.  In fact, wherever you live you should consider looking for opportunities to get out and enjoy Nature.

My family and I also love fishing up in the mountain streams. We also enjoy hiking.  A couple of weeks ago we drove up to a high mountain lake to hike and take photos of the glorious fall leaves.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Religious."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the New Testament section.  Have fun coloring our Savior.  And consider getting out in Nature wherever you live.  It is good for the soul.

P. S.  I need to go take my grandson to Tai Kwon Do so I will be posting the printable version later tonight.  Sorry.

Baryonyx a Smaller, Piscivore, and Early Spinosaur coloring page

This is my free coloring pages blog.

I have drawn all these drawings except a few done my a grandniece and grandnephew.

I am Robin Lyman, a retired Science teacher.

Today's new drawing is of a type of sailless Spinosaur

called Baryonyx.

Baryonyx with Chick
(new drawing)

Baryonyx was a smaller type of Spinosaur.  Like its larger and more well-known cousin, Spinosaurus, Baryonyx was a fish-eating dinosaur or piscivore.  Though smaller than Spinosaurus, it was not exactly tiny.  Baryonyx was around 30 feet or 9 meters long.  It lived in what is now the United Kingdom.  Baryonyx was the first piscivore dinosaur ever discovered.  Its Genus name refers to the huge "index finger" claw on each hand.  It is thought that the large claws were used to fillet fish before eating.

It lived in the Early Cretaceous Period around 130-125 million years ago.  It is thought by some that perhaps Theropod dinosaurs carried their offspring in their mouth like crocodilians do.  It is amazing to think of such large predatory animals being gentle parents but the evidence indicates that they were.

Since many modern animals have camouflage patterns and/or unique markings, it is reasonable to assume that dinosaurs had similar unique characteristics.  Hence the patterns on the skin/scales of these dinosaur drawings.

NOTE:  This new drawing is found by clicking on the button labeled "Paleontology."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the Cenozoic Era part of the list.  New drawings are found at the bottom of the list. Below is another drawing that was done previously of Baryonyx.  Its printable version is found further up the Paleontology list.

TBD Torpedo Bomber and Dauntless Dive Bomber World War II aircraft coloring pages

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog!

Today the new drawing is of a US Navy

torpedo bomber.  The Battle of Midway was the last battle

this aircraft was used.

TBD Torpedo Bomber

(also called Devastator)

(New Drawing)

By the time the TBD saw action in the Battle of Midway, it was already pretty much obsolete.  Nearly all of these torpedo planes were shot down by Japanese Zero fighters or by anti-aircraft fire from Japanese ships.

Yet the courage of the pilots and crews of these planes is unsurpassed in the history of warfare.  They were too slow and the majority were sitting ducks for the Zeros.  Sadly, one squadron of 15 planes was all shot down in their attempt to attack the Japanese aircraft carrier Akagi.  Only one pilot of all 30 aviators survived.  He was Ensign George Gay.  He had a front-row seat to the rest of the battle and he saw how the American dive bombers were very successful in their attacks on the Japanese carriers.

Because of the sacrifice of the torpedo bombers, the dive bombers were able to dive from high altitude with no Zero fighters attacking them.  The fighters were all still down low after chasing the torpedo bombers.  Torpedo bombers had to attack from a low altitude so their torpedo would not break up upon hitting the water.

I recently finished re-reading a book called: The Battle of Midway, Pivotal Moments.  I was again so impressed by the courage of these flight crews of the TBD Devastator Torpedo Bombers.  I was so impressed that I drew another picture of this aircraft.  (The new drawing is up at the top of this post.)  I HAVE drawn this torpedo bomber once before.  Below is the older drawing.  I have added some new shading to this drawing.

NOTE:  The drawings, in printable form, are found by clicking on the button labeled: "Vehicles and Military Vehicles."  (Technically an airplane IS a vehicle.)  Scroll down to the bottom of the list and you will see the title of the new drawing.  Click on the title to get the printable drawing.  A printable version of the older drawing of the torpedo bomber is near the top of the list.  I am also adding below this text a  drawing I did a long time ago of a Dauntless Dive Bomber.

Sunflower Fairy named Naomia with a Silvery Checkerspot Butterfly coloring page

This is a free coloring pages blog.

There are over 2800 free coloring pages.

Today's new drawing is of a Sunflower Fairy.

Naomia the Sunflower Fairy
(With a Silvery Checkerspot Butterfly)

Naomia is a Sunflower Fairy.  She cares for Sunflowers but she also cares for butterflies that visit Sunflowers.  She is seen here with a Silvery Checkerspot Butterfly.  Naomia is a beautiful Fairy who is both kind and skillful.  It may surprise you but she also harvests sunflower seeds for her Fairy village.
Of course, she also protects Sunflowers and all types of butterflies that visit sunflowers.

Checkerspot Butterflies come in more than 24 species,  They are one of the types of butterflies that visit sunflowers.  However, they visit other species of flowers as well.  They are beautiful with somewhat of a checkered pattern on their wings.

Unicorn Fairies including Alexequusia coloring pages (2 EXTRA DRAWINGS ADDED!)

Yesterday on this free coloring pages blog I posted

a drawing of a Unicorn Fairy with her wings internalized.

Today I am adding two new drawings of the same Unicorn

Fairy with her wings externalized.

I will be following the text from today's modified post

with some drawings from older posts...

again, of Unicorn Fairies.

Alexequusia the Unicorn Fairy

(With Her Wings Internalized)

Alexequusia with Lacewings

(Her wings are now externalized.)

Alexequusia with Butterfly Wings
(Her wings here are again externalized.)

Unicorns and Fairies are almost always friendly with one another.  First, you need to know that Unicorns are sentient beings, NOT horses.  However, Unicorns have a LOT in common with horses.  Since Unicorns sometimes spend time leading herds of mustangs or brumbies (wild horses) the IQ or intelligence level of wild horses has gone remarkably up.  Some half Unicorn - half horses are actually sentient themselves.

Alexequusia is a close friend to one of these half Unicorn - half horse sentient creatures.  Of course, Alexequusia is seen here at full mortal size.  Of course, her natural size is 5 inches or about 17 cm.  At this size, Alexquusia can and does ride her Unicorn friend.  They are a pair of friends, not either being subservient.

I will say that it is difficult to draw the beauty of a Fairy (especially this Fairy).  And I will again remind you (if you are a regular reader) that true beauty is more in the heart and less in physical features.  That being said, Alexequusia is a true beauty in every sense of the word.  She is also good with horses and full-blooded Unicorns.  She is good with ALL animals, not just horses and Unicorns.  She is also friendly with and good with dogs.

Like all Fairies  Alexequusia has the ability to internalize her wings.  That is what she has done here.  Unicorn magic and Fairy magic will trick mortal eyes into seeing a young mortal woman riding a horse… not a Fairy (with pointed ears) riding a Unicorn.  But this Fairy is particularly gifted with her wings,  She can transform her wings from lace wings to butterfly wings,  So, in the first drawing she has her wings magically internalized.  She has made her wings visible in the next drawing - and they are lace wings or wings similar to a Lacewing Fly.  In the third drawing, Alexequusia is seen with her wings again externalized and transformed into butterfly-like wings.

by the way, the name Alexequusia actually means "Defender of Horses."  Of course, Unicorns are far more intelligent than horses, but Unicorns ARE a type of super-intelligent horse.  So Alexequusia is a defender of horses and Unicorns,  You see, often Unicorns will run with herds of wild horses.  Unicorn Fairies will defend both Unicorns and wild horses like the Brumby from Australia... and Mustangs in the United States... or Przewalski in Europe and Asia.

Mortals can't see the horn on a Unicorn.  Well, at least MOST mortals can't see the horn.  A few kind and gifted mortals CAN recognize a Unicorn.  Unicorns are clairvoyant and can detect a hostile mortal from a kind one.  Unicorns are known to be very close to Fairies and once in a while friendly with an exceptional mortal.

NOTE:  These new drawings can be found by clicking on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the list of coloring page drawings.  Below are a few other older drawings of Unicorns and Faires. There are actually a lot more if you search the Fantasy, Myths, and Circus page of this blog.

Ciela the Sky Fairy -with a Wedge-tailed Eagle coloring page

Hi or Hi again!  I am Robin Lyman and this is my free coloring pages blog.

I am a retired and disabled science teacher.

This blog has over 2700 free, printable coloring pages.

Today's new drawing is of a Sky Fairy.

Ciela the Sky Fairy with a Wedge-tailed Eagle

This is Ciela who is a Sky Fairy.  She is from Australia  Sky Fairies get their name because they love high-flying birds, like this Wedge-tailed  Eagle.  Since Sky Fairies are frequently up high in the air they got that name.  Sometimes they are called Raptor Fairies.  Sky Fairies even have raptor-like wings.

Wedge-tailed Eagles are the largest bird of prey in Australia.  They can have a wingspan of up to 9 ft 4 inches.  That is 2.84 meters!!  Interesting that there are a dozen species of Wedge-tailed eagles. We saw this type of eagle on our tour of Outback Australia.

Sky Fairies, like Ciela, prefer to transform to a maximum size.  She, like all Fairies, can transform to various sizes.  A Fairy's natural size is around 5 inches or 12.7 cm tall.  But Sky Fairies will often transform to a size close to 8 feet or 2.4 meters tall.  The larger size and mass is conducive to flying in the high winds of the atmosphere at the altitude where raptor birds fly.  Being any smaller makes it too easy to be blown far off course by the high winds.  by the way, the Griffon Vulture can fly up to 37,000 feet high.  They are among the raptor friends of Sky Fairies.

I think the next bird I draw will be a Griffon Vulture.

NOTE:  To get to the printable version of this drawing just click on the "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus" button and scroll to the bottom of the list.  Have fun coloring!!!

P.S. This drawing of a Wedge-tailed Eagle is not as accurate as one I drew and posted a few years ago... when we went to Australia.  This current drawing will probably bug me enough that I will "fix" it and repost this drawing.

Young Carcharodontosaurus coloring page

This is my free coloring pages blog.

My name is Robin and this blog has around 2700 free and printable coloring pages.

This is NOT a color online.  Having once been a kindergarten teacher

I believe that coloring with crayons teaches good hand-eye coordination and

is a good introduction to writing.

Today's new drawing is an amazing dinosaur named

Carcharodontosaurus.

Young Cacharodontosaurus

This is a young Carcharodontosaurus.  An adult could get to be up to 41 feet long.  That is over 12 meters.  It was the 5th largest Theropod dinosaur.  It lived in North Africa and was discovered before World War II,  but the fossils were in Germany and were destroyed during the war.

Chacharodontosaurus lived in what is now North Africa.  That was just under 100 million years ago.  It had a narrowing of the snout and a bite force that was less than that of a T. rex.  It fed on Sauropods.  It probably made a slashing bite or bites on a Sauropod and waited for it to weaken.  It did NOT have a crushing bite like T. rex.  But it was just under the size of a T. rex.  Sauropods were mostly much larger than a Carcharodontosaurus so bites to the side or legs or even tail may have caused bleeding that may have weakened the huge herbivore.

The name "Carcharodontosaurus"  means "Shark Tooth Lizard."  This is because the teeth look remarkably like the teeth of a Great White Shark.

NOTE:  This drawing is found in printable form by clicking on the button labeled "Paleontology."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the Mesozoic Life section.
