Mikelia the Mermaid, Bia the Damselfly Fairy, & Abigalia the Swallowtail Fairy

Welcome to my Free Coloring Pages Blog

I was in a lot of pain yesterday so I drew a lot.

Below are three drawings of beautiful young women I met recently.

Drawing people is way more challenging than drawing dinosaurs or animals.

So because it is more challenging I am more distracted from the severe pain I am experiencing.

So thank you to you three beautiful and kind young ladies.

Drawing you was the best medicine to distract me from the pain.

I had been severely tempted to take narcotic pain meds, which I DO have on hand

for when the pain is excruciating.  But taking Tylenol and drawing you three

did the trick.  I was once very dependent on narcotics for my pain so

I started drawing more and started this blog to help distract me. The pain meds

had been changing my personality.

So, today's first drawing is of a Mermaid.

The second is of a Damselfly Fairy.

The third...

Meikelia the Mermaid

You may remember that I drew Meikelia previously, as a Water Nymph.  I am sure you are aware that Mermaids can transform into humans with legs when they go on land.  Well, a Mermaid can also turn into a Water Nymph.  Mermaids prefer marine or ocean environments.  But some Mermaids like fresh water as well.  in order to go into the freshwater of lakes and rivers and streams the Mermaid changes into a Water Nymph.  Water Nymphs look much more human-like, they just have webbed feet and sometimes webbed fingers.  When Water Nymphs go onto land they use magic to transform their webbed toes and fingers into more human-like digits.  Both Mermaids and Water Nymphs tend to be very beautiful sentient beings... meaning they are much like humans and Fairies with very high intelligence.  In fact, Faires, Merpeople, and Water Nymphs are actually types of humans. Meikelia is no exception to the beauty rule.  She is one of the most beautiful women I have ever met.  She spends much of her time in mortal form working on training people in water sports.  As you can see, she really loves doggies.  She is seen here with her own doggy she has in the Mortal World.  Her doggy likes to go out on a small rubber raft to hang out with Meikelia when his master is swimming in a lake or in the ocean.

Bia the Damselfly Fairy

This is Bia the Damselfly Fairy.  She is a beautiful Fairy with lovely dark eyes and dark hair. Bia loves damselflies but she also loves dragonflies.  Both damselflies and dragonflies are in Order Odonata.  In their larva stage, damselflies are predatory small water animals that feed on other larvae, such as mosquito larvae. Damselfly larvae have gills on their tail and live in freshwater for from 2 months to 3 years.  When they emerge as adult damselflies they are again predators of mosquitos.  Dragonflies are very similar in their lifetime.  So if you see damselflies around be grateful.

In this drawing, we see Bia in Fairy size (5 inches or 12.7 cm.)  ...standing in very shallow water with 2 friendly damselflies nearby.  She is standing where the edge of the river has flooded out some grass that was on the bank.

Abigalia the Swallowtail Fairy

Abigalia is a Swallowtail Fairy.  She is a lovely young Fairy who loves butterflies.  Of course, she especially loves Tiger Swallowtail Butterflies.  She was born with wings that look a great deal like those of the Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly.

On this Swallowtail Fairy drawing feel free to color in the black areas more fully.  FYI the Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly has black markings and stripes on yellow wings.  Abigalia's wngs should probably be colored the same way.  But of course, it is up to you.  Also, some Tiger Swallowtail Butterflies have yellow-orange or outright orange wings.  I should mention that the printable pages scan in PDF files so the drawing lines etc. will be darker.

Dinosaur & Dragon Coloring Pages for Children

Hello everyone.  I have not posted much for a couple of days because I am having

a lot of post-surgical pain.  My drug of choice is drawing pictures.

Drawing distracts me from the pain. so I have been drawing a lot and not posting the drawings yet.

So now I am going to try to post some recent drawings.  First some dinosaur and dragon drawings.

There is some thought that the idea of dragons originated with ancient peoples

finding dinosaur, plesiosaur, and pterosaur fossils. Then they put two and two together

and came up with the idea for dragons. It is said that the Temple of Athena in Greece had

a Plesiosaur skull on the altar.  That supports this theory.

Below I will be posting the dino and dragon drawings and

writing just a little bit about the animal.in the drawing.

The Dino drawings are found, in printable form, by clicking on the "Paleontology" button.

Then scroll to the bottom of the Mesozoic portion of the list.

The Dragon drawings are found, in printable form, by clicking on the button

labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus. Again, scroll to the bottom of the list.

Therozinosaurus searching for Food

Therozinosaurus was a dino oddity.  It was a Theropod that had evolved to eat plants.  It had huge meter-long sword-like claws for defense, but it was an herbivore.  It was feathered and it has been said that Therozinosaurus looked like a giant half-plucked turkey.  It weighed 11,000 lbs or almost 5,000 kg.  Therozinosaus were small or up to 40 feet or 12 meters long and lived in the early to late Cretaceous Period about 145-70 million years ago.  This weird type of animal lived in Asia & North America.

Daspletosaurus at an Overlook

Daspletosaurus was probably an ancestor to T. rex.  It was a Tyrannosaur that lived 70-66 million years ago.  It appears that Daspletosaurus was an ancestor to T. rex but this smaller Tyrannosaur lived concurrently with T. rex as well.  Daspletosuaurs were up to 30 feet or 9 meters long.  It weighed up to 8,400 lbs.  That is 3,810 kg.

Brachiosaurus with Stripes

Brachiosaurus was a large Sauropod dinosaur.  It was 82 feet or 25 meters long.  It weighed 80 metric tons.  It stood 50 feet or 22 meters tall.  It clearly feasted on leaves high up in the trees. When I was a boy it was the biggest known dinosaur.  Now other Brachiosaurs have been found that were even bigger, Griaffatitan and Sauroposeidon come to mind.  Sauroposeidon was 60 feet tall. Brachiosaurs were late Jurassic - Early Cretaceous Sauropods.

Albertosaurus Mommy with her Chicks

Albertosaurus was a large Tyrannosaur that, like Daspletosaurus, was possible an ancestor to T. rex.  It was 30 feet long and lived 100 million to 66 million years ago.

Mother Dragon carries her Wyrmling

If crocodiles carry their young in their mouth it makes sense that dragons would do the same and dinosaurs may have done the same as well.  One name for a baby dragon is a wyrmling.

Wyvern Dragon flies over the Kingdom

A Wyvern is a dragon with two legs and its arms attached to its wings.

Drake Dragon flies over the Kingdom

Drakes are dragons with four legs.

James Barnet Cole rescues Lucy Ward story and coloring page and some other Pioneer coloring pages

Hi there.  Today is a holiday in Utah.  We celebrate the arrival of the Mormon PIoneers to the Salt Lake Valley.  My ancestor was among this first group.  His name was Amasa Lyman. Later my female ancestor from England pulled a handcart to get to Utah, but she was caught in a terrible storm.

"Mormons," are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Many of us have ancestors who were forced out of their homes in Missouri and then Illinois.  Those saints had to cross the plains of North America to find refuge in the mountains of the West.

These are all drawings from previous posts.  I did not do any new drawings for Pioneer Day this year.

James Barnet Cole rescues Lucy Ward

Lucy Ward was a 10-year-old girl when her father died, in England.  Before his death, Lucy's father had given her a beautiful green veil or scarf.  A while after she lost her husband, Lucy's mother joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  All the rest of the family joined too.  The converts were encouraged to travel to Zion.  But before the family could immigrate to Zion (Zion was Utah.) her sister and her mother died.  (Lucy had two brothers.).  Lucy was only around 22 years old when she took a ship to New York City.  There she worked in a millinery (hat making) shop for a year in order to earn the money to travel to Utah to join the Saints.

Lucy traveled to Iowa, USA, by train and she joined the Willie Martin Handcart Company  This company ran into trouble because they left Iowa late.  The company ran into winter storms and eventually was stranded in the Wyoming wilderness.

Lucy had a warm wool cloak with her that she had brought with her from England.  She cut off the bottom of the cloak when the early winter storm was doing its worst and she needed some way to tie it on to keep her head and face warm.  She remembered the beautiful green veil that her father had bought her and she took it out of the handcart and she tied it around the piece of fur coat that she had cut off.  Basically, the green veil was holding the fur on her head and against the sides of her face.  Doing this was probably significant in Lucy's survival because we lose a lot of heat through our heads.  Many other members of the company died.   The ends of the green veil were allowed to blow in the wind.

James Barnet Cole was from one of the first families that joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints years before.  He had crossed the plains via a wagon with a team of probably oxen.  James answered the call of the Prophet Brigham Young to go rescue the handcart pioneers in Wyoming.  On the way, he had a dream.  In the dream, he saw a beautiful woman with a green veil on.  She said to him that if he rescued her, she would be his bride.

In the morning James woke up and told his traveling partner about the dream.  This partner was William Kimball.  Brother Kimball told Brother Cole that there were no beautiful women waiting for him, only starving saints.   It was a very challenging trip to get through the snow to the stranded handcart pioneers,.  In fact, rations or food for the Willie Handcart Company had been cut several times and the people were both freezing and starving.

When James Cole's wagon came over the ridge the members of the stranded handcart party stood and cheered.  Lucy stood up and looked toward the rescue wagons.  The cold wind caught the ends of her veil and blew them in the air.  William Kimball turned to James Cole and said, "Well James, there's your dream girl!"

James drove his wagon, full of supplies, up to Lucy.  He looked down at her, standing with her frozen feet in the snow, and he invited her to get into the wagon.  Lucy, always a proper lady, said, "I don't know you."  But she soon got used to him.  They were married three days later and stayed the winter in Fort Bridger.  She could not travel on to Salt Lake City because her feet had truly been frozen.  She lost all ten of her toes.

James and Lucy would go on to settle in or near Ogden Utah and have 11 children.  They were faithful members of the Church until their deaths.  James would die in a horse accident 20 years after they met and Lucy would live as a widow for 44 years.  At the time of HER death at age 87, she had 156 descendants.

I am one of their later descendants.  I think we need to be aware of how much our ancestors went through to get us to this wonderful modern age of our world.  In fact, Lucy's grandaughter tells of how Lucy taught her grandchildren to appreciate being able to eat an orange in a state far from where the oranges were grown.

NOTE:  This drawing was done in pencil, and it was not inked in with a pen.  It can be found in printable form by clicking on one of two buttons up top:   . . . . All Printables. . . . or .  . . . .

Alexisia a Female Rider of Rohan

Welcome to my blog.  My computer went on the fritz for a couple of days and I was afraid it was unrepairable.  It was a worn-out battery.  I am posting this with no battery in the laptop computer. . . but my computer is plugged into the wall.  I will order a new battery tomorrow.

Today I will be making 2 posts.  THIS post is of a Female Rider of Rohan.

Alexisia a Female Rider of Rohan

Female Riders of Rohan are a small but unique group.  They included Eowyn, who broke the barrier to female riders.  She proved her worth by slaying the Witch King of Andmar, the lead Ring Wraith. After Eowyn's feat of courage, there were more women of Rohan who were accepted into the Riders of Rohan.

Alexisisa is gifted with horses, as you would assume.  But she is also gifted with all her pets and animals.  She has dogs that are crazy about her.  She helps other village members when their animal needs special care.

As an artist that works in this coloring page level of drawing I want to say that it is impossible to capture the true physical beauty of a person or Elf or Fairy with this medium.  However, I do the best I can.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, will be found by clicking on the button labeled:  "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll to the bottom of the list.  New songs are at the end of the list.  The printable pages are PDF files so they print darker and more clearly.  I will be posting some drawings of Pioneers next.

Hannia Azuria the She-Elf Warrior coloring page

This is my second post today.  So, of course, this post is at the top of my blog.

The first post is my drawing of Barbaridactylus so it is the post below this one.

This post is a drawing of a Fairy She-Elf Warrior.

Hannia the She-Elf Warrior

Hannia Azuria is one of the Blue-Elf warriors.  Blue-Elves love being near the water or even IN the water.  More specifically they love lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, etc.  So they love freshwater.  Blue Elves are known to be great swimmers.  They are not merpeople, so they can not breathe water, but they are capable of holding their breath for 20 minutes.

She-Elf warriors help protect the areas around the Elf cities and villages.  They are powerful warriors, however, they only fight when necessary.  That rule does not apply to how they deal with dark creatures like orcs, trolls, etc.

Hannia, and most Blue Elves, prefer an Elvish short-sword.  A large sword would get in the way of swimming.  Hannia is seen here near a river.  Her armor is made of mithril so it is quite light, therefore she can go into the water without sinking to the bottom.  Traditional armor makes swimming impossible.  Mithril is a type of silvery metal that is incredibly strong so when made into armor it is very thin - which makes the armor very light.  Mithril does not float, but armor made of mithril is perfectly safe for swimming.  Mithril is closely related to Beryllium, only Mithrill is not brittle.

Hannia Azuria is seen here standing behind a large boulder that is next to a river.  If you could see her legs you would see that they are armor free.  She also does not carry a shield..  Blue Elves spend so much time in the water that they are known to not wear leg armor the free their legs for swimming.  "

A final note on Hannia Azuria, Hannia means "a place to rest or be happy."  "Azuria" is a stunning Aqua-Blue color.  I am sure you know that Elves are beautiful people, although not mortal.  Blue Elves are particularly beautiful, even for Elves.  I will add that the coloring page format of art can not capture the full physical beauty of such beautiful people.

Barbaridactylus the Pterosaur with Antlers coloring page

Welcome to my blog.  There will be two posts today.

This first one is of a very unusual Pterosaur

called Barbaridactylus.

Barbaridactylus the Pterosaur with Antlers

This Pterosaur, named Barbaridactylus, had a 15-foot wingspan.  That is 4,6 meters wide.  It lived in what is now Morocco in North Africa.  It was a fish eater.  Its most unusual feature was a very long crest that looked almost like antlers.  Of course, the crest wasn't REALLY antlers.  The large crest was probably for species identification and possibly for males to attract females.  But I don't think they have found female Barbaridactylus with smaller crests or no crest.

In this drawing we see three Barbaridactylus heading out to sea for some fishing.  They have just flown over a seaside cliff that is part of a small peninsula that juts out into the ocean.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the "Paleontology" button and scrolling to near the bottom of the drop-down menu.  You will need to go to the bottom of the "Mesozoic Life" section.  Then click on the title and you will get a printable page that scanned much darker than the version of the picture on this page of my blog.  Have fun coloring!

Ouranosaurus The Sail-Back Dinoaur.

`Welcome to my free coloring pages blog.

Today I am posting a drawing of a unique dinosaur

called Ouranosaurus.  The drawing also includes

a relatively unknown Pterosaur.

Ouranosaurus and Camposipterus

Let me tell you something that may surprise you:  A few years ago we found the skeleton of this large Hadrosaur or Duck-billed dinosaur Ouranosaurus in Venice, of all places.

Ouranosaurus from Venice Museum

Ouranosaurus was 27 feet or around 8 meters long. It lived in the early Cretaceous Period in what is now Nigeria, and Cameroon.  It may have been prey for Spinosaurus since both lived in Africa, however, Spinosaurus ate primarily fish and would only go after land prey when the fishing was poor.  Both Ouranosaurs and Spinosaurus had what is called a "sailback"   They may have used the sail as temperature control.  So they may have turned to face one large and flat side of their sail into the sun to warm up and turned their tail or face to the sun for the air to cool their blood via using the sail like a kind of radiator.

The  Pterosaur in the drawing is a lesser-known Pterosaur with a wingspan of around 10 feet or 3 meters.   This Pterosaur's Genus is Camposipterus.  SOME of its fossilized bones were found in England of the United Kingdom.  Most of the fossils were skull pieces and pieces of the jaw.  So the wingspan is an estimate.  The teeth were still in a lot of the jaws and the teeth in the front were protruding for snagging fish.  So Camposipterus was a fishing Pterosaur like all or most Pterosaurs were.

NOTE:  This drawing is found by clicking on the button labeled "Paleontology" and scrolling to the bottom of the list of drawings.  I will also include 2 drawings of Ouranosaurus from previous posts.  The second was drawn and posted back when we got back from our trip to Europe 4 years ago.

Fairies and Elves coloring pages

Hello readers and colorers.  I apologize for no posts for a few days.

I have been out of it for a few days after surgery and a subsequent hospital stay..

So I have several drawings that I did in the hospital

and one that I did my first day back home.

These kind models were the caring staff of the hospital who cared for me.

So I suppose whatever else I drew them as, they are all

Healer Fairies or Healer Elves.

I will start with Amia.  This will take a while to post each drawing.

Amia the Mountain Fairy

Amia loves to climb.  She is a Mountain Fairy.  As mentioned above, she is a Healer Fairy as well.  She could even be called a Rescue Fairy.  She helps mortal climbers who get in difficult situations.  She also heals them of their injuries, when possible.

There are actually far more mortal climbers who get injured than is generally know among the mortals.  This is because Mountain-Rescue-Healer Fairies, like Amia, frequently find injured mortal climbers and hikers and perform healing charms.  Then the Fairy will often do an "Olvidalo" amnesia charm to help the mortal forget that they were helped by a Fairy.  But of course, the Fairy does not ALWAYS perform an amnesia charm.

The name "Amia" means "Beloved" in Latin. Many Fairy names are from Latin.  In fact, Latin come from one of the original Fairy languages.  Another one of the original Fairy languages is Greek and another is Gaelic.  Of course there are many ancient Fairy languages.  Many of those languages are still around in ancient native languages.

Some Healer Fairies, like Amia, will attend mortal college and live and work in the mortal world in healthcare.  They will still visit family and friends in the Fairy realm.  Since there are Mountain Fairies and Mountain Fairy villages, Amia has plenty of opportunities to visit her loved ones in the Fairy Realm.

The Fairy Realm includes Fairy villages that are usually hidden underground under a tree.  In fact, the tree to Amia's left marks where her home village is located. But I need to add one more thing.  Amia can fly, however she will often internalize her wings when she is climbing.  This makes the climb more of a challenge.  If she falls then she will activate her wings and hover.  She has a rule that she has to go back to climbing again at the spot where she or he fell.

Tuckeroo the Woodland Elf

You are probably very familiar with Woodland Elves... or at least the IDEA of Woodland Elves.  This is Tuckeroo, a Woodland Elf Warrior and Healer.  This is not unhears of - to be both a warrior and a healer.  Aragorn from the Lord Of The Rings series was part Elf and he was both a warrior and a healer.  Although Aragorn was, as I said, only part Elf.   He was descended from the union or marriage  of and Elf and a Mortal.

Tuckeroo is an Elf Warrior, however he is also skilled in the healing arts and healing magic.  He knows what herbs to use and how to intensify the herbs to maximize their healing properties.  And of course he knows many effective healing charms.

The name Tuckeroo comes from a tree in Australia.  The Tuckeroo tree is native to Eastern and Northern Australia.  The scientific name for the Tucker Tree is Cupaniopsis anacardiodes.  It is a salt tolerant tree and can be found in estuaries as well as in rain forests.  Tuckeroo trees have pinkish wood and are also called Carrotwood Trees.  The phrase "bush tucker" refers to wild food available in the bush or outback of Australia.  The Tuckeroo Tree fruit is edible.  It may be a source of mortal medicine in the future.  It is already used by Fairy Healers.   By the way, "tucker" means food in Australia.

Kaleia the She Elf Warrior

Kaleia is another Elf Warrior.  More specifically she is a She Elf Warrior.  Like Tuckeroo she is also a Fairy Healer.  She is seen here near a forest river.  Her unique name means "Joy" or "Happiness."  Both Tuckeroo and Kaleia are Healer Fairy Warriors and that is why their shields are on the small size.  They will fight when necessary but their primary duty is to heal injured Fairies.

Of course, both Kaleia and Tuckeroo have chosen to spend part of their lives in the mortal world.  They take care of injured or ill mortals.  They both are graduates of mortal university nursing programs and they work in a mortal hospital.  Of course, when called to battle they will respond immediately.  They are very skilled warriors and healers when there is a fight.

Bequia the Woodland Fairy Healer

The name Bequia means Island in the Clouds in the ancient Arawak language of Jamaica.  Bequia is a Woodland Fairy.  She actually lives in the Rocky Mountain woodlands.  She is seen here taking a break from her search for medicinal plants such as Oregon Grape and Willow.  Bequia has translucent, almost transparent wings so you can see the trees that are behind her through her wings.

She is another Fairy who has spent a great deal of time working with ill mortals.  She is employed at a hospital where she is caring and kind to the mortal patients.  In this drawing you can see that Bequia is wearing a Volantum Balteum or Flying Belt.  Most Fairies wear these flying belts to help them fly farther and faster.

Kaylia the Healer Elf travels to help a Patient

Kaylia is a Healer Elf.  She treats patients throughout the woods.  She is a Woodland Elf as well.  She knows all about the special botanicals available in the forest to heal other Elves.  Of course, she also uses her skills to help mortals, when she can.

Kaylia has particularly beautiful hair that often hangs over one shoulder.  She is kind and helpful to all those she can serve.  Her beautiful horse is named Equias.  Elves tend to be slender and their horses tend to be somewhat small, although their horses are horses, not ponies.  Elves are very good with horses, since Elves can actually communicate telepathically with many animals, including horses.

I chose to do this drawing of Kaylia in a portrait style.  The name Kaylia means "Free Spirited" and  "Freedom Loving!"

NOTE:  These drawings, in printable form, are found by clicking on the button labeled:  Fantasy, Myths, and Circus.  Then scroll to the bottom of the drop-down menu for these titles.  I post new drawings at the bottom of the lists.  The printable pictures are PDF files and so they print darker.  Have fun coloring!

Mavanariah the Water Dragon Fairy, Kennedia the Healer Fairy, & a Pet Fairy

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog.

Today I am posting three new Fairy drawings.

I have surgery tomorrow so I will not be posting for a few days.

If you pray, please pray for me, Robin Lyman.

Mavaraniah the Water Dragon Fairy

Mavahraniah is a kind young Water Dragon /Fairy.  She is only about 6 or 7.  She is caring for a Water Dragon egg.  There is a young Water Dragon coming to visit her on her lily pad.

Kennedia the Healer Fairy with Puppy

Kennedia is a Healer Fairy that usually serves human mortals.  She cares for the elderly and the ill right in their own homes.  She is one of the Fairy Folk who has chosen to work in the mortal world in order to serve.  Since she is exceptionally kind she also is good with pets like this puppy she is training to be a service dog in an assisted living facility.

Pet Fairy with Micro Mini Goldendoodle
(This Pet Fairy is named Sophia.)

This is another Fairy who has chosen to live among mortals.  She does this because she loves animals.  She has chosen a mortal life to work in a veterinary office.

Meikelia the Water Nymph rescues a Puppy

This is a free coloring pages blog.

I am a retired science teacher who likes to draw.

There are over 2000 drawings that I have done

that are on this blog for you to print and color.

Today's new drawing is of a Water Nymph.

Meikelia the Water Nymph rescues a Puppy

Water Nymphs sometimes get an undeserved bad name due to the well known legend of evil sirens and how they are depicted in mythology. In reality, Water Nymphs are a type of magical being - closely related to Fairies.  Water Nymphs are mostly friendly, beautiful, light hearted, and kind.  There are only a very few that lure men to water and drown them (the Sirens)..  Like Fairies, Water Nymphs are mostly beings of light and are helpful to mortals.  Some Water Nymphs even have wings.  This is a drawing of Meikelia, a Water Nymph who has just rescued a puppy that fell into the lake.  She is a wingless Water Nymph. Not only is Meikelia very kind but she is also very beautiful.

Water Nymphs tend to wear flowing translucent clothing - when they choose to wear clothing. Of course, some Water Nymphs like to visit the popular mortal beaches.  To do this they will charm up a mortal-style swimming suit and show up at the beach by walking out of the water.  This tends to be freshwater beaches on lakes, however Water Nymphs can tolerate seawater.  But they prefer freshwater bodies of water. In fact freshwater Nymphs are also called Naiads.

After Meikelia gives the puppy back to his mortal people she will use a type of Fairy charm (Olvidalo) to make the mortals forget they saw her.  Of course, sometimes that charm does not work and some motals are left with a beautiful memory of a kind and beautiful Water Nymph encounter.  Even more rare days s a Naiad who wants an ongoing friendship with a mortal or mortals.  Sometimes a whole family will get befriended by one or more Water Nymphs.

Once in a while a Naiad will marry a mortal and choose a mortal life.  This is an interesting relationship because although not immortal, Water Nymphs tend to live for sometimes several hundred years. So, in order to hide their true nature from non-family members the Naiads will perform an ongoing aging charm (Aspicio Major) to make it appear to non family members that they are aging at the same pace as their spouse.  However, with their spouse and family they usually maintain their natural appearance.

Children and descendants of a mortal & Water Nymph marriage love the outdoors and especially love being in bodies of water like lakes, rivers, ponds, & even swimming pools.  In fact, some of the Olympic level swimmers have a Water Nymph in their family genealogy.

These descendants of Water Nymphs who live in the Mortal World will often reconnect with Water Nymph family and friends when visiting a lake or river or pond. These descendants of a Water Nymph & Mortal marriage (who choose to live in the Mortal World) are likely to choose a career related to the outdoors.  (Such as working in a sporting goods store, or working as a forest ranger, biologist, etc.)  Descendants of Sea Nymphs will choose a career involving the ocean such as deep sea fishing, sailor, or even marine biology.

Meikelia works in outdoor recreation. She particularly  loves water sports and is known for her love of animals - especially doggies.  She is also kind, personable & helpful to all the mortals she meets.  Besides being strikingly beautiful (like all Water Nymphs) Meikelia is also very intelligent.  She passes on her enthusiasm for the great outdoors to the mortals she came in contact with.

In mythology Water Nymphs- especially Naiads, are depicted as beautiful, friendly, light hearted & sexy.  The legends & myths failed to note that Water Nymphs are also extremely intelligent.  This makes it easy for a Water Nymph to adapt to mortal life.  Of course that intelligent mind is passed on to the descendants of Water Nymphs.

Having met Meikelia, in a mortal setting, I am not entirely sure if she is a Naiad who chose a mortal life or a descendant that came out of a mortal & Water Nymph marriage.  But her beauty, intelligence, & enthusiasm for life was obvious to my wife and I.

As a final note I want to mention the Potamoi.  They are called River Gods in Mythology, but a Potamoi is actually a male Water Nymph.  These are like the female Nymphs in that they are attractive, kind, and intelligent.

NOTE:  To print this drawing just go to the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Click on the button and scroll down to the bottom of the list of drawings.  New drawings are always at the bottom of the list. Have fun coloring!

Farm Fairies coloring page

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing to print and color is of two Young Farm Fairies.

Young Farm Fairies

Farm Fairies are helpful Fairies.  They will do some chores for farmers then they will do a slight "Olvidalo" charm to make the farmer forget seeing a chore done before the farmer had gotten to it.  Farm Fairies also are known to help lure bees to the correct flowers in fruit orchards.  They do the same for crops like seed hay... when a farmer wants to go for a crop of alfalfa seeds instead of 3 or more crops of alfalfa as feed hay.

These two Fairies are named after plants.  Medick is the young male Fairy.  Medick is the plant family that alfalfa belongs to.  The female Fairy is named Persical.  Persica is the species name for peaches.  These are young teen-aged Fairies.  Fairies age at the same rate as mortals until they are 18.  Then their physical aging slows down markedly.  In fact, a 35-year-old Fairy would look like a 22-year-old to a mortal.

Mommy T. rex coloring page for young children

This is my free coloring pages blog.

There are over 2000 drawings that I have drawn that are on

this blog.  There are a handful of drawings done

by a grandnephew and 2 grandnieces.

Today's new drawing is of a mother Tyrannosaurus rex

Mommy T. rex and Chick

No Mommy is not eating her chick, she is carrying him around,  Modern crocodilians do this so it is possible that larger Theropods carried their offspring as well.  So don't color the baby Tyrannosaur red and dying.  he is having a nice ride.

This drawing is for younger children to color.  It is far less detailed than my drawings for older kids and adults.

NOTE:  This drawing is found, in printable form, by clicking on the button labeled Paleontology and then scrolling to the bottom of the drop-down menu of drawing titles.  To be more specific, scroll down to the bottom of the Mesozoic Life section.  Have fun coloring.
