Utahraptor Father teaching Offspring to Hunt

This is my free coloring pages blog.

There are around 3,000 free-to-print coloring pages here.

Today's drawing is of a Utahraptor father and his offspring.

Utahraptor teaching Offspring to Hunt

Utahraptor was a bigger-than-you-think predatory dinosaur.  They were around 16-23 feet long.  An adult Utahraptor weighed around 700 to 2,200 lbs.  It almost certainly had feathers.  Here we see a Utahraptor with his offspring during a hunting lesson. It was a raptor dinosaur so it had a large claw on the first toe of each foot.  This was a killing claw that now is thought to have probably been used as a stabbing weapon.

The offspring, following his or her father, is a juvenile Utahraptor.  It so happens that this juvenile Utahraptor is about the same size as Velociraptor.  Velociraptor was about 5 to almost 7 feet long.  Much of that length was a long thin tail.  It may have weighed up to 100 pounds.  That made the Velociraptor around 22 times smaller than a large Utahraptor.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled Paleontology.  Then scroll to the bottom of the list.  Click on the title and you will get the coloring page in printable form.  Of course, the picture will only be on the bottom if you are accessing this page on or near May 24, 2024.
