Today's new drawing is of a large Theropod dinosaur from Niger, Africa. It is called Afrovenator.
Welcome back to my free coloring pages blog!
Sorry I have not posted a lot lately. I have been busy helping
my wife recover from some major surgery.
I have surgery next week so I guess I better post some drawings.
There is a backlog of drawings to post.
Since today's dinosaur was found in Niger, Africa I will also be posting this in French and Hausa.
Then I will re-post it in English.
Afrovenator the African Hunter Dinosaur coloring page
Afrovenator means African Hunter. It was a large theropod that was somewhere between 25 and 30 feet long. So maybe it was around 9 meters long. It lived in what is now the country of Niger. It most likely was the top predator of the region. It lived in the Jurassic Period and possibly was a relative of Allosaurus. Allosaurus lived in North America, Europe, and Africa. Afrovenator appears to only have lived in Africa.
The Pterosaurs flying in the background are Rhamphorhynchus. It lived in Europe and Africa in the Jurassic Period, so it is correct to have Rhamphorhynchus in this drawing. Rhamphorhynchus had a wingspan of around 4 feet or 1.8 meters. The name "Rhamphorhynchus" means "beak snout" in Greek.
