Jesus walking in the Mountains

Jesus, as told in the Bible, sometimes went on walks up in the mountains.  He did this to apparently clear his head and certainly to be close to God.  I think that He took those walks also to be close to Nature.  After all, Jesus created the Earth and I think He enjoyed being in and among His creations.  Before he came to Earth and received His body, Jesus, as a Spirit, created this planet we all live on.  He did it under the direction of His and our Heavenly Father.  We all lived with our Heavenly Parents before we came to Earth.  Jesus volunteered and was chosen to be the Savior for all of us.  

I am sure that He loved the animals and plants.  All four gospels tell of Jesus going up to the mountains to be alone.   This can been read in Matthew 14:23, Mark 6:46, Luke 6:12, and John 6:15.

There is an exellent book that came out a few years ago.  It is called Last Child In The Woods.  This  book is about how getting our children out in Nature makes all the difference.  I myself have found peace and solace by going into the Utah Mountains and beautiful places in many parts of the world.  

We members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believe that our first prophet, Joseph Smith, went into Nature to pray out loud... for the first time.  He was only 14 years old at the time.  We believe that Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith to start the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  You may be interested to know that the drawing below, of Joseph Smith's First Vision is the drawing that gave me the idea to start this free coloring pages blog.
