America the Lost A song parody sung to America the Beautiful + Sad Uncle Sam coloring page

I have always avoided political posts on this blog.

But the situation in my home country, the United States of America,

is very worrisome to me. I am downright scared.

I hope this post will not turn off people to my free coloring pages.

But I feel like I need to make this post.

This is a song parody telling it like I see it.

Admittedly, this song parody is not for children.

Not all will agree with my points in the song parody, but again, I felt I really needed to express this:

Sad Uncle Sam

Uncle Sam is a symbol of America or of the United States of America.  I drew him as if he were sad.

America the Lost

Political Song Parody by:  Robin A. Lyman

Sung to the tune of America the Beautiful.

Oh, beautiful under spacious skies

The verdant fields of crops

With no one left to harvest them

Due to ICE special ops

America America

God gave blessings to thee

But you forgot the good

Of brotherhood

Oh, how can you not see?

Oh, beautiful for immigrant feet

Those who work hard and rarely rest

Now you reject them violently

And cause them terrible stress

America! America!

Can you not see your flaw

You’ve sold your soul

To fascist control

With this inhuman law

Oh, beautiful for heroes proved

And they were not all white

Who more than self their country loved,

And many gave their life!

America! America!

May God forgive thy pride

If you oppress

And claim nobleness,

You’ll anger the divine.

Our military should be strong

So fund tanks, missiles, ships, and planes

But troops in the cities are all wrong

It’s tyranny again

America! America!

Honor those in uniform

But when they retire

Their situation could be dire

Abandoning them is very bad form

Oh, beautiful Martin Luther’s dream

That sees beyond the years

Where we are all on the same team

And not fomenting fears!

America! America!

God can’t give grace to thee,

Concentration camps

Where it’s hot and damp

It's a horror to see

Immigrants help thy buildings rise

Hotel staffers offer help

As people shelf the stores’ supplies

And some wrap fish in kelp

America! America!

You need these workers now

Economic collapse

It will not be a blast

You need not to Trump bow

Not beautiful are the mother’s screams

As ICE tears her family apart

As thugs with masks shatter her dreams

It’s like they have no heart

America! America!

Those who harvested corn and peas

Yes, their success

By all were blessed

‘Til ICE deported them overseas

Not beautiful the despot’s dreams

To cause much hate and fear

He and his followers all really seem

To be racists without peer

America! America

I can’t recommend thee

To the God of good

I wish I could

But He despises tyranny

How enlightening Science can be

When truth is sought out

And vaccinations can save many

Unless you’re a clueless lout

America! America!

Climate change is also real

To deny the truth

Is so uncouth

Our flooded coast will be real

Not beautiful in thy allies' eyes

 As you abandon Ukraine

Trump cozying up to dictators

Leads to more suffering and pain

America! America!

Trump wants to rule unconstitutionally

His racist jests

And his tariffs mess

Causes pain at home & overseas

Not beautiful the deficit

That’s set to quickly rise

With Congress being complicit

As they rejoice as democracy dies

America! America!

The truth can yet set you free

Reject Trump’s lies

And his ICE Gestapo guys

To protect your liberty

How beautiful the med providers’ hands

As they care for our ills

Yet the cutting off of Medicaid

Will clearly get some people killed

America! America!

How can you be so cruel?

Education cuts

And school lunch, you gut

And college students can’t afford school

Not beautiful, the MAGA tribe

Who are blind to all they see

A president who lives by lies

Yet MAGA claims Christian piety

America! America!

God sees into your soul

Jesus would be so sad

And certainly he’s mad

That you’ve embraced a hate-filled role

How beautiful what Jesus taught

To feed the hungry and poor

To care for the stranger and take him in

And share when you have more

America! America!

God’s love you do deride

You cause suffering and pain

On your country, it’s a stain

God won’t your wickedness abide

There are those among you

     who fight for what’s true

Christ can feel your pain

He sees the good you try to do

And your good deeds will remain

America! America!

God knows many of you try

To follow Him

Fight against sin

And are full of love ‘til the day you die

Oh, beautiful, the heavenly realms

Where good souls find eternal rest

For their good deeds

To try & meet others’ needs

They will be greatly blessed

Americans! Americans!

One day we all meet our God

Did you care for the poor?

Or were you a selfish boar?

Did you in Christ’s footsteps trod?

Oh, beautiful the Constitution

That gave liberty to all

Yet in fear or anger

You reject the stranger

Oh, how far can you fall?

America! America!

Once a beacon of liberty

Yet now you’re lost

In a tempest-tossed

As you’ve embraced cruelty

With open lies, your president tries

To accuse others of blame

He targets immigrants with lies

And his minions do the same

Americans! Americans!

Wake up to your frightening plight

You enter a cavern

Of despotism

It could be a very long night

I apologize if I offended you, but this song parody is one way I can express my views of the current frightening
situation in my country of the USA. By the way, in a few days I plan to draw a happy Uncle Sam.

New Pictures of Jesus coloring pages

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today, I am posting a few drawings of Jesus.

These drawings were done at church on Sundays.

I draw in Church so I can pay better attention.

It's an ADHD thing.  When I draw, I can really pay better attention.  Plus, I don't fall asleep.

Jesus in a Striped Robe

I wondered if Jesus was maybe in a nice robe, since the soldiers who crucified him were reluctant to tear in apart, so they cast lots for it.  Maybe it was striped with two or more colors.

Jesus Clears the Temple of Moneychangers

This is an understated drawing showing Jesus vs just one of the moneychangers.  The moneychangers were selling sacrificial animals at probably an exorbitant price. Jesus calmly made a whip and drove them out of the Temple.  Jesus was kind and usually meek, but he would not put up with some sins. I am sure he can and will forgive sins of those who repent, but He also is God the Son and has incredible power to punish the unrepentant wicked.

Lazarus Comes Forth

Lazarus was Jesus' friend, along with Lazarus' sisters Mary and Martha.  Mary and Martha are in the foreground of this drawing.  Lazarus is seen about to exit the tomb, but he can't see or hardly move because his body is still bound for burial.  Jesus proved that He had power over death.  This teaches us that He, Jesus, was a willing sacrifice.  The Romans could not have put Him to death unless he allowed it.  He was the Son of God, but He chose to die for us that He might pay the price for our sins so that we can repent.  THAT is the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He died that we might repent and thus be forgiven for our sins.  That means that we CAN change.  Change is the message of the Gospel!

Jesus by the Sea of Galilee

Jesus went to the Sea of Galilee to call His Apostles.  He also spent much of His ministry teaching in Capernaum, which was a city near the Sea of Galilee.

Jesus welcomes Someone into Paradise

Jesus is not a Spirit.  But I am convinced that He, Jesus, often welcomes the spirits of His servants into Paradise when they die.  The Spirit World is divided into two parts: Paradise or temporary Heaven, and Spirit Prison or Hell.  Because Jesus was resurrected, we will all eventually be resurrected, and our spirit will reunite with an eternal body. Then we will be assigned to one of three Kingdoms of Glory, or to Outer Darkness... for the most wicked.  The Kindoms of Glory are: Celestial, Terrrestrial, and Telestial.  The Celestial Kingdom is where we can live with our spouse and families with our Heavenly Parents and our Lord and Savior, who is our big spirit brother, Jesus Christ. We are ALL spirit children of Heavenly Parents.  But Jesus is the only begotten of the Father in the flesh. In fact, before we all came to Earth and received mortal bodies, we had spirit bodies and lived with our Heavenly Parents.

NOTE: These drawings, in printable form, are found by clicking on the "Religious" button.  Then scroll down to the bottom of the New Testament section.  If you are accessing this page in July of 2025, then these drawings' titles will be at the bottom of this part of the list.  Have fun coloring these depictions of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Remember that He loves you.  He died and was resurrected for you.

American Bald Eagle Fishing coloring page

Happy Independence Day to my fellow citizens of the USA!

Today, in honor of Independence Day, I drew an

American Bald Eagle.

American  Bald Eagle Fishing

The American Bald Eagle, or just Bald Eagle, is a large raptor or bird of prey. They have a wingspan of up to 7.5 feet.  They primarily eat fish, so they are called fish eagles or fish raptors.  In Alaska, where I used to live, the Bald Eagles feed on fish, especially the salmon.  So, this eagle is about to seize a salmon.  The salmon doesn't know what is coming.  Bald Eagles can carry a fish weighing over four pounds.  Sometimes another eagle or eagles will try to steal the fish in midair... that another eagle has caught.

Some of my best memories of the Fourth of July come from playing in the BYU Alumni Band.  The director, Mike, and I would get up terribly early and decorate the float.  Then the band would arrive. And we'd drive to the parade and be IN the parade. I especially loved playing the Sousa Marches.  I should mention that our kids and spouses often helped with the float decoration, and my kids were also in the band for many years.  So, I dedicate this Eagle drawing to Mike, who loves American Bald Eagles.  I drew this for you, Mike!

NOTE: This drawing will be posted in the printable pages... after I watch the fireworks outside. So, click on the button labeled Animals and scroll down.  New drawings are at the bottom of the list.  I will also post this under the Bird list and the Holidays list.

Havyn the Orca Mermaid coloring page

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing is of an Orca Mermaid.

Havyn the Orca Mermaid

Nearly all Mermaids and Mermen have a kinship with a particular form of ocean life. This is Havyn who is an Orca Mermaid.  She cares for killer whale calves when the parents are out hunting. She does this when the orca calf is very young and only 7-9 feet long.  As the orca calf grows, he or she will accompany their parents to learn the science of the hunt.

Orcas are disliked by some people because they are killers.  Hence, their other name of killer whale. Did you know that each pod of orcas has their own language and their own culture?  And some pods focus only on eating fish.  Some focus on eating marine mammals like seals.  Some killer whales actually kill and eat the great whales, like the baleen whales. By the way, the term "killer whale" evolved from the original term "whale killer."

Havyn is a strikingly beautiful Mermaid.  She has long blonde hair and a kind nature.  Mermaids and Mermen have their own forms of magic that they use to defend the orca juveniles from danger. The fact is that orca pods will sometimes attack and kill the juveniles of other pods. So, Havyn is on her guard constantly when the mother and her pod have left their offspring with them.  That being said, Havyn will also spend time playing with and teaching the calf. She is kind to the calf, and this develops a lifetime bond.  Since Merpeople live a long time, Havyn is caring for a calf that is the granddaughter and the daughter of a calf she cared for years before.  By the way, if you saw Havyn, you would think she was 20 years old.  In fact, she is one of those mermaids who choose to sometimes, between orca calves - live and serve animals in the mortal world.

I think it is appropriate here to wax philosophical:  The beauty we see is a small fraction of a person's or Mermaid's true beauty.  For example, Havyn is very, very kind.  This kind nature enhances her beauty a great deal.  Interestingly enough, only another good and kind person can see this enhanced beauty.  Evil and selfish people never get to appreciate true beauty because they only look at the outside beauty.

NOTE: This drawing is found in printable form by clicking on the button that says "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  I will also post it on the "Animals" list of drawings.  If you are accessing this site in early to late July 2025, then this drawing will be at or near the bottom of the lists.  Have fun coloring! And later on, in a few days, I will be drawing Havyn from another viewpoint.  I want to face the challenge of drawing her facing the artist so I can share that view of her kind and pretty face with you.
