America the Lost A song parody sung to America the Beautiful + Sad Uncle Sam coloring page

I have always avoided political posts on this blog.

But the situation in my home country, the United States of America,

is very worrisome to me. I am downright scared.

I hope this post will not turn off people to my free coloring pages.

But I feel like I need to make this post.

This is a song parody telling it like I see it.

Admittedly, this song parody is not for children.

Not all will agree with my points in the song parody, but again, I felt I really needed to express this:

Sad Uncle Sam

Uncle Sam is a symbol of America or of the United States of America.  I drew him as if he were sad.

America the Lost

Political Song Parody by:  Robin A. Lyman

Sung to the tune of America the Beautiful.

Oh, beautiful under spacious skies

The verdant fields of crops

With no one left to harvest them

Due to ICE special ops

America America

God gave blessings to thee

But you forgot the good

Of brotherhood

Oh, how can you not see?

Oh, beautiful for immigrant feet

Those who work hard and rarely rest

Now you reject them violently

And cause them terrible stress

America! America!

Can you not see your flaw

You’ve sold your soul

To fascist control

With this inhuman law

Oh, beautiful for heroes proved

And they were not all white

Who more than self their country loved,

And many gave their life!

America! America!

May God forgive thy pride

If you oppress

And claim nobleness,

You’ll anger the divine.

Our military should be strong

So fund tanks, missiles, ships, and planes

But troops in the cities are all wrong

It’s tyranny again

America! America!

Honor those in uniform

But when they retire

Their situation could be dire

Abandoning them is very bad form

Oh, beautiful Martin Luther’s dream

That sees beyond the years

Where we are all on the same team

And not fomenting fears!

America! America!

God can’t give grace to thee,

Concentration camps

Where it’s hot and damp

It's a horror to see

Immigrants help thy buildings rise

Hotel staffers offer help

As people shelf the stores’ supplies

And some wrap fish in kelp

America! America!

You need these workers now

Economic collapse

It will not be a blast

You need not to Trump bow

Not beautiful are the mother’s screams

As ICE tears her family apart

As thugs with masks shatter her dreams

It’s like they have no heart

America! America!

Those who harvested corn and peas

Yes, their success

By all were blessed

‘Til ICE deported them overseas

Not beautiful the despot’s dreams

To cause much hate and fear

He and his followers all really seem

To be racists without peer

America! America

I can’t recommend thee

To the God of good

I wish I could

But He despises tyranny

How enlightening Science can be

When truth is sought out

And vaccinations can save many

Unless you’re a clueless lout

America! America!

Climate change is also real

To deny the truth

Is so uncouth

Our flooded coast will be real

Not beautiful in thy allies' eyes

 As you abandon Ukraine

Trump cozying up to dictators

Leads to more suffering and pain

America! America!

Trump wants to rule unconstitutionally

His racist jests

And his tariffs mess

Causes pain at home & overseas

Not beautiful the deficit

That’s set to quickly rise

With Congress being complicit

As they rejoice as democracy dies

America! America!

The truth can yet set you free

Reject Trump’s lies

And his ICE Gestapo guys

To protect your liberty

How beautiful the med providers’ hands

As they care for our ills

Yet the cutting off of Medicaid

Will clearly get some people killed

America! America!

How can you be so cruel?

Education cuts

And school lunch, you gut

And college students can’t afford school

Not beautiful, the MAGA tribe

Who are blind to all they see

A president who lives by lies

Yet MAGA claims Christian piety

America! America!

God sees into your soul

Jesus would be so sad

And certainly he’s mad

That you’ve embraced a hate-filled role

How beautiful what Jesus taught

To feed the hungry and poor

To care for the stranger and take him in

And share when you have more

America! America!

God’s love you do deride

You cause suffering and pain

On your country, it’s a stain

God won’t your wickedness abide

There are those among you

     who fight for what’s true

Christ can feel your pain

He sees the good you try to do

And your good deeds will remain

America! America!

God knows many of you try

To follow Him

Fight against sin

And are full of love ‘til the day you die

Oh, beautiful, the heavenly realms

Where good souls find eternal rest

For their good deeds

To try & meet others’ needs

They will be greatly blessed

Americans! Americans!

One day we all meet our God

Did you care for the poor?

Or were you a selfish boar?

Did you in Christ’s footsteps trod?

Oh, beautiful the Constitution

That gave liberty to all

Yet in fear or anger

You reject the stranger

Oh, how far can you fall?

America! America!

Once a beacon of liberty

Yet now you’re lost

In a tempest-tossed

As you’ve embraced cruelty

With open lies, your president tries

To accuse others of blame

He targets immigrants with lies

And his minions do the same

Americans! Americans!

Wake up to your frightening plight

You enter a cavern

Of despotism

It could be a very long night

I apologize if I offended you, but this song parody is one way I can express my views of the current frightening
situation in my country of the USA. By the way, in a few days I plan to draw a happy Uncle Sam.
