Так что, несмотря на то, что сейчас тяжелые времена, а вирус COVID 19 преследует всех нас, все еще есть надежда на светлое будущее. El León que se establece con el Cordero. Ese es el dibujo de hoy. Ha pasado un tiempo desde que hice un dibujo religioso. Esta imagen es lo que se nos promete que el mundo será como en el gran Día Milenial cuando Jesús ha regresado a la Tierra. Él morará aquí con la gente justa durante mil años. El león se acostará con el cordero, etc.



Por supuesto, al comienzo del Milenio, es cuando Jesús regresará a la Tierra y todos los muertos que murieron en Cristo resucitarán. Eso significa que recuperarán sus cuerpos. Sus cuerpos resucitados serán glorificados y perfeccionados.



Después del Milenio de la Paz llega el juicio final. Las personas malvadas, que tuvieron que esperar en la parte de la prisión espiritual del mundo espiritual, finalmente resucitarán. Este fin de semana nuestro profeta nos pidió a todos ayunar para aliviarse de este terrible virus que está causando tanto dolor en todo el mundo.



Quiero animarlos a todos a recurrir al Señor en este momento. Tal vez esta crisis mundial es la preparación para la Segunda Venida de Cristo, o tal vez es sólo un simulacro. Pero aún así, creo que es un momento en el que podemos aprender a reconectarnos con nuestros seres queridos con los que vivimos. Y podemos hacer llamadas telefónicas o video chat con nuestros seres queridos que no podemos visitar en persona. Me acuerdo de llamar a mis hermanos que en su mayoría viven lejos.

Lion laying down with the Lamb 

(If you looked at this post before you may have noticed that I added to the Lion's Mane.)

This has to do with the quote:  "An artist doesn't complete a work of art, we just abandon it."

I realized that I abandoned this lion and lamb drawing too soon.  

So I went back and fixed the mane on the lion and the leg on the lamb.)

The Lion laying down with the Lamb.  That is today's drawing.  It has been a while since I did a religious drawing.  This image is what we are promised the world will be like in the great Millenial Day when Jesus has returned to Earth.  He will dwell here with the righteous people for a thousand years. The lion will lie down with the lamb etc.

Of course, at the start of the Millenium, is when Jesus will return to Earth and all the dead who died in Christ will be resurrected.  That means that they will get their bodies back.  Their resurrected bodies will be glorified and perfected.

After the Millenium of Peace then comes the final judgment.  The wicked people, who had to wait in the Spirit Prison part of the Spirit World will finally be resurrected.  Then we all will be given our final judgment.  We will be assigned to one of three kingdoms, because Jesus said, "In my father's house are many mansions."  The very very wicked will be going to outer darkness at that time.

But the righteous will be able to dwell forever with their righteous loved ones in the Celestial Kingdom of God.  We also believe that those who have been sealed in the Temple of God will be able to maintain their marriage for time and all eternity.

So even though times are rough right now, with the COVID 19 virus haunting us all, there is still a hope for a bright future.  In fact, I want to share with you all that my wife and I both have felt the calming assurance of the Holy Ghost telling us that God is still in charge.  We don't know if we will escape the virus.  If we do get it then it probably will mean that our time on Earth is done.  If that is God's will then so be it.  But we don't WANT to leave mortality.  We are enjoying life and watching our children (who are all adults) continue to grow and mature.  Plus we LOVE being grandparents.

So like many many people on Earth right now, we are sheltering in place in our home.  Our prophet has told us to have our church meetings at home.  So I blessed and passed the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper and my wife and I partook of it together.  Today we were out of bread so we used flour tortillas instead of bread.  (My wife will be making more bread this week.) We are looking forward to the General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Conference will be next weekend.  Our prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, and the 12 Apostles and other leaders of our church will surely give inspiring messages.  This weekend our prophet asked us all to fast for relief from this terrible virus that is causing so much grief worldwide.

I want to encourage you all to turn to the Lord at this time.  Maybe this world crisis is the build-up to the Second Coming of Christ, or maybe it is just a practice run.  But still, I believe it is a time when we can learn to reconnect with our loved ones we live with.  And we can make phone calls or video chat with our loved ones who we can't visit in person.  I am remembering to call my siblings who mostly live far away.

Dineobellator a newly discovered American Raptor coloring page

Dineobellator 

Dineobellator notohesperus was a raptor that lived at the end of the dinosaur era 67 million years ago.  It was a Dromeosaur.  This find, in the USA state of New Mexico shows that raptors were alive and well before the meteorite blasted the Earth.  There is evidence that before the strike dinosaurs were in decline in some parts of the world.  But it appears that raptors, at least in what is now the state of New Mexico were thriving.  

Dineobellator was unique among raptors because it had a highly flexible tail at the base of the tail.  That means that like a cheetah, it could use its tail to change directions when chasing down prey.   It had big hands and a flexible tail like a cheetah. It could run and turn on a dime by using its tail as a rudder. .Dineobellator also had very flexible hands so it could grab and hold on to prey.  It also had larger hands than many other raptors.  Dineobellator could twist its hands around much farther than other raptors.  This dexterity and strong hands would have allowed Dineobellator to grab and hold on to smaller prey and perhaps to slash larger prey, like other dinosaurs, with its hands as well as its feet.  

The forearm bones that were found in New Mexico had quill knobs that are attachment sites for feathers.  So this is some of the first evidence that North American raptors had feathers.  Previous evidence has mostly been seen of feathers on the raptors from Asia.  

Dineobellator was about 6.5 feet long or about 2 meters long.  It would have looked much like a modern roadrunner, although it was quite a bit bigger than a roadrunner.  Dineobellator stood around a yard or about a meter tall.  Although it looked like a roadrunner, it would have been a very dangerous animal.  It had the huge killer claw on each foot and it had large hands and finger claws that were also quite large. So you couldn't have one as a pet because it would probably slash you and have you for breakfast.  

The Genus name is Dineobellator.  The species name is notohesperus.  So the full scientific name for this newly discovered dinosaur is Dineobellator notohesperus.  The name means Navajo warrior from the southwest.  

Eyewitness Natural Disasters Science Readings and Worksheets

This is a free coloring pages blog.  But I have also started to include Science worksheets with a reading.  These assignments go with a video that is available by searching online.  Today's post is Eyewitness Natural Disaster. 

This video is really well done, like all of the Eyewitness Educational Videos.  This video, Eyewitness Natural Disaster is about earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods and tsunamis.  It also touches on mudslides or landslides and (snow) avalanches.  There is also an excellent discussion and analogy on Plate Tectonics. 

On a personal note.  When the video talks about damages that an avalanche can do I remembered that there is this beautiful waterfall here in Utah.  It is up Provo Canyon and it is called Bridal Veil Falls. In front of the falls on a grassy area is where my future wife told me for the first time that she loved me.  That grassy area, along with a fish pond, a snack shack made from an old caboose, a gift shop, and a cool tram ride that used to take you in front of the waterfall and up to a restaurant at the top. . . those were all destroyed by an avalanche in the winter of 1996.
