Mother Nanotyrannus at Hatching Time

This is my free coloring page blog with thousands of drawings I have colored for you to print and color.

Today's new drawing is of a type of Tyrannosaur called Nanotyrannus.

Mother Nanotyrannus at Hatching Time

Nanotyrannus is or was a smaller species of Tyrannosaur. It was 15 to 18 feet or 4.5 to 6.6 meters long. It weighed 1000 to 1550 lbs or massed at 450 to 700 meters. It lived as a contemporary predator at the same time as T. rex.

Some paleontologists have postulated that Nanotyrannus was a juvenile T. rex. More recent studies ahve confirmed that it was its own unique species. It probably preyed on smaller animals so that it did not directly compete with the much larger cousin Tyrannosaurus rex. Nanotyrannus was probably covered or at least partially covered with feathers or hair-like protofeathers.

NOTE: This drawing in printable form is found by clicking on the button labeled "Paleontology" and then scrolling down to the bottom of the Mesozoic Life section. IF you are accessing this site in late January or February 2026, then you will find the title to this drawing at or near the bottom of the list of paleontology drawings.
