Welcome to my free coloring pages blog!
Today's new drawing is a cartoon drawing of a mother Tyrannosaurus rex
or T. rex carrying her chick in her mouth.
T. rex Mommy takes her Chick for a Walk
(This is a simpler drawing for younger kids to color.)
There is some evidence that Theropods were good parents. Baby Theropods in eggs (fossilized of course) were found in Portugal and they clearly could not care for themselves when hatched. So, even though a T. rex might have weighed up to 18,000 lbs. it may have been a tender parent. The modern members of the crocodile family often carry their young in their mouth so this mother T. rex is holding her chick in her mouth. There were actually several species of Tyrannosaurs. Albertosaurus was one of them. A pack of Albertosaurus - that died together, is evidence that the Tyrannosaurs lived and hunted together in packs. A pack of Tyrannosaurs is called a "Terror of Tyrannosaurs."
NOTE: This drawing, in printable form, can be found by clicking on the button labeled Paleontology and then scroll down to the bottom of the Mesozoic section of the lists. The NEW drawings are at the bottom of the corrected list in this blog. There are a few other Tyrannosaur parents coloring pages below. They are from previous posts. . . so their printable version will be further up the list.
