Dueling Dragons

Sorry I have not posted in several days.  I got very upset about the things happening in my country. 

Yes, I live in the USA.  The targeting of hard working good people who are immigrants 

seems cruel and rather foolish since we rely on their labor to keep our economy going. 

I also have a problem with my computer so I have to borrow one to post.

Anyway, this is a drawing done by one of my grandnephews.  He is of elementary school age. 

I think he did a great job drawing these two "Dueling Dragons."

Dueling Dragons

As you can probably imagine, dragons don't always get along.  This drawing depicts a dragon duel.  Both dragons try to overwhelm their rival with hot fire.  This fire is from the methane gas that dragons store in their throat in a special organ called the pyroex,  The methane is made in the dragon's digestive system and a tubular organ called the methotubo takes the methane to the pyroex.  When a dragon wants to shoot fire it uses a few special teeth called incinderdons.  These teeth are high in iron so they spark when he dragon snaps its mouth closed.  This ignites the methane as it is projected out of the dragon's mouth.  

I should mention that some dragons make hydrogen gas out of water.  They have both a pyroex organ and a LOX organ.  They expel liquid oxygen along with the hydrogen when they want to shoot or breathe fire.  The liquid oxygen immediately goes into a gas stare and interacts with the hydrogen gas when the incinderdons spark.

This drawing was misplaced a few months ago, so I drew Marcelio in another picture.

So this is the second drawing of Marcelio the Jedi. But technically it is the first drawn but second posted.

Sea Dragon Fairy

Today's new drawing is of a type of Fairy that lives by the ocean.  

Marinia the Sea Dragon Fairy

Marinia is a Sea Fairy. Sea Fairies live near the ocean and have special adaptations for living near the water.  Like Merpeople, they can breathe underwater.  They have specialized lungs that can extract oxygen from air AND water.  But unlike Merpeople, Sea Fairies don't usually live IN the ocean.  But they DO live close by the ocean.  

Some Sea Fairies, like Marinia, are on very friendly terms with Sea Monsters.  These are also called Sea Dragons.  These Sea Monsters get a bad rap.  They are actually quite friendly with Merpeople and Sea Fairies.  Sea Monsters only attack mortal ships when they, the Sea Monsters, are threatened.  

Sea Monsters have their own kind of magic, and especially an ability to make mortals forget that they saw a Sea Monster. Of course, Sea Monsters don't always use this amnesia-causing ability, which is why there are old legends of Sea Monsters.  They were seen much more often in the age of sail and whaling because the Sea Monsters were sometimes mistaken for whales and attacked by whalers. 

Marinia is a beautiful Sea Fairy, but since she is especially friendly with the Sea Monsters, she is also called a Sea Monster Fairy.  She can fly through the air with her wings and fly through the sea with her wings... like a penguin does.  She often takes care of a Sea Monster Mother's single egg when hatching is imminent.  That is what she is doing here.  She will help raise the young Sea Monster until it is big enough to swim the oceans with his or her mother.

Shri rapax - a newly discovered Raptor Dinosaur

Today, the new drawing is of a fairly newly discovered raptor dinosaur.

It is called Shri rapax.

Shri rapax

Shri rapax was a small raptor dinosaur that lived concurrently with the better-known Velociraptor.  Shri rapax was only 2 meters or around 7 feet long. It lived in what is now Mongolia.  It was about the same size as Velociraptor, but Shri had longer arms and longer sickle-like claws on its hands.  It almost certainly was a feathered dinosaur.  It had many bone evidences that show it was closely related to modern birds. 

The Pterosaur is a member of the Azhdarchidae family of Pterosaurs.  It is possibly a Nipponopterus or, more likely, a Burkant.  Both had a wingspan of up to 11 feet 6 inches or 3.5 meters wide. But Burkant lived in what is now Mongolia.  With limited fossilized material, it is possible that these are actually the same species.  By the way, Nipponopterus was found in Japan. The fossil remains of both are quite similar.

Jesus will help you fight your dragons!

Jesus helps a Man fight his Dragons

Jesus will help us all fight our dragons.  This means He will take our burdens.  I read that to be that Jesus will help us overcome our trials.  This can be by Him removing the trial or by Him making us equal to the task of handling the trial.  This can include addictions, health challenges, relationship challenges, monetary challenges, etc.  So be willing to turn to Him. 

Understand that I, myself, have overcome some addiction and I face multiple health challengers due to a birth defect over 60 years ago.  Twenty years ago, I was told I would not survive a few days.  Here I am, with God's help.  It has not been easy, but it HAS been worth it. With Heavenly Father's help I hope to keep positive as much as I can and live at least several more years.  

There are two ways to handle trials if you are a believer.  One, get mad at God.  Two, turn TO God. You are going to have the trials either way.  So, in my opinion, you might as well get God's help dealing with the trials.  Heavenly Father loves you, as does your Heavenly Mother.  And our elder spirit brother, Jesus also understands our trials in a unique way.  When He suffered in Gethsemane and on the cross, He took upon Himself all the eternal punishment for our sins - if we repent.  But Jesus also felt every pain and anguish we all face in our mortal life.  So He can understand what we are going through.  

So TURN to our Savior, Jesus Christ.  He is your advocate with God the Father. They will send you the Comforter - AKA the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit.  This can make all the difference.

An Angel appears to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane

Today's new drawing is of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane 

and an angel appears to Him to give Him strength.  

An Angel Appears to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane

While Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, an Angel appeared to Him to strengthen Him.  We members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that Jesus began to pay the eternal price for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane.  This terrible suffering continued with His trial and crucifixion.  He, Jesus, suffered for each of us.  He knew that there was an eternal price to pay for sins.  We all have sinned... except Jesus.  

As the Son of God, Jesus was immortal, unless He chose to die.  He told His disciples that He came to Earth to die for all of us.  His Atonement makes repentance possible.  Therefore, if we repent of our sins, we can live with our Earthly family and our Heavenly Parents in glorified resurrected bodies in the Celestial Kingdom of our God.  Jesus' resurrection made OUR resurrection possible. So when we die, we go to Paradise or Spirit Prison.  There we rest from our trials, but worthy believers teach other spirits about Jesus and His Atonement.  Spirit Prison is also known as hell.  

To clarify, Jesus is our big brother.  He is our eldest spirit brother.  We all lived in a premortal life with our Heavenly Parents and our spirit brothers and sisters.  Jesus volunteered to be our Savior and suffer and die to pay that eternal price for our sins.  Yet when He was on Earth, He never sinned.  

When Jesus returns in glory to reign over the Earth, the righteous spirits will be resurrected, meaning they will get a glorified immortal body, and their spirit will go into that perfect body.  Then the righteous will live for a thousand years on Earth in joy and peace.  Mortals will also live in this wonderful situation.  When they get old during this Millennial period, mortals will be changed in the twinkling of an eye to immortals.  

Of course, our spirits are and always have been immortal.  We need to be thankful for the eternal nature of our future glorified resurrected bodies.  And, of course, we need to be VERY thankful for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Gondwanax a Triassic Dinosaur coloring page

 Today's new drawing is of one of the earliest dinosaurs. 

This is Gondwanax.

Gondwanax a Triassic Dinosaur

Gondwanax is a new find.  It was a very early dinosaur from the ornithischian-bird-hipped dinosaur.  It was an ancestor of the other bird-hipped dinosaurs like the long-necked Sauropods and horned Ceratopsians.  It was found in Brazil.  It was small compared to its probable descendants like Uberabatitan and Triceratops.  Gondwanax paraisensis was around 39 inches or 1 meter long, counting the long tail.  It weighed up to 13 lbs or 6 kg.  Basically, it was the size of a small dog. 

Gondwanx lived around 10 million years before other early dinosaurs like Coelophysis.  Gondwanx may have been a carnivore or maybe a herbivore.  Its descendants were herbivores. 

The drawing has several Triassic plants, so I will tell you what some of them are called: The Lower right-hand corner is a cycad.  Lower left side near the bottom of the drawing, and in several other places, is Macroaeniopteris.  Under the dinosaur's tail is a Triassic fern.  Upper right corner are two Triassic Carboniferous Pines.  This type of tree first appeared in the Carboniferous Period.  To the left of the pines is a fern pine.  The small tree that the dinosaur is about to feast on is a Ginkgo biloba tree.  This is a tree that first evolved in the Triassic period.  It was thought to be extinct until live ginkgo trees were found in a Chinese Monastery.  It now is a popular ornamental tree.
