Sloths coloring pages

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing is of a Baby Sloth.

Juvenile Sloth climbing a Tree

This is a baby sloth.  You could also call it a Juvenile Sloth.  This drawing is of a 3 toed sloth.  They live in tropical forests and spend most of their lives hanging from branches.  This juvenile sloth, in the new drawing up top, is climbing up a tropical tree.  Sloths are very slow-moving and all living species of sloths are smaller animals and live in trees.

Thousands of years ago there were giant sloths that were larger. Some of these Gaint Ground Sloths were as big as a woolly mammoth.  Giant Ground Sloths went extinct 11,000 years ago.  These Giant Sloths could defend themselves with long claws powered by huge arms.

Modern sloths have terrible vision.  They move very slowly because it is their survival strategy.  They eat leaves from the Cecropia Tree.  The sloths digest these leaves very slowly in multichambered stomachs.

Sloth hair or fur is a place where algae lives and that helps the sloth stay camouflaged in trees.  There are even Sloth Moths that live in the sloth's fur.  These organisms all seem to have a symbiotic relationship with each other.  The moths help the algae grow and the algae helps the sloth stay camouflaged.

Two-toed Sloths are omnivorous but three-toed sloths are pretty much pure herbivores.  The three-toed sloths have an odd adaptation where they climb down to the ground, under their tree, and defecate after digging a hole.  Then they cover the hole up.  This acts as fertilizer for the tree.

Unicorns Coloring Pages with 2 New Drawings and Several Older Drawings

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog.

There are no fees to print and color my coloring pages.

I am Robin Lyman, a retired/disabled Junior High Science Teacher.

I also taught Elementary School for 11 years.

Today's two new drawings are of Unicorns.

One is realistic and one is a cartoon drawing.

Unicorn & Fairy at a Southern Utah Desert Overlook

(1st new drawing today)

Unicorn with Fairy Friend under a Tree

(2nd new drawing)

Unicorns are magical animals and they are equivalent to Fairies in intelligence.  So, both Unicorns and Fairies are sentient beings.  That makes them as intelligent as humans.  Fairies and Unicorns are very friendly to each other.  The one difference is there are Dark Fairies that Unicorns don't care for.

This first Unicorn and Fairy drawing is more realistic and the Unicorn is in Southern Utah.  Soaruthern Utah has several national parks and the red rock desert is magnificent!  The things that look like dripping on the cliffs are magnesium stains on the rocks.  Recently some researchers have found in these stains what looks to be a new form of life.

There are many Unicorns who spend some of their time out in the wild as members of a herd of wild Mustang horses.  The Unicorn will take leadership of the herd and stay for a while until they choose to go visit a Fairy Village.  In fact, Unicorns like to spend winters in Fairy Villages to be safe from the cold.  This Unicorn is a Male Unicorn or Unicorn Stallion.  His name is Nitis and that means "Friend."

Fairies live underground in beautiful villages that are usually located under trees.  The Fairies can transform from their 5 inches or so Fairy size to any size up to around 9 feet.  So this Fairy is about the size of a 6 or 7-year-old human girl.  She can go back to her Fairy size when she goes home.  Her name is Takoda, which is a Native American name that means "Friend to All."

The second new Unicorn and Fairy drawing is a cartoon drawing.  The unicorn is named Lin.  Lin means "Horse" in Navajo. But of course, a Unicorn is not a horse... however Unicorns look a lot like horses.  But Unicorns are far more intelligent than horses.

The kind Female Fairy in this cartoon drawing is named Bilasaana, which means AppleTree in the Native American Language of Navajo.  She cultivates apple trees so she is giving an apple to her friend Lin.

These drawings, in printable form, can be found by clicking the "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus" button and then scrolling down to the bottom of the page.  The printable versions of the older drawings are found further up the list.  I am posting several older Unicorn drawings below this paragraph.  However, these drawings may not be presently available due to a security update by Google.  I am working on fixing this.  In the meantime, you can email me and I can give you access to any of my drawings.  By the way, there are many more Unicorn drawings on the list.  There are also a lot of Fairy drawings.

Jesus in the Premortal Life coloring page

Welcome or welcome back to my Free Coloring Pages Blog!

Today's new drawing is our Savior in our Premortal Life.

Jesus in our Premortal Life

Before Jesus lived on Earth He lived in our Premoratl Life with our Heavenly Parents.  We were all there.  We were there as Spirits.   So we had a Spirit body.  When Jesus presented God's plan... or when God presented His plan for mankind Jesus supported Heavenly Father and volunteered to become our Savior and pay the Eternal Price for our sins IF we choose to repent and strive to do better.

This drawing is supposed to represent Jesus supporting Father in Heaven's plan of salvation.  In the Plan of Salvation we come to Earth to get a body and to have our agency or freedom to choose to be tested.  We all sin so Jesus was to come to Earth to suffer and die and pay the eternal price for our sins.

Satan was also there.  He wanted to deny all mankind their free agency.  He wanted us all to be forced to be good.  He convinced 1/3 of the Hosts of Heaven to f/ollow him.  But 2/3 of us chose to follow Heavenly Father and Jesus and support the plan for us to have our free agency.

Agency or Free Agency means we have the opportunity to choose.  Free Agency does NOT free us from the consequences of our choices.  The consequence of sin is being separated from God.  And since we all sin, we all needed and need Jesus and His Atonement.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Religious."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the General Religious list and the title of this drawing will be there.

May, the Mud Fairy and other Mud Fairies & Water Fairies coloring pages

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing is of a Mud Fairy named May.

May is also a River Fairy.

May the Mud Fairy

(new drawing)

May is a Mud Fairy AND a River Fairy.  In this first drawing, she is seen having just landed in the shallow stream to wash up.  She had transformed to mortal size and then gone to look for crayfish or crawdads in the mud.  Now she is washing up.  Below is a drawing of May the RIVER Fairy.  They are the same Fairy.  In this second drawing, May is done washing up.

May is a young - beautiful little girl Fairy.  She lives in an underground magical village with her family.  She sometimes is asked to go out to search for crawdads in the mud.  A crawdad is nearly as big as a Fairy in the Fairy's diminutive natural size of about 5 inches tall.  So when searching for crawdads, which are also called crayfish, May uses her magic and the advanced Fairy Technology to transform into a mortal-sized little girl of about 6 years old.  When she is mortal sized she can more easily dig in the mud and find and collect crawdads.

As you can see, May prefers plant-based clothing.  So she is wearing a blouse and a pair of pants made from the leaves of small local plants.  The outfits grows in size with her when she transforms to mortal size.

May has a best friend among the animals of the woods.  This animal is a male or buck Whitetail Deer.  His name is Stag.  Stag loves rolling in the mud sometimes.  So he has no problem using his powerful sense of smell to help May find the crawdads.  In fact, did you know that Whitetail Deer have a sense of smell like a dog's... meaning they can smell things 500-1000 times more than a human.  Of course, Fairies also have a greater sense of smell than their human cousins, but their sense of smell is nowhere near that of a dog or a deer.  So Stag really helps May fid the crawdads or crawfish.

Did you know that Whitetail Deer are omnivores.  They DO eat small animals or carrion that they find.  This includes fish that they find washed up on the shore of lakes and riveers.  They also eat bugs or Arthropods.  Since crayfish are also Arthropods it is not a stretch to think that Whitetail Deer also eat crawdads.  So, that being said, Stag eats crayfish and that is another reason he helps May find them.

May is a Fairy so she can use a summoning charm to get crawfish out of the mud... IF the crawdads are not too deep.  If they are too deep in the mud she has to dig with her hands.  That is why she has so much mud on her hands, feet, and even on her face.  She was digging in the mud.  May will share some of the crayfish with Stag... which helps motivate Stag to help her find the crayfish. By the way, I am using the terms "crayfish" and "crawdads" interchangeably because they ARE the same animal.

If you are wondering why the May is not holding the crayfish bucket it is because she already took it to her village entrance.  Than entrance is in one of the pine trees behind her... just beyond the bushes that are on the banks of the river.  She flies to the village entrance while still in her mortal form or size.  This make it easier to carry the bucket, although when she is an adult Fairy she will have more powerful magic and be able to fly while carrying things like a bucket full of crayfish.  So she flew the crawdads to her village entrance and then she flew back to the river. (The crawdads were found in the mud on the banks of the river or in the water.  She is now washing off the mud while standing in the river.  Of course it is a small stream, but a stream is still a river... albeit a small river.

May the River Fairy all cleaned up

(Can you see all the differences in this drawing?  Also, can you spot the "happy bushes?"

Answers at the bottom of this page.)

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled:  "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the list for this new Fairy drawing.  Below are some other River Fairies from previous posts.

(Fairy Healers often specialize in finding river plants with medicinal qualities.)

Fairy on a Lilypad
(This is a Pond Fairy.)

Here are some of the difference in the two top drawings:  bunny, shading on plants, fingers on one hand are in different position, wing patterns are not exactly alike as the wing patterns in first drawing, river rocks are different, reflectioins in water near the far shore, more birds in second drawing, more leaf shafts in reeds in foreground, less shafts in reeds in background, and patterns on some of the rocks in the stream.  Do you spot any other differences?
Also, one happy bush is in the background and the deer is facing it and May's finger is pointing at it in the first drawing, The other happy bush is on the left side of the drawing in the foreground.

Late Jurassic Predators coloring pages

Welcome or welcome back to my free coloring pages blog!

Juvenile Allosaurus

(New drawing today)

Allosaurus was the top predator of the Late Jurassic.  It was up to 40 feet long and had large three-clawed hands for slashing prey... as well as many sharp teeth in a big Theropod mouth.  In the Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry in Eastern Utah, they found 46 Allosaaurus in this quarry.  It was possibly a predator trap where an animal got stuck in the mud and the predators came along and thought "Free food!"  But then the predators got stuck in the mud too.  The quarry also had several species of herbivorous dinosaurs and a few more species of predatory dinosaurs besides Allosaurus. This included one Torvosaurus, a type of Allosaur that was more robust than Allosaurus.  So it was beefier and had bigger bones.  There also was one Ceratosaurus.  This was a more primitive Theropod that possibly was outcompeted by Allosaurus and Torvosaurus and thus went extinct before the two larger predatory Theropod dinosaurs.  But there were more Allosaurus than any other type of dinosaur in what may have been a dinosaur and especially a predator trap.

NOTE:  The new drawing, at the top of the page... is found by clicking on the button labeled Paleontology and scrolling down to the bottom of the Mesozoic section.   The other drawings found below on THIS page... are found further up the list of printables.

Flower Fairies - Tulipia the Tulip Fairy

Flower Fairies specialize in flowers.   This Flower Fairy is named Tulipia.  She lives in Cuba.  We know this because the hummingbird in the drawing is a Bee Hummingbird.  Bee Hummingbirds are only 2 1/2 inches long and they are only found on the island nation of Cuba.  So, since they speak Spanish in Cuba, I am posting this in Spanish as well as English.
