Viking Woman training with Sword

A photo of my awesome niece was the original source or model for this drawing  My niece is holding a Viking style sword.  She trains people in sword fighting skills.  She is also a brilliant illustrator.  Maybe we got the same drawing gene... but she must have got more of it than I did.  

Before you think that Viking women never went to battle, so they would not need to do any training with a sword, I want to let you know that Viking women, at least SOMETIMES did fight in battles.  

The Byzantine era was around A.D. 971.  A historian, from that era, named Johannes Skylitzes, recorded that women were fighting with the men.  He referred to Varangian Vikings in a battle against the Bulgarians. 

The Viking longhouse you see in the background is made of timber frames, walls of wattle and daub... and sporting a thatched roof.  In Iceland, where wood became scarce due to over cutting, the Vikings built houses of sod.  The woven fence you see is a Viking style fence.

The Viking families or family lived in the center section of the longhouse.  One end housed a barn or stable and the other end of the longhouse was often a workshop. Some longhouses were 250 feet long!  That would be over 76 meters!

There are lots of Water Fairies.  Some live IN the water, but most just like living near water. They are divided up into groups, based on where they live or what types of bodies of water they prefer.  So, there are several types of Water Fairies.  They are River Fairies, Lake Fairies, Ocean or Sea or Beach Fairies, and Stream Fairies.  Some Pond Fairies prefer to be called Wetland Fairies.  I should mention that there are also Water Dragon Fairies that care for Water Dragon eggs.

Today's drawing is a Pond Fairy.  She is from Norway so the title of the drawing is "Norwegian Pond Fairy."  She is kneeling on a lily pad that is floating in a beautiful pond that is located at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve in Norway.  

Pond Fairies take care of small bodies of water called ponds.  They also are the Wetland Fairies that care for wetlands.  So, in Florida, the Pond Fairies are sometimes known as Everglade Fairies. 

Some Water Fairies prefer clothing made out of plants... like leaves.  Other Water Fairies prefer to wear more cloth-like clothing.

Alma was a great prophet of the Book of Mormon.  He heard that some of his people had rebelled against God and started their own city.  They were calling themselves Zoramites.  The Zoramites built synagogues or churches but they had an unusual way of worshipping.  They entered the synagogue and climbed up a tower or high podium that was inside the building.  They called this podium the Rameumtum.  On the Rameumptum they would saw a memorized prayer that was an antichrist prayer.  These some people were also persecuting the poor among them.  

Alma and Amulek climbed a hill and began teaching the people.  The wealthy people were NOT accepting what was being taught about Christ and His atonement.  Then a group of poor people came up the hill and Alma began to teach them because their poverty had made them humble.

Alma compared the Word of God to a seed that... IF you nourished it... would grow up to a Tree of Life with sweet fruit that was the best of all fruit.  We know that the fruit is the Love of God.  The poor people listened and many were converted.  The wicked people continued on in their wickedness.  So the wicked people did not repent of their sins.  The poor people DID repent and we can suppose that they have Eternal Life.  

I think that we can also compare relationships to a seed.  If you think about it... you could say that Alma was comparing a seed to our relationship with God.  I think that you can compare your relationship with others to a seed.  If you nourish the relationship you can expect the relationship to thrive and to become good friends with the other person... or with God for that matter.  The chapter also explains that when you exercise faith you eventually know for sure... and your faith becomes dormant because you KNOW the truth.  

I suggest you read the chapter in The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Christ.  The comparison is in Alma, chapter 32.  It is one of my favorite chapters of scripture.

Alma était un grand prophète du Livre de Mormon. Il a entendu que certains de ses gens s'étaient rebellés contre Dieu et avaient fondé leur propre ville. Ils s'appelaient eux-mêmes Zoramites. Les Zoramites ont construit des synagogues ou des églises, mais ils avaient une façon inhabituelle d'adorer. Sur le Rameumptum, ils voyaient une prière mémorisée qui était une prière antichrist. Ces quelques personnes persécutaient aussi les pauvres parmi eux.



Alma Et Amulek ont gravi une colline et ont commencé à enseigner aux gens. Les gens riches n'acceptaient pas ce qui était enseigné sur le Christ et son expiation. Puis un groupe de pauvres est venu sur la colline Et Alma a commencé à leur enseigner parce que leur pauvreté les avait rendus humbles.



Alma a comparé la Parole de Dieu à une semence qui... SI vous nourrit... grandirait jusqu'à un arbre de vie avec des fruits sucrés qui était le meilleur de tous les fruits. Nous savons que le fruit est L'amour de Dieu. Les pauvres ont écouté et beaucoup ont été convertis. Les méchants ont continué dans leur méchanceté. Ainsi, les méchants ne se sont pas repentis de leurs péchés. Les pauvres se sont repentis et nous pouvons supposer qu'ils ont la vie éternelle.



Je pense que nous pouvons aussi comparer les relations à une graine. Si vous pensez à ce sujet... on pourrait dire Qu'Alma comparait une graine à notre relation avec Dieu. Je pense que vous pouvez comparer votre relation avec les autres à une graine. Si vous nourrir la relation, vous pouvez vous attendre à la relation de s'épanouir et à devenir de bons amis avec l'autre personne... dieu ou avec Dieu, pour cette question. Le chapitre explique également que lorsque vous exercez la foi, vous savez finalement à coup sûr... et votre foi devient dormante parce que vous connaissez la vérité.



Je vous suggère de lire le chapitre du Livre de Mormon, un autre Testament du Christ. La comparaison se trouve dans Alma, chapitre 32. C'est l'un de mes chapitres préférés de l'écriture.

Alma war ein großer prophet des Buches Mormon. Er hörte, dass einige seiner Leute gegen Gott rebelliert hatten und Ihre eigene Stadt gründeten. Sie nannten sich Zoramiten. Die Zoramiten Bauten Synagogen oder Kirchen, aber Sie hatten eine ungewöhnliche Art der Anbetung. Sie betraten die Synagoge und kletterten auf einen Turm oder ein hohes podium, das im inneren des Gebäudes war. Sie nannten dieses podium das Rameumtum. Auf dem Rameumptum sahen Sie ein auswendig gelerntes Gebet, das ein antichristliches Gebet war. Diese einige Leute verfolgten auch die Armen unter Ihnen.



Alma und Amulek kletterten auf einen Hügel und begannen, das Volk zu unterrichten. Die reichen Leute akzeptierten NICHT, was über Christus und Sein Sühnopfer gelehrt wurde. Dann kam eine Gruppe armer Leute den Hügel hinauf und Alma begann, Sie zu lehren, weil Ihre Armut Sie demütig gemacht hatte.



Alma verglich das Wort Gottes mit einem Samen, der... WENN Sie es genährt haben... würde zu einem Baum des Lebens mit süßen Früchten wachsen, die die beste aller Früchte war. Wir wissen, dass die Frucht die Liebe Gottes ist. Die Armen Leute hörten zu und viele Bekehrten sich. Das böse Volk setzte seine Bosheit Fort. So haben die bösen Leute Ihre Sünden nicht bereut. Die Armen Leute haben bereut und wir können annehmen, dass Sie Ewiges Leben haben.



Ich denke, dass wir auch Beziehungen mit einem Samen vergleichen können. Wenn du darüber nachdenkst... man könnte sagen, dass Alma einen Samen mit unserer Beziehung zu Gott verglichen hat. Ich denke, dass Sie Ihre Beziehung mit anderen mit einem Samen vergleichen können. Wenn Sie die Beziehung nähren, können Sie erwarten, dass die Beziehung gedeiht und gute Freunde mit der anderen person werden... oder mit Gott in dieser Sache. Das Kapitel erklärt auch, dass, wenn Sie glauben ausüben, Sie schließlich sicher wissen... und dein glaube wird ruhend, weil du die Wahrheit KENNST.



Ich schlage vor, Sie Lesen das Kapitel im Buch Mormon, Ein anderes Testament Christi. Der Vergleich ist in Alma, Kapitel 32. Es ist eines meiner lieblingskapitel der Schrift.

Алма був великим пророком Книги Мормона. Він чув, що деякі з його людей повстали проти Бога і заснували своє власне місто. Вони називали себе Зорамійців. Зораміти будували синагоги або церкви, але у них був незвичайний спосіб поклоніння. Вони увійшли в синагогу і піднялися на вежу або високий подіум, що знаходився всередині будівлі. Вони називали цей подіум Рамеумтум. На Рамеумптумі вони бачили завчену молитву, яка була молитвою антихриста. Ці деякі люди також переслідували бідних серед них.

Бідняки слухали, і багато хто був звернений. Злі люди продовжували жити в своєму нечесті. Тому нечестиві люди не розкаялися у своїх гріхах. Бідні люди покаялися, і ми можемо припустити, що у них є вічне життя.



Я думаю, що ми також можемо порівняти відносини з насінням. Якщо ви думаєте про це... можна сказати, що Алма порівнював насіння з нашими відносинами з Богом. Я думаю,що ви можете порівняти свої відносини з іншими людьми з насінням. Якщо ви підтримуєте відносини, ви можете очікувати, що вони будуть процвітати і стануть хорошими друзями з іншою людиною... або з Богом, якщо вже на те пішло. У цьому розділі також пояснюється, що коли ви виявляєте віру, ви в кінцевому рахунку знаєте напевно... і ваша віра стає дрімаючою, тому що Ви знаєте істину.



Я пропоную вам прочитати главу з Книги Мормона, Ще один заповіт Христа. Порівняння наведено в Алма, глава 32. Це одна з моїх улюблених глав Святого Письма.

Я думаю,что мы также можем сравнить отношения с семенем. Если вы подумаете об этом... можно сказать, что Алма сравнивал семя с нашими отношениями с Богом. Я думаю,что вы можете сравнить свои отношения с другими людьми с семенем. Если вы поддерживаете отношения, вы можете ожидать, что они будут процветать и станут хорошими друзьями с другим человеком... или с Богом, если уж на то пошло. В этой главе также объясняется, что когда вы проявляете веру, вы в конечном счете знаете наверняка... и ваша вера становится дремлющей, потому что вы знаете истину.



Я предлагаю вам прочитать главу из Книги Мормона, еще одно завещание Христа. Сравнение приведено в Алма, глава 32. Это одна из моих любимых глав Священного Писания.
