Adriani Mushroom Fairy

Adriani is a Mushroom Fairy.  She  lives in a forest village but she is a hard working Fairy who works to collect mushrooms for eating.  The Fairy village residents DO need to eat.  And it takes real brains to collect the correct edible mushrooms.  Fairies live in the real world in that they eat and sleep etc.  But Fairies have unique and powerful magic.  Their technology is superior to our mortal tech.  In fact we have to be careful when it comes to collecting and eating wild mushrooms.  

So Adriani is an expert Botanist.  Botany includes the study of fungi.  Of course it also includes the study of plants, protists, etc.  A botanist trained to identify different types of fungi would know how to distinguish the dangerous toadstools from edible mushrooms.  

Where we live, in Utah, USA, toadstools grow in the grass when the grass is overly wet in the summer.  These toadstools are dangerous and poisonous.  Arizona has some of these deadly fungi too.  When I was 13 I came home from Jr. High and our cat was lying dead in the flowerbed.  I looked over on the grass only about 3 feet or one meter away from our dead half grown kitty and there was a toadstool with little kitty teeth marks where the young cat had taken just one bite.  

But that was enough to do poor Tadd in.   

Anyway... back to Adriani the Mushroom Fairy.  You may have read here on my blog before that my Fairies wear flying belts.  These flying belts are used for flying long distances and for flying at high speed.  Of course Fairies can fly with just their wings, but only at a rather limited speed and only for fairly short distances.  Notice that Adriani is wearing her flying belt. 

Another interesting facts about Fairies is that they can use their magic to enlarge to mortal size.  When Adriani wants to get her work done quickly she just uses the enlargement charm to go to our size.  Then she will collect her edible mushrooms and get to the entrance to the Fairy village as a full mortal sized Fairy.  Then she will set the mushrooms down and  then perform the shrinking charm and go to Fairy size.  All she has to do next is get some help from other Fairies bringing the mushrooms inside.  By the way, Fairy villages are underground, and usually under and partly in a living tree.
