Jesus is the Answer - coloring page of Jesus near Jerusalem

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new drawing I have done is of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jesus with Jerusalem in the Background

Jesus was and is our Savior.  He volunteered to be our Savior.  He died to pay the eternal price for our sins,  so we can repent and return to live with our Heavenly Parents.   Jesus was the greatest of men - His father of his flesh being God.  Jesus never sinned.  His mortal mother meant he could die, yet his Heavenly Father meant that Jesus could be resurrected.  Jesus had an imperfect body.

The Bible implies that  Jesus was not particularly handsome.  Notice that I drew Him with a lazy eyelid.  I have this same trait.  One eye is slightly less open than my other eye.  I thought that maybe Jesus had a trait like this.  Yet He was truly beautiful because the inner person is where true beauty lies.

In these turbulent times, we need to remember that Jesus IS the answer.  He taught love and compassion for others.  He condemned violence and hypocrisy.  He was almost certainly a skilled craftsman, yet He gave up his profession to be an itinerant (homeless) preacher.  His message of love and forgiveness is one we all need to be living by.  THAT is the answer to the troubles in our world.  We all need to truly follow Him and live by His teachings.  He welcomed the stranger. He taught forgiveness of others. He taught against violence.  He taught that we can be forgiven of our own sins.  His example and teachings were to take care of the poor, sick, and needy.  He taught us to be kind and comforting to those who were sad or suffering.  There is no greater example in history of such compassion.  We need to follow His example of caring for and being kind to others.  If we disagree with someone, we need to work it out and not have conflict over the disagreement.  The spirit of contention is not of Him.  It is of the Devil..  We need to learn to disagree with others peacefully.  We absolutely should NEVER do violence to others because we disagree with them.

Cretaceous Friends - Baby Dinosaur Friends coloring page

You have found my free coloring pages blog.

This site has over 3000 free printable coloring pages.

Today's new drawing is of some baby dinosaurs.

It is a cartoon-style drawing.

Cretaceous Friends

Although this is a fun cartoon-style drawing, it is not totally inaccurate scientifically.  This is because there have been footprints found of dinosaurs, and the footprints have been of several different types or species of herbivore dinosaurs.  They obviously were traveling together in a mixed-species herd... or a mixed herd. These are obviously baby herbivorous dinos.

Another scientific accuracy is the volcano in the background.  Triceratops lived at the end of the Cretaceous Period, and there was a real uptick in volcanic activity the last several million years of the Cretaceous - BEFORE the asteroid hit and finished off the non-avian dinosaurs.  The baby Sauropod would have to be a baby Titanosaur of some kind.

NOTE:  Since this is a drawing of dinosaurs from the Cretaceous Period of the Mesozoic Era, you can find the printable version by clicking on the "Paleontology" button and scrolling down to the Mesozoic Era section.  Click on the title and you'll get your free coloring page.  Have fun coloring this fun picture that is designed for younger kids to color.  FYI, there were 3 periods of the Mesozoic Era.  Triassic Period, Jurassic Period, and Cretaceous Period.  The  Mesozoic Era was divided into 3 periods.

Coloring Pages of Jesus and John the Baptist

Today on this, my free coloring pages blog,

I am posting some drawings of Jesus and

John the Baptist.

These are drawings that I have drawn for

you to print and color.

Portrait of Jesus after His Resurrection

You can see the marks of the nails in Jesus' hands.  This drawing is of Jesus.  It could be His second coming, Or it could be Him ascending into Heaven. It could be Jesus descending from Heaven to appear to His people in the New World... as told in the Book of Mormon.  Notice the bird in the distance.  If you frequent my blog, you may have noticed that every time I draw Jesus, I include a bird that is supposed to be a Dove.  The Dove represents the Holy Ghost, who is the third member of the Godhead.  There is the Father or Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.  The Father and Son have bodies of flesh and bone, but the Holy Ghost has a Spirit Body so He can dwell in us.

I will add that you can feel free to add a background to the portrait.

John the Baptist by the River Jordan

John the Baptist was the voice in the wilderness preparing the people for the advent of the Savior, Jesus Christ.  He dressed in camel hair, so his raiment was coarse.  He baptized his cousin Jesus.  And John was very brave, taking on the evil political leaders in his sermons.  This cost him his life. Almost 2 millennia later, John the Baptist visited Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowderty and John, as a resurrected being, laid His hands on Joseph's and Oliver's heads to give them the Aaronic Priesthood. So, John the Baptist had the keys to the Aaronic Priesthood.

Baptism of Jesus Christ

Jesus was baptized by his cousin, John the Baptist or John the Baptizer.  John baptized people in the River Jordan or Jordan River.  He wore camel hair clothing and ate wild locusts - kind of like Elijah did when he was on the run from King Ahab.  John's nemesis was King Herod.

Young Snow Leopard - in the Himalayan Mountains

Today's new coloring page drawing is a team effort.

My granddaughter, Maven, did the background, and I did the foreground.

The coloring page is a drawing of a Snow Leopard.

Young Snow Leopard

This is a juvenile snow leopard.  Snow leopards live in the Himalayan Mountains. These big cats are absolutely amazing.  They can chase prey down steep mountain sides at high speed. If you count the long thick tail a snow leopard can be up to 8 feet 4 inches long.  This young or juvenile snow leopard is somewhere around 6 months old, so its mother is going to be nearby.

Maven was camping recently, and she looked at the High Uintah Mountains and was inspired to draw mountains.  Notice that see could see layering and irregular lines along the ridges.  Mountains are not pyramids, although some look a little like pyramids.

Jill & Carol Night Mushroom Fairies

This is my free coloring pages blog.

Today's new coloring page is of a pair of friends who

are Night Mushroom Fairies.

Jill & Carol Night Mushroom Fairies

Jill and Carol are great friends. They are also a type of Mushroom Fairy that is nocturnal. So they are called Night Mushroom Fairies.  They are seen here in their natural size of around 5 inches tall. They are out at night, and they are kneeling on mushrooms.   These Mushroom Fairies collect edible mushrooms for the Fairy village.  They can also identify which species of mushrooms are useful for medicinal purposes. And of course, Mushroom Fairies can identify and avoid poisonous fungi like toadstools.

Don't assume that these little Fairies are defenseless.  Those wands are used to focus powerful Fairy magic. Notice the flying belt that both Fairies are wearing.  These Belteum Valorum are flying belts that allow Fairies to fly at great speed and fly for extended periods of time.  Fairies don't need the belt to fly, but they DO need it to fly fast and to fly long distances or to fly for a long time.  Some Fairies carry blowdart tubes, and they use certain fungi to make a sleeping potion for the tips of their darts.

Fairies have magic, but they also have advanced tech.  They have incorporated their magic and their technology.  This gives them advantages over we mere mortals.  If a mortal sees a Fairy, the mortal will think they are looking at a beautiful butterfly or maybe a dragonfly.  And Fairies can transform to mortal size.  Some Fairies live among mortals much of their lives.  Many Fairies even marry mortals.  And yes, there are both male and female Fairies.

Now, I want to tell you that these are a pair of beautiful Fairies.  But they are even more beautiful because they are genuinely kind and intelligent.  Kindness enhances beauty.  Though some Fairies ARE vain, that does not describe Carol and Jill.  Yet for all their humility, they really are very beautiful.  They probably don't realize it, or maybe do know how beautiful they are. Or maybe they just know how important it is to be kind and to have an intelligent mind.

Jill is also a Tiger Swallow-tail Fairy.  Notice how her wings mimic that type of butterfly.  Carol is a Lacewing Fairy with translucent to transparent lace-like wings.  Notice that it is a moonless night, and the main source of light is the wand-light.
