Giant Squid hunted by a Spem Whale math counting picture puzzle

Today's new coloring page drawing is of a Giant Squid being hunted by a Sperm Whale.

It is also a math or counting picture puzzle

This is my free coloring pages blog. I have drawn over

3000 pictures for you to print and color. Have fun coloring!

Giant Squid hunted by a Sperm Whale

Sperm Whales are one of the biggest carnivores on the planet. They are possibly the biggest true carnivores because, unlike blue whales, sperm whales don't eat plankton. Sperm whales eat giant squid. Sperm whales are the largest toothed predators since they have teeth instead of baleen. These giant squid that sperm whales eat can be up to 43 feet or 13 meters long. That's the females. The males are a bit smaller at 33 feet or 10 meters long.  A sperm whale can be up to 66 feet or 20 meters long. They can weigh up to 57 tons.

See if you can count the number of different ocean species in this drawing.  Can you name, or basically name, the different types of animals? Then count how many total individual animals there are in the drawing. Answers located below.

NOTE: This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Animals." Just click on the Animals button, then scroll down to the bottom of the list. If you are accessing this page in January or 2026 or February 2026, then the title of this drawing will be at or near the bottom of the list of coloring page drawings.

Number of types of Animals and total number of animals, if you do the math.

 -  Can you locate them in the drawing?

1 sperm whale (Hunting the giant squid.)

1 giant squid  (Being hunted by sperm whale.)

2 sharks, 1 shark of 1 species and 1 shark of a different species, for a total of 2 species, so 2 total sharks, for 2 total species of shark. Be careful with this one.

1 sea turtle (Turtle is hunting a jellyfish.)

1 eel

6 small bony fish of 3 different species. 3 fish of one species, 2 fish of another species, & 1 fish of the last species.  Be careful with this one, too.

1 parrotfish (Rounded head looks kind of like a sperm whale's head.)

1 salmon  (Hunting 3 small fish.)

5 jellyfish of the same species (Portuguese man 'o war)
