This is a free coloring pages blog.
Today's new drawing is of a chinchilla.
Chinchillas are somewhat small rodents that live in the Andes Mountains of South America. They can thrive at altitudes up to 14-15,000 feet. That is way too high of an elevation for most people to tolerate. Heck, with MY breathing problems, I need supplemental oxygen at elevations above 6000 feet. Chinchillas are about 9-14 inches or 23-36 cm. long. They have the thickest fur of any animal.
Chinchillas are kept as pets as well as living in the wild. This drawing is based on the photo I took of a chinchilla that I saw in the local Petsmart. I added the Andes Mountains background and did leaves instead of the hay bale the chinchilla was feeding on.
NOTE: This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the "Animals" button and then scrolling down to the bottom of the page. Have fun coloring!
