A few Birds from the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge coloring pages

This is my free coloring pages blog.

This includes over 2700 free and printable coloring pages.

Today's drawings are of birds we have seen at the

Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge near

Brigham City, Utah.

Horned Grebes

(new drawing)

Clark's Grebe with Grebette on Back

(This is a new drawing.  Notice the eye is not in dark feathers.

This indicates that the birds are Clark's Grebes.  The mother is carrying a

grebette on her back.  In fact, some of the photos we took of this family

show that there was another grebette eclipsed by the closer baby grebe.)

Clark's Grebe

(This is an older drawing of a pair of Clark's Grebe.

But I have discovered that these are actually Western Grebes. Oops!

The eye in the dark feathers means these are not

Clark's Grebes but Western Grebes.)

Tundra Swans on a Pond

(We saw these birds at the refuge last year in March.)

Wood Duck Mates

NOTE:  These are birds that we have seen on our many trips to the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge.  The refuge is located near where we live.  It is west of Brigham City, Utah.  Our last visit was on Tuesday of this week.  We saw 20+ different species of birds on this trip alone.  17 of the species we had not seen this year.  We are trying for our version of a "big year" where we try to see as many different species of birds as possible for us to see in one year.   We are not super-serious birders so we won't go all out, but we will try to see as many species of birds as we can.  The great movie that got us into "birding was called: The Big Year.  A fellow teacher who was our friend gave us that movie.

I plan to draw more birds from the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge over the next few weeks.  On Tuesday we also saw egrets, stilts, ibis, Cinnamon Teal, and many others.  Eventually, I will add a category to my pages of all the birds we have seen at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge.

To see the printable versions of the new drawings just click on the button labeled, "Birds."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the list of drawings.  Older drawings will be further up the list of drawings.   Again, more new drawings of different species will be forthcoming.
