Gospel Pictures . . . Old Testament

Note:  The next few posts will take a few days to complete.   There are several drawings to scan and upload to the blog site.  My current health situation makes doing too many of these very painful.  Sorry.  I will get the drawings uploaded ASAP.    I am trying to get the Old Testament drawings done tonight.

This post today, and for the next few days, are about the beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  It is our view of the Gospel of Christ.  If you want to look through it you are welcome.  I firmly believe that we have much to offer, yet I also respect all the good that is done in the world by good people of many faiths.  I even have some great friends who are atheists and I respect their beliefs...or lack of belief as their choice.  We are starting with our Premortal Life and events found in the Old Testament in the Bible.

Spirit Children of Heavenly Father with Him and Jesus in our Premortal Life
First of all, we believe that before we lived on Earth we lived in a premortal life with our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.  We were spirits with our spirit bodes...and Heavenly Father and Mother wanted us to experience life as mortals.  Heavenly Father's plan was for us to be tested in life to see if we would be good.  Jesus, our eldest spirit brother,(pictured in the drawing) volunteered to be the Savior in Heavenly Father's plan.  Satan was one of our spirit brothers too.  He wanted us to not have freedom to choose and we all voted against him.  We voted for Jesus to be the Savior in Heavenly Father's plan.  We looked forward to getting our mortal bodies.  Our Heavenly Parents had glorified bodies.

Jesus Creates the Earth
We believe that Jesus was sent by His Heavenly Father to create the Earth.  The Bible says, In the beginning was the Word and he Word was with God and the Word was God.  So we believe that Jesus and Heavenly Father are separate and distinct individual gods.  There is God the Father and God the Son and of course the Holy Ghost.

Adam and Eve in the Garden of  Eden
Adam and Eve were the first of God's children to come to Earth.  Their spirits entered into their mortal bodies when they came to Earth. (For some of my speculation on this see my previous post on Science and Religion.)  Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden at first.  It was God's plan for them to be tempted and because they took of the forbidden fruit they became fully mortal and ...Mankind exists.

Noah Preaching to the Wicked
Noah was a great prophet who taught the people that if they did not repent God would send a great flood.  The wicked people did not listen so only Noah and his family were saved in the ark that Noah had built.  He also saved many animals.

Moses Received the Ten Commandments
Moses received the ten commandments from God, up on Mt. Sinai.  We believe that we should obey the ten commandments.  They teach us to not lie, not steal, be honest, be loyal to our husband or wife, keep the sabbath day holy, honor our parents, etc.

That concludes my drawings from the Old Testament.  I hope you enjoy coloring them.  Free printable downloads are available at the button at the top of the blog page.
