Adam and Eve with the Forbidden Fruit

Adam and Eve with Forbidden Fruit

In honor of Valentine's Day, I decided to draw the first married couple from the Bible.  Adam and Eve were married by God in the Garden of Eden.  Our view is that the decision to partake of the Forbidden Fruit was a wise and knowing decision.  They went against God's commandments, but that gave them a chance to be tested in Mortality and go through married life and having and raising children together.  The Forbidden Fruit was an actual fruit.  But by taking it they were no longer like little children and were able to go on and become parents.   Consummating their marriage would not have been a sin because God had married them already.   We think that God expected them to partake of the Forbidden Fruit.  By partaking of the fruit they were made mortal and went on to be the great parents of the Human Race.

Below is an older drawing of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.  I have been working on my skills at drawing people and I think I am getting better.  Remember that newer drawings are at the top of the printables lists.   Older drawings are further up the lists.  Look for these drawings either in
....All Printables. . . or in . . . Religious...  Those are found by clicking on those buttons.  The buttons are up top.  The list of drawings in the Religious section include an Old Testament section.

Fairy named Laurentia

Fairy Laurentia with Box Elder Beetle

Laurentia is a very intelligent Fairy.  She grew up in a Fairy Village that was in and under a Box Elder Tree in Northern Idaho.  She had a Box Elder Beetle as a pet when she was a little girl Fairy and so she has a certain affinity with the Box Elder Beetles.  .  .  AKA Box Elder Bugs.  These little bugs are black with red-orange markings.

Laurentia was a caretaker of the Forest, but she also had an interest in rocks.   So she went to mortal college and studied Environmental Geology.  She had already studied Ecology in the worldwide Fairy Education system. She met a mortal young man who was studying Geoscience and Biology.  They hit it off right away.

I am writing their story right now. . . but it is not ready yet.

This new drawing is available to print by clicking on the top buttons labeled      All Printables       and     Fantasy Myths and Circus.

Dinosaurio Nuevo con Espinas en Sudamerica

Bajadasaurus pronuspinax

New Spiked Dinosaur

Bajadasaurus pronuspinax
(This is a new drawing so its found at bottom of printables lists via buttons up top.)

Bajadasaurus prospinax is a relatively newly discovered dinosaur from South America.  It was found in Northern Patagonia in Argentina.  Patagonia is where the biggest Sauropod dinosaurs were found.  But Bajadasaurus was from the much earlier Jurassic time period, not the Cretaceous time period of Argentinosaurus and Patagotitan.  Another spiny sauropod called Amargosaurus was also found years before.  It was from 15 million years after Bajadsaurus.   The big difference between these two armored Sauropods is Amargosaurus had spines facing back and the new dinosaur, Bajadasaurus, had spines facing forward.

There is much speculation on the use of these spines.  Were they used for sexual display?  Were they used defense.  To me they would be for both.  The spines on the neck would have interfered with a predator trying to snap their neck with a powerful bite.  But some paleontologists think that the spines were too thin to be a good defense.

On the other hand, the spines faced forward and we don't know if they had a hard sheath of keratin with menacing sharp points. If they did, then the spines would be a formidable defense against Theropod predators.  In fact those spines, with the keratin sheath, would have been well over a meter long.

As far as size, the Bajadasaurus is estimated to have been up to 43 feet or 13 meters long.  This is big, but way smaller than the gigantic Patagotitan and Argentinosaurus that lived in Patagonia millions of years later.

Amargosaurus vs Ceratosaurus
(Note:  Some reconstructions put the spines ONLY on the neck.)
(All of these drawings, except the first one on today's post, are older drawings so they
are found in the lists... but not at the bottom of the lists.   The lists
are found by clicking on the buttons at the top of the page.)

Polar Bear Mother and Cubs

To my Russian readers:  I hope this translation is OK.  I just got the translation off of Google.  I only know a little bit of Russian.   But I am aware that there are quite a few Russian readers of this blog.

Oso Polar

Polar Bear Mother and Cubs
Oso Polar Madre y Cacharros

Polar Bears

Polar Bear Mother and Cubs

Polar Bears are the largest land predator on our planet.  The adult boar Polar bear can grow to be over 2,200 lbs or 997 kg. They are predators of seals in particular.  In this drawing the mother Polar Bear is approaching some seaweed or kelp that has washed up on the shore.  Polar bears will sometimes eat kelp if they are starving.  Current climate change is melting the sea ice early or / and reducing the sea ice and that is threatening the Polar Bears.  This is because the Polar Bears hunt seals FROM the sea ice.

My wife and I recently finished a Coursera Class called Mountains 101.  In one lesson they analyzed air trapped in ice cores over the last 800,000 years.  The data showed that CO2 or Carbon Dioxide levels have never been higher than they are right now.  CO2 is a greenhouse gas that causes solar heat to be trapped in the atmosphere.

Leaders and we individuals need to be aware of this serious threat.  Sea levels are rising, ice caps are melting, and in my opinion we are not doing enough to curb this threat.
