Independence Day 2022 - George Washington on Blueskin coloring page

Happy Independence Day!

Today is the 4th of July or Independence Day in the USA.

So I drew the father of our country, George Washington.

General George Washington riding Blueskin

Since today is Independence Day here in the USA, I decided to draw the father of our country.  His name is George Washington.  He was the lead general of the rebels or patriots or colonists who had declared themselves free of English rule.  General Washington was facing the most powerful military in the world at the time, the British Army and Navy.  Yet he was persistent in spite of several battles he lost.  But in the end, he, along with the Continental Army, won the former colonists their independence and the right to rule themselves.

General Washington was also our first president.  He helped establish the democratic-republican form of government that we enjoy.  He served his two 4 year terms as president and then he left office.  The army was loyal to him. He could have been like Napoleon and declared himself emperor, but he did not.

General George Washington is depicted here on one of his favorite horses, Blueskin.  Blueskin was a white to a gray horse named Blueskin and he was half Arabian.  He was a stallion.

NOTE:  This is not a perfect drawing but I decided it was good enough.  The thing about being an artist is that you don't finish your drawing or painting... you abandon it.  That comes from Leonardo Da Vinci. and to be more precise, he said, "Art is never finished, only abandoned."  In any case, this drawing is found, in printable form, by clicking on the box labeled "People and Portraits" and then scrolling down to the bottom of the list.  New drawings are always at the bottom of the list.  The drawing of Georege Washington can also be found under the "Holidays" button, however, you scroll down to the "Independence Day USA" section.
