B-25 Mitchell Bomber and other bombers from World War II Era coloring pages

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog!

Today's new drawing is of a World War II-era bomber called the

North American B-25 Mitchell.

North American B-25 Mitchell

This is the North American B-25 Mitchell.  I am going on a ride in one of these vintage aircraft tomorrow.  In fact, this is a drawing of one I will be flying in.  It is called "The Maid in the Shade."  It is operated by the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force.

My father was a bomber pilot in World War II.  He flew a B-24.  This B-25 plane is smaller than a B-24 but both were very effective in their role in the war.  9,816  B-25s were built before and during the war and many operated in the military & then civilian roles for 4 decades later.  It is referred to as a medium bomber.  The B-25 medium bomber first went into service in February 1941.

The B-25 was 53 feet long and had a wingspan of 67 feet 6 11/16 inches.  The wing area was 610 square feet.  It could carry 6,746 lbs of bombs.  It had a range of over 3,000 miles.  The B-25 was used in every theater of WW II.

I am very excited about my flight tomorrow morning!

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Vehicles and Military Vehicles."    Then scroll down to the bottom of the page to see this first and only new drawing on this post.  The other bombers that I am posting down below are further up the printables list.
