Moth Fairy on a Mushroom

Welcome to my free coloring pages blog.

This blog has over 1200 free coloring pages that you can print and color.

Today's new drawing is a Moth Fairy.

Moth Fairy on a Mushroom

Moth Fairies are, as you can imagine, very friendly with moths.  Moth Fairies are a type of Night Fairy so they are nocturnal or active at night.  The Moth Fairies have a special power or talent with making "Luz Fuego."  Luz Fuego is a type of safe fire that does not burn anything and is not hot.  Here we see Nadinia the Moth Fairy standing on a mushroom.  She is regular Fairy size, or about 5 inches or 12.7 cm. tall... (or 5 inches short).

The Luz Fuego is one of the few Fairy Charms that does not require a wand.  You may have noticed Nadinia's wand tucked into her Balteum Volantes or flying belt.  All Fairies can fly, but they can not fly super fast and long distances by pure wing power.  To be able to fly fast and long distances most Fairies wear flying belts.

Notice that the light sources in this drawing are the moon and the Luz Fuego.  Nadinia likes to conjure up the Luz Fuego to attract nearby moths.  The Luz Fuego will not harm the moths, they even recognize it as a signal from a friendly Fairy.

If you noticed the large fuzzy antennae then you should know that this is a trait of a moth, not a butterfly.  I will admit that I made up this species of moth.  I'm calling it Venitum lucemii which means comes to the light. Venitum lucemii is the scientific name and the common name is also related to this moth's behavior.  The common name is "Fairy Moth" because this species is often seen with Fairies.

About Nadinia's outfit:  She prefers, like many Fairies do, to wear plant-based clothing.  Her blouse is made of tiny leaves from a low-growing ground plant.  Her skirt is made of willow leaves. She used a Fairy charm to semi-transmute the leaves into the material.

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, is found by clicking on the button labeled "Fantasy, Myths, and Circus."  Then scroll down to the bottom of the list for the new drawing.  Have fun coloring and remember that if you want it to be an accurate coloring job remember that moths have subdued earth-toned colors instead of the bright colors of many butterflies.
