B-1 Lancer and F-15 Eagle Aircraft

Today there were a couple of sonic booms here in Northern Utah.  They rattled our windows.  We found out that it is because military jets are training at a target range about 50 miles from here.  There is a big airbase here in Utah that has lots of fighter aircraft.  It usually takes a fighter aircraft to break the sound barrier.

So, since we got a reminder about the aircraft from our military flying above us... I decided to draw a couple of military jet aircraft.  Both the B-1 and F-15 are capable of breaking the sound barrier.  Below are a few specifications on these two aircraft.

This drawing is from the perspective of ABOVE the aircraft so you can see clouds and the ground down below the jets.  The ground is drawn lightly on purpose.  IF you have flown you know that details are blurred from high altitude.

Rockwell B-1 Lancer is a large bomber aircraft.
It has a top speed of Mach 2.2 for the B-1 A... and a top speed of Mach 1.25 for the B-1 B.
The B-1has a range of almost 7500 miles.
It is 146 feet long.
This bomber is operated only by the USA.

The F-15 Eagle is an air superiority fighter.
The variant called the Strike Eagle is a version that is a fighter-bomber.
It is 63 feet long.
Maximum speed is Mach 2.5 or 1650 mph.
It has a combat range of just over 1200 miles.
This fighter or fighter-bomber is operated by several different countries.

NOTE:  I am adding some drawings of other military aircraft from previous posts.  Just click on the "Vehicles" button and scroll down to the bottom for the new drawing and the other drawings are further up the list.
