F-22 Raptor Stealth Fighter

The F-22 Raptor Fighter is a true Interceptor.  It was designed for air to air combat.  It can fly extremely fast and turn at high angles.  It is currently in service with the United States Air Force.  It is a stealth fighter and is pretty much invisible to radar. 

The F-22 is 62 feet long.  That is 18.8 meters.  It weighs 83,500 lbs or about 38,000 kg.. . when fully loaded with fuel etc.  It has a wingspan of 44.5 feet or about 13.6 meters.  It is 16.7 feet tall.  That is about 5 meters tall.  The two engines have a thrust of 35,000 lbs or 15,876 kg.  

The F-22 has a range of over 1,800 miles.  That is about 2,900 km.  It has a top speed with full afterburners of around 1,500 miles per hour.  That is 2,414 kilometers per hour.  This means that the    F-22 Raptor is a MACH 2 fighter.  It can fly twice the speed of sound!

NOTE:  This drawing, in printable form, can be found by clicking on the "Vehicles" button at the top of the page.  Then remember to scroll to the bottom of the list because new drawings are found at the bottom of the lists of printable drawings.  The F-22 is now meant to be a support to the newer fighter-bomber called the F-35 Lightning II.  So I am posting my drawing of the F-35 below.  The F-35 is an amazing aircraft as well, but it is a dual role in that it is both a fighter aircraft and a bomber.  It can not match the speed of the F-22 because it is not an interceptor.
